SLAYER OR SKALD!

(couldn't resist)

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Hell yes I am interested.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Alpha Smite!

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

As soon as Daniel hit the water he would have used a free action to drop his shield. DC to swim on top on Calm Water is 10. Upon hitting the water he would have used a Fervor SWIFT ACTION to cast AIR BUBBLE. As soon as his Knowledge revealed an Evil Undead he SMITES as a Free Action.
Swim: 1d20 + 7 - 5 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 5 = 19

Xavier manages to stay afloat as he hits the water and calls Undead. Heals in water. Touch drowns.

Only 1 Fervor left now. But I am gonna Nuke this thing! Current AC vs Smite Target 23. Saves 10/6/14 all my attacks bypass it's DR and concealment.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

So am I currently submerged? Or is it chest deep? An if so is WATER BREATHING still active? We had 2 hours duration and I would think so but that is not my call.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Xavier's eyes widen as he sees the 'thing' spring out at bug.
Let me through!

BTW! We are still invisible unless we attack correct?

The war priest pushes foreward (to the square immediately north of Bug, which threatens the creature) and uses his DETECT ALIGNMENT to see if it could be a target for his Smite.

Detect Alignment:
Detect Alignment (Sp)
At 3rd level, a champion of the faith can detect his opposed alignment. As a move action, the champion of the faith can focus on a single item or creature within 60 feet and determine whether it possesses the opposed alignment, as detect chaos/evil/good/law, learning the strength of the aura as if he had studied it for 3 rounds. The champion of the faith does not detect alignment in any other object or creature when using this ability in this way. This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 3rd level.

If the duration is cool, I should still be invisible

Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Xavier blinks and sneezes quickly as the dust settles upon himself.

They had been discovered. ...

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Less joking, more walking. Let's not waste Quiz's spell.

Xavier was the killjoy as always. The serious one. But since these 4 had been thrown together he'd been trying very hard to keep everyone alive. Considering the risks they took, he was doing a good job.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Still here.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

As they move out of earshot, Xavier continues to whisper.
Keep detect magic up Quiz, dragons and elementals, they might have a caster capable of scrying us or wards about. I think those guardians might not leave their post but we may have to fight our way out.

He moves last in the order of march in the tight tunnel. Bug leading and the others in the middle

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Xavier nods and inclines his eyes in that direction for Bug to lead off.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

With no attack, apparently forth coming, Xavier shrugs at the others and motions to the nearest exit they have not explored.
He looks at his companions and motions for them to move on. Whether or not they should return and start a fight could be debated out of earshot.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Now to see if we can actually get past...

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

All the more reason to bypass it if we can. Buy if we must-any weakness we should know about?

Xavier holds the group while they have the discussion, not altogether sure a dragon wouldn't see them despite the invisibility, such creatures predated the humamoid races and were of magic and myth themselves.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Xavier is sure to keep his voice low, and nudges his fellows within the sphere to keep it down. Actually no. I'd rather not kill it unless it's hostile or is going to raise an alarm. We are all invisible. Slowly skirt the outside and take another path if we can, move in two files by with Bug and I on the inside. Be ready to attack Bug

The priest guides quiz to the wall side and keeps himslef between the creature and the Arcanist.

Even a blessed as he was and as frequently he saw magic, new things could still awe the human mind.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Xavier will halt the group well before the light and quietly cast PROTECTION FROM EVIL on Bug.
Ok. Go.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Worked stone, probably sees more traffic. Single file. Bug first, he kills faster. I'll go last. Quiz in front of me so I can keep you up of you're targeted.
He intones a prayer and touches Bug.
Protection from evil. You have 8 minutes. If you see a caster drop them first.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

The priest waits at the door so the others can pass him and has his Sword and Shield out.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

This chamber was likely a barracks long ago, judging by the rotting bunks, chairs, chests, and weapon and armor racks. Someone has culled the worst of the furniture and tossed it toward the northern wall, while it looks like the remaining pieces have seen recent use.

There is nobody in this room, now.

I would prefer the sphere Quiz. Let's move up together Bug and I in front. When we catch an enemy we close and kill it. I don't want you revealing yourself unless you have to. As for which direction, we are a small group, the narrower front the better.
Xavier points towards the door.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

There are 2 wands there Quiz, can you ID them please. Might be useful.

