Removed some posts that were needlessly aggressive, and the direct responses to those posts.

While political threads are normally not allowed on our forums, this discussion is important to have in the larger context of the world. Police brutality is not a political issue but a human right issue. We value the perspectives of our community and we want to continue to hear what you have to say and create a space for discussion.

Keep the discussion respectful. Racism and belittling others will not be tolerated on our forums. Create space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to be heard.

The thread will remain unlocked for the time being. While political threads are normally not hosted here, this discussion is important to have, and the perspectives and critiques here are important so that we can see what our community has to say and take that into account going forward to inform our decisions going forward.

As most of you have been, keep the discussion respectful, especially in regards to the voices of the marginalized, as they are the ones most deeply affected by the current situation. I have removed some posts that were needlessly aggressive, and those that contained the quoted post.

The conversation has devolved into something far removed from the OP’s question, and James’ answer. Since the OP's question has been answered and given the significant amount of removed posts and replies, this thread has been closed.

On our forums it is not okay to dictate what should or should not be offensive to others.The lived experiences and feelings of marginalized people are varied and valid. Debating and contradicting actual experiences of other people is not acceptable.

Bringing in commentary about the biology of real life people is not appropriate in a thread that was intended to be about Drow appearing lilac or blue. In particular, the sciences involving gender and biology has been plagued with misogyny, transphobia, and bigotry. Bringing these topics into threads about roleplaying games is fraught with issues; issues that can make our forums feel hostile towards people in our community.

If you realize beforehand that something you are about to say is inflammatory, do not post it to our public forums where people from all walks of life are welcome.
Attacking each other personally and demanding that your opinion be taken as the be all, end all is not accepted on our forums.

This discussion went off the rails, and strayed into territory inappropriate for our forums. I understand that tensions are high, and this time is traumatic, I truly do. Washington has been doing all that it can to flatten the curve, and ensuring that its residents stay safe.

Removed a post with a word we do not allow on our forums. There are ways to indicate you find something nonsensical or not to your liking that don't use words we ban on our forums.

Alright folks, this is going off the rails. You're absolutely allowed to have any opinion you want, to agree or disagree with the devs or with each other, but aggression like this won't be tolerated. Don't try to get around our profanity filter, and treat others with respect, despite the differences in opinions you may have.

Don't lash out at others, and keep arguments and discussions civil, and we can get this back on track.

Is it possible for most of you to work from home?

We're working on logistical options to make sure that everyone remains healthy and so that we can take care of y'all at the same time.
