Bloodline: Sage isn't an archtype, it's a bloddline choice of the Sorcerer class. @jbadams

Question about an interaction involving the Sorcerer. Say he took the Sage, Associated Bloodline: Arcane. His Bloodline power, Arcane bolt, replaces arcane bond. Now say he is also using the Tattooed Sorcerer Archtype. His Familiar Tattoo says it replaces the 1st-level bloodline power. The question being, which overrides the other if even possible? Is this combination allowed and does it effectively give the sage a bypass to losing arcane bond? I'm hoping it works that the bloodline Arcane Bolt would be replaced but if you choose the Archtype first does that make picking sage impossible as it has no arcane bond to replace?

I have a quick question about the Faith trait Inspired. It states,

Quote:
Benefit: Once per day as a free action, roll twice and take the better result on a skill check or ability check.

I'm hoping you could see your first roll before activating this but I need to know for certain. Do you have to declare you're using this ability before you roll?

Assuming the rogue can exit a threatened square without provoking an AoO, as far as the whole run away and stealth bit.

Since the target is flat-footed still they cannot make an AoO.

The idea was that after his melee swing on the first turn he would then use his move action to run to cover/concealment where he would then use stealth; therefore, he isn't using stealth while he is attacking but rather on the second half of his turn afterwards. Would you say this is still not possible?

Assume the Rogue wins the initiative check & perception check to stealth.
Also both people are lvl 1 and the Rogue is TWF with no range weapons.
Assume the target can one shot the rogue if given a roll to swing.

During the surprise round if the target was close enough for a 5-foot step for the rogue to close the distance could the rogue 5-step and melee attack during surprise round; moreover, could he then proceed to take his normal initiative turn in the first round taking a full two swings at the target resulting in 3 attacks before their turn?

Also, since the target is flat-footed could he opt to only take one swing on his normal turn and then move back into cover/concealment and re-stealth?

Should he re-stealth is a new surprise round possible? How long could he trail a target in stealth before being able to re-open on them in the exact same way above?

I was thinking that the rogue might need hit and run tactics for a 1v1 against foes who can one shot them level 1. Please give me feedback on how hit and run tactics would be possible or ways to deny the target a chance to swing.

Thank you for any thought you put into my request and your helpful responses.

Okay. I guess everything will balance out. Thank you for your responses everybody. This was my first post and the quickness and effectiveness of the forum was surprising. Well done gents and any gentettes

With 2d6+12 Barbarians and 5d4+1 Wizards how does 1d6+1d6 with 1d6+1d6 Rogues make it? Barbarians have such natural great hit chance and Burning hands lands every time with just a Reflex save for half damage, meanwhile the the rogue has to ambush or flank with another player for half of his damage on top of having to make two low hit bonus swings to deal the other half all of which falls shorter than the other two classes. With a high chance of failure, low situation chance of occurrence, and feat starvation just to wield two-weapons and actually have more than a negative hit, the Rogue seems completely sub-par combat wise.

EDIT: Grammar

How can you bring a Wizard's Burning Hands to that at level 1?

Well the fact that he can one shot almost any monster in a balanced level 1 encounter with a great hit bonus of +5 on top of having potentially the most HP possible makes him the best level 1 character. Maybe I was hoping it wouldn't be true.

I just want to check that I have the math right on this because it seems a little broken Level 1.

Ok so we're dealing with a Barbarian, 16 Str, wielding a Longsword with both his hands in rage using power attack.

Level 1 Barbarian
-----------------
To hit: +5. | +1(BAB), +3(STR), +2(RAGE), -1(PA)

DMG: 1d8+9
+3(STR)
+2(RAGE)
+1(1.5x 3 STR = 4.5, so +4 STR total(One handed Weapon with both hands.))
+3(PA(+2 with +50% for holding one handed weapon with both hands))

From others posts that I've read this seems to be right but at the same time it's too ridiculous to believe. Can anyone confirm or deny this math?

EDIT 1: Thank you for the quick responses. Quick and helpful feedback. Nice community.
