Wow, the interest in this thread has exploded!! For now, I'll bow out, have a great run folks!

Sounds fun! Not sure on a character, would like to see what the party is made up of before making that decision. I'll keep an eye on the thread around the PC selection date (10/6/2016). Will character creation be required before then?

4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 1) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 2) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 1) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 2) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 2) = 6

Stats: 17, 14, 13, 11, 9, 5

Could be a fun array to play; 1 great and 1 horrible stat!

Wrathmire passes on the items, deciding to just pocket the gold.

Glad we could help, let us know if any other work comes up.

Very fun Aeshuura, you are definitely the best pbp DM I've had the pleasure to play with!! I love how you make everything move so smoothly and pleasantly!

Wrathmire raises his hand.

I think we are all on the same side. We have come to rescue the girl, this is her father. Wrathmire points to the gnomish old man with them.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire looks around, confused.

Should I shoot the monster!?

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Sorry, was on vacation, catching up on posts.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire nods, ready to attack the beast.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

We best hurry then...

Wrathmire picks up his torch and stands ready 10 feet behind the door.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire loads his crossbow and gathers the bolts that didn't break.

We are looking for a gnome lass...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire unleashes a flurry of bolts.

Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Hand Xbow Attack 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Hand Xbow Damage 3: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Action Surge, avoiding AoOs, moving to get shots without cover

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire fires a few quick shots at the guard, hoping to drop him before he alerts more.

Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire has his hand xbow ready to go.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire sets down his ale and gives his attention to the gnome.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire dashes to the door and bars it.

You have some explaining, dwarf...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire tries to use the distraction of violence to check out the item in the human's pack.

Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire whispers, I'll stay back, and watch the conversation, Uriah, you go up and chat with the dragonborn, see if you can get information on why she is so uptight.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire whispers, we should maybe split up, and chat with the a few folks. I'll talk to the dragonborn. I expect the elf to just be a ranger or guide and the half-elf just looks like a guy down on his luck or so. I'm not sure I would be good talking to a group. Anyone want to join me? I've been known to stumble over my tongue...

Insight: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire whispers, I'll help. He begins looking around with a bit more focus that usual, looking for anyone suspicious and hiding or fidgetingly looking around as if they hid anything.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Oh cool, if you have been counting, mind letting me know? I started with 3 cases, and have been buying a case or two each adventure. At least they are super cheap :)

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire heads back to the Tea-Kettle, but stops off to buy a case of bolts for his crossbow.

7 xp shy of level 3 :D

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire takes concentrates, getting his second wind.

Ok, let's search this area for threats, and then go get our friend upstairs.

Second Wind: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Wrathmire fires a few more shots into the remaining zombie.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Seeing a zombie fall, Wrathmire continues to fire bolts into the nearest zombies.

Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Shocked at the ineffectiveness of his crossbow, Wrathmire adopts a defensive posture.

We should keep them at bay until those magic symbols are disabled. Dodge their blows, then once the symbols are disabled, we then attack!

Action: Dodge

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

I think I remember in the past that most zombies die from a critical hit. I guess these have special protection from crits due to the runes?

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire moves forward, drops his torch, and fires a few shots into the zombies.

Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Hand Xbow Attack 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Hand Xbow Damage 3: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Hand Xbow Damage 3 Crit Dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 4

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Yeah, it can wait...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Can you safely take any of this back upstairs for investigation?

Wrathmire starts heading over to the other side of the room.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

I'll lead the way.

Wrathmire starts down the passage, searching for traps. Torch in 1 hand, hand crossbow in the other.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Let's continue to the south. Or should we disassemble the skeletons, just in case...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire continues to check the passageway for other traps.

Hey folks, we can avoid the traps, follow me.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire walks down the passageway and examines the next doorway for traps.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

No, peeking through the doorway

While standing at the doorway, Wrathmire examines for any signs of traps that can be disabled.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Thieves' Tools: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

You ok Ander? Those skeletons look suspicious... Should we stand back and attack them from afar?

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire also has a torch out, in the rear of the party.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire nods, following you, Sir Meliamne.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire shrugs, we can't guarantee your safety if you are alone up here...

Wrathmire looks to the group, I'm ready when you are.

Looks like he is waiting for one of the melee folks to lead the way.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire looks at the gems and the murals. He puts the diamond in the snow-capped mountain, the sapphire into the thunderstorm, the ruby into the roaring fire, the emerald into the garden with the snake, and the opal into the bubbling vial in the laboratory.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire takes a deep breath and begins looking at the door, trying to look for a latch. If no latch, he will look at the paintings to see if there are any slots for the gems from the sarcophagus.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire joins Ceidith and purchases 1 case of 20 bolts.

Wrathmire tries to look for additional clues in the crypt as well as any disturbed areas (tracks, skid marks, swirls in the dust).

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire finishes his ale and takes a deep breath.

I'm in.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire looks at the man and nods. That we are...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Whispers to Ceidith:

Seems like a nice enough chap, I'm sure our commanding officers would like to know of his helpfulness. Also, we need to make sure he provided his report with utmost haste, given he was under orders to investigate the area...

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire relaxes at the Kettle, looking around for any Zhentarim to discuss the findings from Chaab.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire puts the potion into his pack and gives a brief smile to Chaab, but only if you pay really close attention. Seems Wrathmire doesn't smile much.

Thanks Chaab, I hope we cross paths again.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire flashes his zhentarim coin to Chaab.

Thanks for the tip, Chaab. I'll be sure to note your helpfulness in my report.

male Human Fighter/3 AC15 HP 31/31 Init:+3 PP:14 SW [ ] AS [ ]

Wrathmire shrugs and heads out of the cave.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Looking at the 2e corebooks, I am confused between the Pathfinder 2e corebook and the 2e Player corebook. Did 2e get split into 3 corebooks?

Just got the 2nd ed playtest rulebook through Humble Bundle. It requires PF2 Player Core and GM Core. Would I be able to run a game using the Pathfinder 2e srd instead?

In Stargate Atlantis, there was a species that posed a threat to Atlantis called the Wraith. They can be simply described as space vampires. If I wanted to emulate this in game terms, how would I go about it? Would I go about building it using character themes or by archetypes?

Did the devs ever talk about why they capped spells at 6th lvl? If so what were their reason(s)? I apologize if this was asked before. Just picked up Starfinder in Humble Bundle deal.
