Is there any chance you'd be willing to hold a slot open for Parts II and III for me? Way back when I first created this character I did part I in CORE mode in person, but after I did part I, I realized that I couldn't make it to parts II and III.

"Oye, Oye, I got a special opportunity for some Pathfinders. The Decemvirate has gotten us back in the good graces of the rulers of my homeland, the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune, at least enough to get a team sent into Cheliax. Now, I don't think you're headed to Brastlewark, your loss, but we do need a good team with a steady head on their shoulder"

Sign up is here for the lottery. This Scenario 7-14, Faithless and Forgotten Pt 1. Parts 2 and 3 will be available as you finish.

The gnome resumes his position on the stool.

"Oi, oi, listen up, listen up, I got the list of accepted agents here."

"First, I need that barbarian in a mask, the young one from up the River Kingdoms. Will Skilganon please report for duty? Then I got the little cutpurse running around, D'oor? Then I need a... Nerisel? I'm not sure I got that right, a Nerisel with a 'n'. A triple threat, she sings, she dances, she cuts people with daggers. Then, there's the human guy who used to be a guard here? Paging Ryan. And these last two, I'm not even really sure. My secretary, she's got distinctive penmanship... It either says 'Zephyr' or Mentys on this line and this one says either 'Deathless' or 'Arsena'."

"Anyways," the gnome barrister says, "If you heard your name called or you know them, there's a ship leaving for Sargava waiting for you, and then you take a boat and, I dunno, a donkey, up to Nantambu in the Mwangi Expanse."

The law offices of Fencejumper, Hao, and Wolfscar house three Core-Pathfinders in each of their offices (a gnome sorceror, human fighter and half-elf cleric). Which reminds I need to make their receptionist and/or summer 1L intern.

And for the record, Wrigsolar's grandmother was a powerful conjurer and briefly sojourned to the Elemental Plane of Air when she was pregnant with Wrigsolar's mom, and that is how Wrigley got his bloodline. His father's side are experts, and Wrig never intended to be an adventurer. However, as a lawyer, he angered the Cheliaxian government. He absconded to Absalom and started another law firm (with my other Core characters). He's hoping to use the funds from adventuring to bribe his way back to Cheliax, and/or have his law firm become the in-house counsel for the Pathfinder Society.

Does anyone have a background that they particularly want to share? I've taken to writing down the character's name and hometown, just in case I ever play with someone else from the same city, and can be like "Ah, yes, I once fought alongside a Cleric of Irori from there, have you ever met?" I know Sagart is from the Five Kings Mountains.

and for the record,

Wrigsolar Daedelus Fencejumper, Esq.

Mark, lets say I'm statting out the big bad guy for my home campaign. Let's say its a monster with class levels, in fact, let's say multi-class that are pretty disparate. Should I be more concerned with the guidelines set out by the Monsters by Type or the general table that lists the guidelines for HD, Damage, spell DC, etc for each CR?

edit: by disparate, I mean they fall in separate categories

Hey, believe me, I'd much rather be practicing law back in Bristlewrack than risking my butt in Absalom. Too bad this adventuring stuff is the only way to get enough money to ensure my safety back in Brastlewrack Wrigsolar thinks to himself after Natalya disparages Absalom. Though, to be fair, there was an appeal in being a high-powered Absalom lawyer.

"Getting you back to Irrisen shouldn't be a problem as near as I can see. I'm pretty sure that the Society could probably even cover your travel expenses. Just a few months ago, my associate Jing Hao was there on an expedition. Near Whiterook, if you know it? I know we've got people up there now, at least." That is, one of my other Core characters got GM credit for From Under Ice.

"As for Skelg, well, I'd have to review the relevant Irriseni casework, and I fully admit at not being an expert in Irrisen law. I don't believe they have any prohibition about signing a contract under duress... and well, Skelg is most likely going to die without your help, so you're in what people in my profession call a strong bargaining position."

"And the matter of the Beacon, this is again subject to Irriseni law. Its possible that, as personal property, Skelg would receive marital interest in the Beacon (assuming that he agrees to marry you) and its also possible that Haldyr's rebirth as an undead being might cause there to be issues with the provenance of the beacon. (I know for a fact there's a lot of complex rules about undeath and property ownership in Geb.) My partners and I can help you out there. If it is a huge deal about Skelg having a marital interest, I can whip up a quitclaim deed, pro bono."

"Now, I imagine that the Society is going to want to take a look at it, so here's what I think a reasonable proposal would be. You allow the Society to hold and study the Beacon while I prepare your marriage contract, your pre-nuptial agreement, and while we clear up any issues on the title of the aforementioned magic item. Also, the Society will hold on to the lantern while you and/or the Society prepares for the journey to Irrisen. You'll retain the right to access the Beacon while its in Society care, and, just to make sure we aren't dragging our feet, the becaon returns to you after a reasonable amount of time even if you haven't set out to Irrisen. I'm thinking like sixty or ninety days."

"If you like, I can whip up a contract, or we can head back to Absalom, and, if need be, I can give you a referral to another barrister to hash out the details with. Is this an acceptable arrangement to you, Madam?"

Wrigley jumps towards Jair, hoping that the larger humanoid will be the one to draw attacks. While some might think it cruel, Wrigsolar has court on this coming Toilday, and needs to think of his clients. Before he does so, he gathers some more electrical energy and shoots it at a zombie

"Sweet Shelyn's skirt," Wrigsolar says as the ghoul goes down, a palpable sense of relief rushing through the elemental lawyer. Wrigsolar draws his last scroll of Burning Hands, and reads it. Unfortunately for him to hit all zombie, he has to nick his laconic dwarven friend with the flames unless the GM sees a way for me to do it without that?, so he is unable. I think I can hit three of the 4, but I don't think I can hit the one that is directly left of drostan without hitting drostan!

Yâble, if you're having issues "feeling" a character, my advice is always to start with something small in your character-build that you can latch onto, and build from there. Like, Wrigsolar's first real trait was that he is a lawyer. That added with his high charisma, makes him a fast-talking, "ambulance chaser" (I kind of doubt that translates. He's not a very prestigious lawyer, but a guy who's always chasing after potential clients.)

Or like, with my warpriest in the non-core campaign. He's got that feat from the Advanced Race Guide that lets him make any check untrained and gives him a small bonus on all skills that he doesn't have ranks in. So, he's at least kind of good at everything. Which means he's got a high opinion of himself, which often leads to him being kind of an arrogant jerk (I try to save that for the GM's NPCs, just to be a good player)
