Haha, the moment any creature goes above the crowd, it's time for AoEs since you can target it with reckless freaking abandon.
Utopian: Violant says as she snaps her fingers, and you hear a massive boom as the air around the Vrock detonates into a ball of fire as she prepares Acid Arrow once again.
"Thank you for flying away from the crowd."
Violant, stunned, hurls
Violant sends an acid arrow at the creature, then raises her shield as she prepares to cast it again.
Violant once again repeats, before relenting that she'll have to use elemental spells after this, mumbling in Utopian. Utopian:
"We both shouldn't be here, how much longer do we have until the Hounds catch up with us in a world we don't belong in?"
Meanwhile, Violant silently fascinated with a premaster creature that she's trying to kill with mental damage in the corner:
Violant doesn't know why, but she seems utterly fascinated by the creature. She feels some sort of odd kinship with it, aside from its demonness... but it seems very demon-like so she decides to try bringing it down a pit of despair in a nice bit of irony. [Violant will raise shield, then cast Agonizing Despair (DC 22 Will)]
Violant just shrugs. She has no idea what they are.
Professor Turra relays the translation of the Draconic, slurring and all. She also tries to identify the blood-sucking bat creatures. They could just be oversized vampire bats, named for their habbits, but you can never be too sure.
"Please, do stay with us if you need shelter for the night," Viiolant says. "Least we can do for my dumb mistake. Firebomb the Dahak statue."
"I apologize about my... rashness. My education was in mathematics primarily, though I'm a wizard for the sake of self-defense. My typical solution is to... admittedly, throw fire at anything that isn't clearly immune," Violant says with a somber chuckle. "The Mwangi elves were the one that bestowed this staff upon me, I don't usually have Translate prepared but it would be a good decision in the future. It was no problem, and we hold no grudge against you. You're not yourself under another's control aside from a few things like expertise."
Violant tries all the language she knows (Varisian, Common, Empyrean, Draconic, Elven, and Utopian). Failing that, she pulls out her staff with translate stored, and points at it and her mouth, as if to say. Translate prepared.
Violant yells loud profanities in Utopian, preparing a non-elemental spell next.
Either way, Violant realizes that the creatures are being controlled, and possibly could do more. She frantically points at the pillar, trying to say the pillar first! These might be innocents! Utopian:
"Pillar! Some kind of controlling magic, can't exactly determine what kind of enchantment it is. But, F+&$ ENCHANTMENT." She sees blue, and common logic dictates to throw fire at the problem. So, as she's wanton to do, she throws fire at the problem, only managing to accidentally catch one gripli.
Violant sighs, points at the pillar desparately as she tries to recognize what it's doing.
Violant relays what she knows to the rest of the group, being her usual self and flip-flopping betwween "Grippli" and "Tripkee" throughout the explanation.
Violant, however, tries to recall knowledge on everything else in the area. Namely, the humanoids.
"I have nothing against the destruction of evil that purely exists to destroy, and where no use can be extracted. Dahak is that kind of evil. They aren't Nin, they aren't Haagenti, they aren't Asmodeus, they aren't anyone with anything to offer. All they offer is burning everything down."
Electricity sparks meaninglessly in the air.

Violant quickly messes with time itself to avoid the brunt of the damage of the eye beam, only ending up being blinded for 1 hour as opposed to the entire day. Utopian:

Violant will do her usual activity even during exploration, and that sounds good to me, Samael

"Maybe we can decide based on whoever guesses closest to the current time," Violant says (quite obviously, in fact) jokingly, hinting at something she's just figured out. I'm walking Hound of Tindalos bait now, aren't I? Shit. she thinks to herself.

I'll have everything updated soon. I know that Kreighton's Cognitive Crossover is PFS and is uncommon... but Violant's entire gist is being interdisciplinary. I'd have done it with Lore: Mathematics and Arcana if Lore: Mathematics had been useful enough to take, for the record. Failing that, I'll probably just pick up Extra Lore: Mathematics.
"I would be honored to explore as well." Later, though, Violant practically drools at both the librarian staff and the charm of fire resistance. "I'd be glad to take the staff, and does anyone want the Charm of Fire Resistance? I'd need some time for it to replace my current amulet , if I do take it. But multiple staves is no problem."

Roslar's Coffer, where I lived most of my life, was destroyed by the Radiant Fire. The Radiant Fire, to the best of my knowledge, is still unknown what exactly it is beyond being some kind of necromantic superweapon powered using the shards of the shattered shield of Arnisant, also known as Aroden's shield." Violant sighs, "luckily, I was away at university at the time, so I was spared from the destruction that came to Lastwall for it being a nation of crusaders who had revenge in store for them. After I graduated from Twilight Academy in Varisia, I... was at a complete loss of what to do with my life. Were it earlier that this event happened, I would probably become a wandering Chamberlain. But, mastering multiple magic sources, i.e. divine and arcane, is absurdly difficult, so I decided to become primarily an adventurer and take a 'gap year,' even though I was scheduled to be a professor of mathematics at Ustalav." She then takes a sip of water, before continuing. "I decided to take up adventuring and tutoring for a year while I contemplate my life, and grieve my lost family. After this is over, I hope to better understand the technologies funneled into Ustalav with mathematics -- I have had enough of adventuring for one lifetime . I'm not really a wizard by profession, this is just the best way to defend myself. Sorry if it was boring, but I lead a boring life besides my homecountry becoming the Gravelands."

She then sighs. "Don't ask me of the Spiresworn though, they are very secretive -- so there's not much written about them. Your guess as to what they are like is as good as mine."

"The wandering Chamberlain that introduced me to Alseta told me both of the kinds of people become chamberlains -- surprisingly lots of alchemists -- and a few stories of what she's done. But She's nowhere as prolific as Sarenrae, so I don't have a favorite," Violant says as Lyra veers into religious territory.
Violant wipess the blood and bone out of her eyes. "Ptah... why does any creature need a defence like that."
Violant just stares there... dumbfounded as she gets spattered with blood and bone, effectively killing her concentration.
