I've updated my payment info and would like to have my subs shipped as soon as possible. I also have two questions: Which products are going to be shipped? My subs have been suspended for a while and I am several months behind. Is it possible to ship everything in one box to save on shipping costs? Thanks again for the great products and wonderful customer service!
When my bank received the authorization for my upcoming subscription shipment, they charged me a NFS fee, because even though I haven't been charged yet, there was not enough in the account to cover the authorization. My question is, if I change my shipping option to the one monthly option, will the shipment (and thus the authorization and charge) occur at the same time every month? Also, can you suspend my subscription shipment until next Friday, April 23. Thanks

Sean, that is an excellent idea. The Community College in my town has a fairly big art department. GP, I've never bought art before, so I wasn't sure about what kind of quality I could get for my budget. You have happily proven me wrong. The pieces you linked are exactly the quality I was hoping to get. Your advice will help me a lot. Thanks. Pres man, Lillith, and Caineach, thanks bunches for the tips.
wraithstrike and hunter1828: Thanks for the input. Stock art is someting I hadn't even thought about. Thanks for the tip. Xaaon of Xen'Drik wrote:
I am open to anything that gets art in my module, so stock art and licensing (opposed to buying) art sound like my best options. I will post a description of the pieces I'm looking for in the next couple of days so that you are any other interested artist can see exactly what I am looking for. As to the maps, I'm decent enough at cartography and pretty good with Photoshop, so I don't think that will be an issue. However, I will post a description of the maps for the module in case any cartographers are interested. Thanks again to everyone for the input.
B&W pics of NPCs and action shots of the major encounters. I'm not really sure about any of the specifics yet. The best case scenario for me would be to get portraits of six major NPCs and 6-8 action shots in B&W and a cover piece in color, for less than $200, but I don't know if this is reasonable.
I'm writing a module that I hope to publish as a PDF. However, my art budget is very limited. The way I see it, I have 4 options.
What would be more likely to turn you off of a product, Bad Art or No Art? If there are any artists who are interested in working with me on this project, please drop me a line at radunnam@gmail.com Thanks. EDIT: fixed some typos.

I laughed out loud standing out side of the theater, watching the 200+ people coming out throw 200+ pairs of plastic 3D glasses in the TRASH. Especially when there was a "Recycle your 3D glasses here" box 3 steps away.
In my Modern and Sci-Fi d20 games, I use the following variants. These rules are for modern firearms, but dropping the Mag rules should get pretty close to flintlock firearms. Vitality and Wound Damage from Unearthed Arcana.
Pistol 2d4 Ballistic damage; Crit range 18-20; Mag 10 rnd box +1*
*The +1 is the in the chamber Loading 1 cartridge into a magazine is a move full-round action unless you use a speed loader or some other loading aid, then its a move. Changing a box magazine is a move action. Non-Lethal attacks do Vitality Damge.
These rules make firearms DEADLY and cover becomes very important. Normal characters die very often in my Halo game, PCs are generally Spartans (super-soldiers equipped with energy shields) and tend to survive only a little longer. I also have rules for burst-fire and full-auto if your interested.
I just saw this movie on DVD. It was excellent. Did anyone else notice that the big sniper rifle toward the end was the same one from the Halo short but with a different scope. I'm a huge Halo nerd and the profiles of the weapons from the game are burned into my retinas. You can get a better look at it in the special features.

The director, Neil Blomkamp, was the guy supposed to direct the Halo movie before it died because MS wanted a bigger cut of the profits than any movie studio was willing to give them. Sort of bitter-sweet, if the Halo movie had gone forward, we wouldn't be getting to see this one.

At least it wasn't, "HANS, GRUBEL, ADMINISTER THE FLUGENLICHTLEGEN!" I'm embarrassed that I like that movie. It's so stupid and most likely offensive to Europeans (not being one, I couldn't say for sure), but it's just so damn funny.

Sorry for the long absence. I finally managing to get caught up with school and work after my vacation. I just bought a new computer and HDTV (woohoo for Pell grants!!!) and had to spend two full afternoons slaving away to set everything up because my maid, butler, and full time nanny didn't know how to do it. Life sucks. [/sarcasm] Joking aside, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday are no good for me to post. If Davos's turn comes up on one of those days, somebody needs to take my turn for me. I'll usually post general directions on what I want Davos to do during the encounter. If this becomes a problem and I need to drop out of the game just let me know, I'll understand. Have fun on your vacation Aubrey (or "Welcome back" depending on when you read this).