The cleric finishes the pat down and is disappointed not to find orders or a map.

If you need anything, now is the time. We need to keep going while we have the initiative.

It was clear the Priest had no aspirations of looting. He had a mission and bar getting some protection, had little interest in taking from the dead.

You don't need to apologize. You will be better next time. We all will. "What doesn't break my body, forges my soul. "

Xavier was quoting the teaching of Ragathiel, a powerful Angel born and forged in Hell. The half devil/half elemental prince, for whatever reason had taken on the call to righteous vengeance and risen to be a champion for good.
But those who followed were generally those who had suffered and risen again despite the lure of despair. Few if any had not felt betrayed or shame or weakness but those who did rise to his call were the most steadfast warrior's on Golarion. And if you needed picking up, they were there to help you stand and fight.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Xavier looks at his shield as though it had betrayed him.

Works great as part of a formation, but I don't think I'll carry this anymore.
1000gp wasted but too heavy with all the swimming and possibly climbing. I'll leave it here for now and get it on the way out.

He spends a bit of time cleaning his gear and restows his wand when everyone has been healed, leaving it in his quick draw sheath and making sure his wamd of divine favor is in his belt. With his gear sorted he readjusts his weapon cord around his writst and walks with his sword in hand. Without the shield he could use his other hand for casting. He pulls a pearl of power and focuses on it to renew his own Divine Favor Prayer.

I have enough spells for 1 or 2 more fights. 3 if we are smarter. Let's go.

Male Human Warpriest 8, AC21/T10/FF21+2 if using Shield, HP74/74, F10/R4/W12, CMB+10/CMD+20, Perception +5

Daniel sheaths his sword and clumsily drags his backside out of the water.
Do me a favor guys, lets not try and sneak past anyone again. We left enemies at our back by bypassing the door and we were almost immediately made to pay for it when we got into a fight. Thank Ragathiel we were able to survive but that was an expensive fight for me. Now, who needs healing?

Xavier moves over to the spot where he pulled Quiznog back from Death and retrieves his wand of Healing he dropped there.

Just checked the Fevor ability. Totally forgot about the swift action Pseudo LOH

Fervor:
At 2nd level, a warpriest can draw upon the power of his faith to heal wounds or harm foes. He can also use this ability to quickly cast spells that aid in his struggles. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to 1/2 his warpriest level + his Wisdom modifier. By expending one use of this ability, a good warpriest (or one who worships a good deity) can touch a creature to heal it of 1d6 points of damage, plus an additional 1d6 points of damage for every 3 warpriest levels he possesses above 2nd (to a maximum of 7d6 at 20th level). Using this ability is a standard action (unless the warpriest targets himself, in which case it's a swift action). Alternatively, the warpriest can use this ability to harm an undead creature, dealing the same amount of damage he would otherwise heal with a melee touch attack. Using fervor in this way is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity. Undead do not receive a saving throw against this damage. This counts as positive energy.

As Xavier breaks the surface, having made his lethal promise to the sorcerer he touches himself on the chest and mentally intones Ragathiel.

Hey Baldwin just checking
if the IRONBOUND feat is ok to take at level 9
Ironbound Master

You wear your heavy armor like a second skin.

Prerequisite(s): Cleric level 7th, worshiper of a god of battle

Benefit(s): You gain the armor training fighter class feature with an effective fighter level equal to your cleric level –4.

It's from the PF Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Gods.
Written before ACG.

There is no text that says war priests function as clerics for the purposes of feats, but a few channel feats have been rewritten to include Warpriest.

Example:You can channel divine energy more often.

Prerequisite: Channel energy class feature.

Benefit: You can channel energy two additional times per day.

Special: If a paladin with the ability to channel positive energy takes this feat, she can use lay on hands four additional times a day, but only to channel positive energy. If a Warpriest with the ability to channel positive energy takes this feat, she can use Fervor four more times per day but only to channel positive energy.

Obviously it's not RAW but the feat seems designed with Battle Clerics in mind. That's the concept the Warpriest was built on.
It's not centrally important to my build concept but thought it might be cool.

Yay! Baldwin is back!

