![]() Before you get into tier discussions, with the second and third paragraphs, you determine your APL. If your APL is 2.49 and below your APL is 2
You are correct that the language in this section is confusing. You shouldn't look at tiers, until the APL of the group is determined. Then these instructions are clearer. ![]()

Valgor Sense Motive:

Valgor? ![]()
![]() In most cases I would only recommend the core characters. The reason for the core are:
![]()
![]() Well blasts aren't spells. Reading the feats, spell focus and elemental focus, they specifically call out spells. There is a feat specifically designed for this called Ability Focus, but for a lot of GMs and for PFS this is a monster only feat and not available. I would like this to work for my Kineticist's blasts, but need some sort of FAQ or proof this would work... ![]()
![]() I must have missed this before, I think I might try the Jiggy method for my next character. 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14 +5
14
Thats a pretty weak stat aray... Race: 1d100 ⇒ 8

![]() As I understand it, the vanity followers are not able to be targeted and are considered not in the area when combat happens. This works for both players and GMs. So a player can't use a vanity follower to hold things or provide any combat effect at all. And as far as the NPCs that your GM controls the vanity follower doesn't exist. ![]()
![]() Which character would you rather play? I didn't run my first character to 12 through Eyes, since I really loved my 5th one. I really don't see a problem with you ghosting part 1, this is such a limited play experience that it won't hurt things. Though I'd probably go with the replay star and use the bloatmage. The new Seeker stuff coming out soon™ sounds like it won't be as level strict as EotT as well. ![]()
![]() Generally you can complete the scenarios in any order. There are a few that the boon on the last sheet indicates it needed to be in order. If possible you should try to play them in order, but it is not necessary. If you are talking about a sanctioned module or adventure path, then these do lock your character in until you complete them. In the case of a module/AP the guide to roleplaying guild organized play pdf has instructions on how to deal with missing parts, generally your rewards would be lessened depending on how much missed. ![]()

Over the din of the battle, it sounds like someone climbed the stairs and may have opened a door. The bandits are dropping quickly now that the heroes have found their stride! Just under half the bandits are dead or bleeding out. Initiative Order

Raider 2 moves so that he can swing at the healer, provoking multiple attacks. Faux and Vaethic make quick work of the bandit.
Raiders 9 and 10 move into position to attack Valgor, coughing and retching. Valgor cuts down the unarmored and very sick raider 9, and easily dodges raider 10's weak attack. Valgor AoO on Raider 9: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

![]() I would like to point out that the core assumption doesn't mean you don't need to "own" a core rulebook. It generally means that we don't need to ask you to see it for rule questions. If you are actively advertising you do not have one, you may be asked to leave a table. There is an exception for brand new players, and that length of when a new player is not new anymore is not a specific time line, it would be up to the local VO or GMs judgement... ![]()

Raider 7 falls into a bloody pile, barely recognizable as a person anymore after Faux's incredible sword work! Raider 1 turns and moves quickly to the opposite side of the house. "Some of you, with me! Out the front door and we can surround them! You too Tenpenny!" Initiative Order
Bring it Valgor! ![]()
![]() In regards to the Arena that Flite mentioned, I actually run that event at the local cons. The only time we can really do it is after the Saturday night session. It's a PVP tournament and I select various pregens or npc codex characters. Winner usually gets a book from our prize support, and everyone who participates gets a boon. We experimented with capture the point/king of the hill but I'm thinking of going back to straight PVP for the November convention. Working on making the arena cooler. Might add wandering monsters to increase the difficulty. ![]()
![]() Who doesn't allow higher level characters in Tier appropriate games? Probably should text me with this info. "Praise in public, discipline in private" to paraphrase our glorious leader.. As one of your VO's and an occasional organizer, I strongly discourage a level 9, in a 5-6 tier game, with all other characters lower level. Even aware players like yourself unintentionally overwhelm encounters, and while you make sure to share the spotlight, many of our players do not. However, I don't think I've turned anyone away other than a 7th player or illegal character. I usually allow the 7th, but if the table doesn't want a 7th... ![]()

The event organizer has no control over people being jerks at the tables, the only people with that control are the "jerks" themselves. 1 table events are very common, due to space, community, and more probably willing GMs. To try and pass blame for someone's bad behavior on to the people who arrange and probably GM these games is insulting. ![]()
![]() At Paizocon, I talked with John about this. The sense I got was that Andrew is right, not likely before October. I've been running it for a while and we should finish up book 3 mid August, we might be able to get sheets for books 4-6! I hope. A player I would love to have played with us, refused partially because of the no chronicle sheet issue. This is too bad, since the AP is awesome. ![]()

![]() OK. I will be preparing and building for a big post tomorrow. I will run through a couple of hours of time in game with a description and then we will be on a new map ready to begin! I know I'm bad too, but we all need to pick up on checking and posting rate. Also don't be afraid to be chatty and post multiple time in a day, especially if characters are between combat stages and are chatting. You have til tomorrow to finish up any chat between characters before I move along tomorrow. ![]()
![]() As a VO, my job is not to verify your book purchases. I have a multitude of other things to do as Pirate Rob mentioned. This thread is the same as the last bunch of threads that Nefreet posted campaign leaderships responses too. There are solutions, you don't like them. From the previous threads it seems that most of the Venture Officers that have chosen to chime in are also supportive of the current rulings. To sum it up, I do not want to be the Paizo book police. ![]()
![]() These ideas are awesome. I'd love to implement them, though there are issues beyond the coolness that I'm not sure Paizo would want to deal with, such as an expanded liability and typically volunteers that work unsupervised with children require background checks and fingerprinting. Though I don't see why this couldn't be available to the con in general, as I'd like to participate in some of these too. ![]()
![]() Mark Moreland's Kyra saved Golarion by offering her/himself as herald at the cost of only 10s of thousands of worlds being fed to his insatiable hunger. Though when asked for a surfboard to do the job, Crystal informed us that we are stuck with inline scooters now. The Delves were great! Thanks for having them! ![]()
![]() 2nd Paizocon, and frankly the best con I've attended anywhere. First - Thanks to all the Paizo staff, you are the most courteous and approachable celebrities anywhere! I'd especially like to compliment you for your registration line awesomeness on Friday morning, I appreciated it last year and while I didn't use it this year the speed and accuracy was truly amazing. Also as mentioned above, your timeliness to the panels and events you were scheduled for shows us how much you care for your fans, though sometimes I wish you would have let panels run a little long since I was enjoying them greatly. Scheduling As a Tier 1 GM, the middle slot open was very appreciated. This allowed me to attend multiple panels and still have time for lunch and some last minute review/prep. Unfortunately there were still some panels I really would have loved to attend which overlapped with PFS time.
