So I am soon going to be playing a new Pathfinder campaign. I looked @ this build

http://nerdassmess.blogspot.com/2016/05/inquisitor-heretic-monster-tacticia n.html?m=1

But I've also seen the guide for this as well.

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2nix8?Zen-and-the-Art-of-Monk-Maintenance-A-Gui de

Both look very intriguing. I also read Bodhi's guide & I LOVE the idea of playing the devout operative role, essentially playing James Bond for the church.

Please help. Ty!

Does the weapon property specifically only pertain to melee weapons or can you apply to ranged weapons as well?

I am going to be shortly starting a new PF game involving the Shattered Star adventure module. What classes would you recommend would be the most fun to play for beginners?

Thank you!

I am seriously thinking about using this build.

http://zenithgames.blogspot.com/2014/03/classic-ninja-ninja-build.html?m=1

My GM said they need someone to disable traps. After doing some extensive research, this build seems like the most fun to play while still being able to fill the utility the group needs.

Currently, there is 1 F/Barb/Wiz/Sorc/Cleric. My nephew is going to be playing an archery ranger mostl likely.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Does anyone have any build ideas that would be solid for finding & disarming traps? I'd like a build that is solid all the way around if possible. Skills, combat, ect.

I''m looking for a solid rogue build. Lvl 15. All & Any suggestions are most welcome! Please & Ty!

So per the subject line, I am entering a party that is either chaotic neutral or true neutral. The party consists of Barb/F/Sorc/Priest/Wiz. I initially thought maybe an archer paladin would be fun to play, but now am second guessing going in that direction because of the potential conflict due to the varying alignments.

I was thinking I would like to play a dps character. Anyone have any good suggestions that might fit this bill?

Tyvm everyone!

I have a question. My character will have a 16 WIS & a 5 CHA. What would be the best way to go about role playing this character?

I will be playing a dwarven inquisitor in a new campaign coming up. Would this be a good stat spread for a 15 point buy?

I will be going with the Devestator type per the Bodhi guide.

So this is what I came up with for a stat spread

Race: Dwarf

STR 16
DEX 12
CON 14
INT 13
WIS 14
CHA 5
Total Points: 15

This is after racial mod

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm going to be playing a dwarven inquisitor wielding a dwarven LongHammer. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

So what skills should I max out for an inquisitor in a pirate themed campaign?

In a pirate campaign, which 2H weapon would you say would be best to use. Right now the best choices that I see are the greatsword, falchion, nodachi, bardiche, & heavy flail.

I'd ultimately like to use the nodachi, but how do I fit that kind of weapon that originates from the Far East?

I have a question. I noticed in the ARG that dwarves have a racial trait called Saltbeard, but this replaces Hatred, Stonecutting, & Defensive Training. Is this a worthy trade off in a pirate campaign?

Ok so based upon everything I read about the Inquisitor from the fantastic guide done by Brodhi. The consenus sounds like that the Devastator Inquisitor. And that the dwarf would be the best fit for this as well. Or am I wrong in this and that the archer Inquisitor is better?

Now is this correct in that this class will do extremely well in a pirate campaign? If melee, what weapon do you recommend using? If ranged, what do you recommend?

Also, domains I noticed there were several that were top choices highlighted by Brodhi. Feather, Rage, Travel, Dragon, & Trade were the top of the line options. Which of these or if there are others that may be better for a pirate campaign? Any feedback would be Awesome! Thanks!

My thinking is this; Feather for the skill buff & animal companion. Travel for the speed bump since I will be a dwarf. Rage for the bump in str for melee combat. Dragon just simply for a breath weapon.

What do you guys think?

What classes can use ranged touch attack?

I will be playing a pirate campaign very soon. Currently, I have 3 other players playing ranged combat characters. I, myself, would rather not play the sword & board or the "beatstick" melee character/ I've been there & done that. I want to play something different.

I've asked about a summoner and that has been dismissed for an option. I thought about a ranger or even a free booter ranger for that matter, but If I am only going to be the 1 in melee combat. No reason to play this class. Not to mention if I play an archer ranger, I've heard that in a pirate setting lots of wind comes & blows your arrows away.

Gunslinger is out of the question. We have those already.

I'm drawing a blank here guys. I want to play something that is thematically cool, but yet also do well in this campaign as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Any recommendations for a half elf summoner mini? And please don't post the gnome summoner pf mini. Thank you.

So I will be playing in a pirate game in the near future. After some careful thought & consideration from all the suggestions I've received to play, I'm thinking the Master Summoner might be the avenue I'd like to go down. It seems like this class has served the party the best in this type of campaign.

Especially, where right now as I understand it there are going to be 2-3 gunslingers in our party. And I would rather not be the meatstick. I've been there & done that. I'd rather do something else.

So I figured that the Master Summoner might be interesting from what everyone has been mentioning. I know I am going to go Half Elf to qualify for the Eldritch Heritage feat.

I need help on building an eidolon that is a small scout-type with high perception, stealth, the ability to swim and breathe underwater as well as the ability to fly.

And any help with building the Master Summoner I would appreciate as well. Thanks!

I've been hearing a lot about gunslingers. Are they worth playing? My original thinking is that paying 6 gp per shot is a hefty sum.

Am I off base here?

What could be some possibilities for funny personas to play as?

2 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

Does this exist?

So in the near future, I will be participating in a pirate campaign. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best class that would be of the most benefit to everyone.

My initial thought was to play an archer ranger. It's still on the table.

My list of options are this as of right now; Hobgoblin Archer Ranger, Undine Druid Adept, or the class that I've been reading about that seems to have had a high success rate in pirate campaigns, the Master Summoner.

I was reading up on Saph's guide on summoners in www.giantitip.com. From what I gather of what he had said in that guide for a race to choose for a summoner in an aquatic campaign are of these choices; half elf/gillman/ifrit, fletching.

And out of those choices either the Riverfolk Gillman or the half elf are the prime choices. Riverfolk Gillman for obvious reasons and the half elf to qualify for the eldritch heritage feat.

Also, from what I've been reading about Master Summoners in an aquatic campaign that the general census in what people do that is effective is their eidelon is a skill monkey instead of having an eidelon made for destruction. Instead, they use their summons to do that.

So I open up the discussion for everyone else to please give me good feedback so that I can make a concrete decision going forward. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
