We were told the army was coming, were we not? We knew exactly what was about to happen. Dreadmaster wrote:

Oh for f#+@s sake. We were not told to do exactly what I suggested in our dream last night? I thought we were splitting of from the caravan we traveled with to form our own, continuing on our way solo. Vorik would know the actual plan, but it's been FOREVER due to RL issues with the GM, so I out of game forget. *IF* we are not supposed to 'ingratiate ourselves with one or more of the Purple Dragon commanders' like we were told to by Xeno, then f&!#ing forget I said anything.

Vorik rises shortly before dawn to a light knock on his door. Opening it, he ushers the young girl bearing a tray inside. Motioning her to the table, she uncovers the tray, revealing a delicious, hearty breakfast. He tips her several silver, and goes about making a cup of tea as she leaves. As he sits down to enjoy his meal, he hears the trumpets announcing what he assumes must be the Purple Dragons. Finishing eating, he dresses, donning both arms and armors, and heads downstairs in time to overhear Suni's odd tirade. Going over to the inn keeper, he offers the man a few more silver "I'm sorry about my companion, he's a little not right in the head." He then heads outside himself, and makes his way to the caravan, catching the last of what Mawj said. "Mawj, Dorn, Ja'far, I want you come with me to go and meet with one of the Purple Dragon commanders. We're supposed to ingratiate ourselves, so they don't hamper our travel. Dorn, you'll be my second, while Mawj and Ja'Far will continue to act as guards. Any ideas on how we can convince them to let us be on our way with little to no fuss?"
Male Human Acolyte
Vorik replies to Edwin first "One man does not a band make. Unless you're secretly capable of splitting into three or four more people." Turning to Kelemvor, "I do not think having a couple more experienced guards would be a bad thing. Besides, strength in numbers and all that." GM: We are traveling to the same place as the trio, right? Also, I have *no* idea what kind of funds we might have to pay them, or even *if* we can.
Male Human Acolyte
Vorik sat quietly, calmly throughout all of the blustering and accusations. After all, currently, he was a caravan master, so he needed to look the part. However, when the merchant makes his threat, and departs, he looks to whom ever is sitting with him. "That went well. I'm unsure if he was including us or not, but I have no intention of leaving during the middle of the night. I have rooms I paid for after all, and I am looking forward to a good night's sleep in a real bed."
Male Human Acolyte
I'm surprised there's no poison/pestilence/disease patron. Hey Shadow, can we make one for Pox? lol @Suni, I'm rather fond of rogue/investigator, so if you do choose one of those, I can offer some advice. FYI, you don't need to be social for an investigator, like at all. You could be the brainy type, or the sullen, quiet loner. Nothing about the class specially calls out needing to be chatty or personable.

I can't recall if Tilverton was our current 'final destination' or not, but obviously in game Vorik does. Should we be moving on, he'll instead say something like 'completed the first leg of our journey.' Still going with the Talented Cleric, as it lets me fully customize Vorik as I desire, level by level.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Perception. Upon arriving at the Inn, Vorik turns to the guards and rest of the caravan. "Thank you all for getting us here safely. We had a few rough spots, and while we lost a few on the way, most of us have survived. Take the afternoon off, go and do as you please. However, tonight, we celebrate the success of a completed journey, and the lives of those we lost! Drinks on me!!"

I gave 5e a shot, playing one session with my friends, and while I had fun, it was just not for me. I didn't like a lot of the changes made, and while it was much better than 4e, it did not utterly blow my mind. Which is what it would need to have done to make me switch/play over PF.
Male Human Acolyte
Yea, his staff was also involved, which actually made it even stupider. Azuth's staff had trapped within it Savras, god of divination. If I recall, they killed Azuth first, again, I believe in his home plane, by surprise, because somehow the freakin god of divinations wasn't able to warn him ahead of time. Regradless, in 3.x, they had power check rules regarding divinity combat, and along with a ton of powerful benefits and bonuses in one's home plane. It's practically impossible to kill a god in their home plane, even if you're another deity.

While I hated a lot of the mechanical and design changes of 4e, It was WotC destroying the Realms for no real reason that made me flat out refuse to buy/play/or other support 4e. Not only did that utterly ignore their own published rules(there's no way Mystra could have been murdered in her home realm), not only did they ruin the best setting they had, with an incredible amount of fan support and history, But they did I think just to be jerks, really. They made FR their 'default' setting, which is cool, but it had to be ruined in order to fit their bizarre 'points of light' mentality. Which would have been absolutely frackin perfect for Eberron!! Nobody would have truly minded if they shook things up a bit, as it was already a setting in flux.
Male Human Acolyte
Trying to not murder you and your dog. In case you have forgotten, I am the leader of this mission and I am talking to the other PCs, who are supposedly under my lead. If they all want to ignore their leader, then whatever, what was the point of putting me in charge, if nobody will flipping listen to me? I'm actually on the verge of walking out on this game, cuz I'm tired of this shit.
Male Human Acolyte
Vorik accepts Ja'Far's hand up, and stands with a nod of thanks to the healer. "You are fine Ja'Far. Guards, muzzle the dog, and clasp Dorn in irons. He is a risk to our mission. I will not have somebody who can not follow simple, practical orders running free." It's clear from the way the emphasis he places on the last words that is referring to their mission from the Black Temple, and his asserting his authority as the group's leader.