Hi,

I am currently playing a Warpriest at 8th level (started at 5).

I chose to go with the Champion of Faith Archetype since I wanted smite and smite is awesome.

Since it came out I have found both offense and resources wise, the inquisitor is a better class.
A better WAR priest.

Why.
The Inquisitor spellist has early access to some awesome spells well before the warpriest.
Deadly Juggernaut for instance and gets some brilliant spells he can't cast at all like Righteous Vigor and Litany of Righteousness (which an inquisitor can't use anyway since he doesn't get an Aura)

"But he gets full cleric spells", you cry.
I know. And because of the 6th level casting gets it way later than the cleric.
This is HUGE. The cleric list is ok but getting stuff 2 levels late makes it suck.

I am not one of those who scream that they should have kept full BAB, but considering the closest Parallel classes (Magus and Inquisitor) are less intensive for resources the class lags a bit.

Example.
A warpriest has to blow a fervor AND a spell to sswift buff+Attack.

A magus can cast+attack all day long via spell strike. Spellstrike doesn't cost anything. Spell combat does a little (-2 to attack) but the cost is negligible considering and Attack+Haste is far more game breaking than Attack+Divine favor.

The right Battle control can trounce an encounter.

Vs a Inquisitor well Judgements as a swift doesn't even cost a spell at all. At low levels a spell is better (point for warpriest) but as soon as second judgement comes online, freely picking +'s to attack, damage or saves FOR ENTIRE FIGHT can tip the balance the other way.

I don't necessarily think there is anything wrong with the warpriest mechanism but are strongly feeling Paizo in their efforts to not create any more Unique spell lists could have said
Spells:The warpriest uses the Inquisitor and Paladin lists for spellcasting.

That would grant a Much more offense focused list (remember WARpriest) and a better healer as well. with adding stuff like Righteous Vigor, early Deadly Juggernaut, early lessor restoration, Litany of Righteousness etc. Freaking Holy Sword.

Try it.
It's game changing for the class and better fits the theme.

As for what it's good at I have read Undone's guide and agree with Most of it but have had lengthy back and forth that Warpriest's make pretty good Intimidators and with their bonus feats the combo of
Dazzling Display,
Cornugon Smash, Shatter Defenses
and a Sickening Weapon

To drop Shaken, Flatfooted and Sickened is a pretty potent trick to debuff enemies.

They also make Tank builds (Fullplate, Shield, Ioun Stone, Sacred Armor) whhile still doing great damage (Smite or Destruction Blessing)

Still that damn cleric list bothers me.

I agree, Quiz is dumber than an Orc Sorcerer f9r lf for not learning FLY.
LOL

Quiz is NOT dead.
He was at -2 and I used Cure Serious wounds at the top of the round to cure 27hp.

He is awake but prone. He can cast as a standard, the crawl to the water.

That caster needs to die.
Quiz- get fly on Bug.

I'll hold of the Orogs

Rd9:
[spoiler=Buffs] Divine Favor- finished, Sacred Armor, Haste [/dice]
Reflex Fireball: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 1 = 18
Reflex Grease: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 = 6

Xavier manages to get his shield up in time to ward the majority of the flames, he hears the scream and sees Quiz turn visible and he feels his sword slip from his grasp.

Thank Ragathiel he needed a weapon cord in order to cast with his hands full.
He uses a swift action to recover his blade and Moves to J26 to stand over Quiz fallen body.
My water breathing spell os still working. ..

A healing spell would not be enough for the gnome to live if he got hit again. He needed his ally up.
He lets go of his blade again and touched Quiznog, using his patrons power to revive his friend.
CSW: 3d8 + 8 ⇒ (5, 6, 8) + 8 = 27
As the gnome awakens, Xavier barks,
Get below the water, cover under the ship.

With that he awaits for the Orogs to come at him again....

Xavier easily blocks the attack with his massive shield and retaliated with a one handed swipe from the side, the chops down, a 90 degree direction change.

1st Iterative: 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 2 + 2 = 25
1 hand Damage: 1d10 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 3 + 4 + 2 = 20

2nd Iterative: 1d20 + 6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 + 2 = 18
1 hand Damage: 1d10 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 3 + 4 + 2 = 19

I shall not be moved.