Guys, my internet has been down since Saturday and does not look like it will be back up before the end of the week. I go on vacation Monday the 18th through Sunday the 24th. My internet should be back up by the time I get back. Davos's profile is in need of an update, but I won't have the time to do it before I leave. Sorry for the inconvenience.

By now, several people have been drawn out of their homes by the noise of battle. Some are armed and open fire on the zombies. Others are stunned into shock and beset upon by the ravenous undead. The one nearest Kurt tries to grab him again, but the skilled road warrior manages to evade the zombie's clutching hands. I made his grap check for him. Several zombies take bullets from the townsfolk, but only one goes down as the shot pierces it's head. Sprocket is up.

Mass Effect is one of last year's best games. It is one of the few examples of "video games as art." The story line is excellent, with deep, believable characters and plenty of plot twists. If you liked Bioware's other RPGs (Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire), you'll like Mass Effect. The controls are smooth, and once you get a little practice, activating powers becomes very easy. Most of the characters have deep back stories that you discover through dialog. The whole game is voice acted, no reading through pages of dialog. The main story line is fast paced, the 6 missions take about 20 hours to complete. However, there are a ton of side missions. I'm on my fourth play through. The side missions get very repetitive, especially if you are an Achivement Whore. The voice acting is spotty in some places (Ashley, Liara, and Tali are the worst example). The inventory system really pisses me off sometimes. Their is a bit of PG-13 sex toward the end, but only if you go through all of the dialog with a character. Might not be suitable to play in front of little ones. Well worth the 60 bucks for the X-Box 360 version. Haven't played the PC version.

I bought the 4E PHB and went to the D&D Game Day. I have to say that combat drags on forever. It took almost 5 hours to do one puzzle and 4 combats. All of us players had PHBs and the DM had a set of books and ran Keep on the Shadowfell a couple of weeks earlier. It wasn't that we spent time learning new rules, combat just takes forever. In one encounter, I went from almost dead to full hp three times. The enemies have an assload of hp. The large white dragon had 200 hp and the two animated statues had 89 hp each. Average damage from us was around 8 points per hit. From the baddies, it was closer two 20. As the parties wizard, I had 23 hp. The fighter had around 30 I think. The battle with the statues was nasty. They have an at-will full-round attack that knocks you prone if it hits, then they get a free secondary attack against any prone targets adjacent to them. If you try to stand up, their AoO knocks you back down. Fey Step (a racial teleport power) and Thunderwave (a push-back spell) saved my ass. Spells no longer feel "special" like in 3.5. Blasting off a Magic Missile feels like firing off a bolt from a crossbow. All of the classes are now basically the same. I'm not yet sure if this is good or bad. The number of magic items in the book is disappointing. All in all however, I had a blast playing. That's the main thing, it was still fun to play. However, until Paizo stops producing high-quality APs, I'll stick with 3.5.
I used Kinko's Print Online Service. I printed it double-sided in B&W, card stock cover in color, spiral-bound. It cost me about $19.50. I paid online with my credit-card and picked up my order from the store (you can also choose to have it shipped to you, but you have to pay shipping). I never had any problems or issues about copy writes. It looks better than I expected in B&W. The artwork is still very clear, much better than the Savage Tide Player's Guide I printed at home. I had one issue however. In the online proof I was presented with, all of the "A"s in the titles were missing. It was only the "A"s and only in the titles. This did not show up in the final product however. When I asked the clerk at the store, she said that she didn't know much about the online service, she just made up the orders that she was given. All in all it was a good experience and I plan to use them to compile RotRL.
I agree with KnightErrant. I already make delve-like encounter sheets for my Savage Tide game, and it would be awesome if I could just download them. It helps me keep track of what is going on in the encounter. But having them included in the page count of the adventure is a lot of wasted space. Also, if a publisher wanted to make modules for multiple systems, they could have the rules-neutral story elements in the main body, and the encounter pages for whatever system. Instead of paying $10 for a module, you could pay $5 for the story and $5 for the encounters. Then you could run the same adventure for your Wed. night group that plays Pathfinder and your Sat. afternoon group that plays 4E. Some people buy modules only to rape the encounter ideas and don't use the story bits, some people only use the bare story and design encounters to fit their group. This approach could make it simpler and cheaper for these people. It would also allow for a company to support any number of rules systems with out worrying about one of them becoming obsolete. However, I have to say I like my Pathinder just the way it is.