Btw, since there's been some claim of my shouting, and several comments about what took place, Vorik spoke to Dorn quietly. I went out of my way to make sure that convo was very discreet, so if there was any commotion, it resulted only from the slap or Dorn got loud. Cuz even when he spoke after hitting Dorn, Vorik never raised his voice above quiet.

Dorn Xizurth wrote: I weep for the loss of professionalism. Is it any wonder the heroes win despite the odds. The only one doing their job properly is the dog. ;P Only because he doesn't know any better. Cast awaken on him, or make him a familiar(thus giving him Int), and he'll be hanging out with Sunite sooner rather than later. Btw Dorn, just want you to know I have no issues with you in or out of game as to what happened. As I said above, my real complaint was being accused of PVP and trying to 'godmod' or 'take over your PC', which was absolutely not my intention.

This is what confused me. Yes, you do say after 'I assume that to touch is ok so long as the intent is to aid and not harm', the comment above it seem to contradict that, and made it seem like one would need to wait to aid a fellow PC.
Male Human Acolyte
Uhh, I was saying Dorn was calling Vorik stuck up. And I'm not so upset about the dog attacking me, as am I everybody out of game basically accusing me of trying to commit pvp, which was absolutely not the case. We were in the midst of a heated exchange, Dorn jabbed me in the shoulder and I backhanded him. Maybe I am just too used to more RP centric games, where such an action would not have been seen as combat/dice roll worthy.
Male Human Acolyte
Good-natrued? How in the nine Hells do you consider anything in that exchange 'good natured'?! Literally *nothing* about that was pleasant or friendly. Vorik was trying to assert dominance, as appointed leader, and Dorn was putting up his back as an independent contractor. And I definitely didn't see that as a 'oh we're just locker room chums, celebrating a win' slap on the back. More like a 'hey, I'm better than you, ya stuck up f+*#', punch to the arm.
Male Human Acolyte
So, wow. A few things. 1) Dorn slapped me first, and didn't roll. Yes, it was 'on the shoulder', but he could have done more, had he wanted to, via a combat maneuver check, or heck, even used that as a way to deliver a touch spell. If I'm going to 'punished' and he get's away fine, then that's pretty f'd up. 2) The entire reason why I didn't roll was because it was a purely roleplay, not an attempt to do any actual damage or ROLLplay.. I didn't think an entirely 'flavorful' action required dice.
Male Human Acolyte
Once it is obvious the two men are currently no threat, Vorik walks over to Dorn, and speaks with him quietly. "Let's not overly antagonize our cover, yes? I understand your misgivings, and they are sound, but it is not our call to make. However, since you are so concerned with these two, as leader of our group, I task you with watching over them, and making sure they cause no trouble."
Male Human Acolyte
I kept my post vague as I couldn't remember the names of who was paired with me, just that I had two other PCs. Also, I think it's slightly confusing because initially when I had my intro, it seemed like Vorik and Mawj would be working closely, and then we were 'split' into different groups.
Male Human Acolyte
Except, only diplomacy calls out it can be used on NPCs. One would think that, had Paizo wanted intimidate to only work on NPCs, they would say that, just like they did with diplomacy. Also, sure, Kyo is now unfriendly towards me. That is not a permanent state, especially when he is, in fact, a PC.
Male Human Acolyte
If somebody could be so kind as to point out where in the description is says intimidate can not be used on PCs, I would be rather grateful. Please note, under diplomacy, it specifically calls out NPCs, thus, it would appear intimidate can in fact be used against PCs. All intimidate requires is the person be an opponent. It doesn't even require you to be in combat.
Male Human Acolyte
Vorik turns to Kyorruel, the mace in his hand still dripping with blood and fleshy bits. "I struck the killing blow, do you not think I deserve first call on the traitor's possessions? I would like his armor." As he says the last word, he very pointedly taps Kyo on the chest with his weapon. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Intimidate, to make Kyo friendly, DC 11
Male Human Acolyte
Real nice, I go out to celebrate my birthday with friends I haven't seen in several months, and ya'll divvy up the loot. I scored the critical(ha!) killing blow, yet apparently am getting nothing. Armor, ring and cloak would all be desirable, with the armor topping my list, as I have a mere 11 AC otherwise...
Male Human Acolyte
Vorik listens to the discussion between the clerics and those he had gathered. It was an interesting back and forth, and he learned a great deal. When it was revealed Roland was a traitor, the young acolyte showed no sign of surprise. Such was uncommon, but not unexpected. He steps over to Roland, calm as can be, and smashes him in the head with his mace. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Possible crit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 unsure if confirmed, base damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
