Variel Imbues his bow with his spark of arcane might and tries to shoot the nearest Mephit with 2 arrows.

Round overview (assuming he drew his bow while moving closer : Swift action to activate Arcane Strike which also makes weapon count as magic for DR purposes (if necessary), Full round action taking 2 shots via Rapid Shot feat. Assuming there is at least 1 mephit within 30 ft to make use of Point Blank Shot (if not subtract 1 from both attack & damage).

Attack 1: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 23 Damage if hit: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 7

Variel whispers back to Getoff Mylawn and the rest of the group, "Does anyone have a net of some sort? Might be the easiest way of capturing him. Or do we just try to get closer and knock him out like we tried at the inn?"

"Well I shall be heading out already. Can't let those tracks get cold. If you still have some things to arrange, you can do so." Variel stands up and bows towards Gregor. "It should be easy enough to catch up with me. I will be moving slower than I normally would as following tracks takes careful attention."
With this said, Variel stands up, bows towards Gregor and swiftly goes to where they stopped following the mauve miscreant. He first surveys the scene to find the proper set of tracks to follow.
Perception(finding tracks): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
When he finds the set he thinks belong to the heliotrope halfling, he starts following them.
Survival(tracking): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

I just noticed that no-one in the party has any skill in survival. I had specifically not taken it for my elf, to not be the typical "ranger" type elf ... but if we really need/want a tracker I could exchange ride for survival. Only if it's ok with the gm. Will decide how my answer will be to Gregor ;)

"You have my sword and bow! I was looking for a worthy quest and this is one if I ever saw one!", Variel with a louder voice than he had wanted. He changes his posture and bows apologetically "My apologies for my tone, I was still excited from the combat we had with this purple scoundrel."
Afterwards, he sits back down at the table.

Seeing the shots of the others fly wide, Variel decides not to shoot any of his arrows and stows his bow. Not wanting to accidently hit any of the innocent bystanders. "Barkeep, I do not wish to intrude, but your patrons are starting to get unruly. You might want to do something about it, lest they destroy your establishment." Variel says hesitantly to Gregor.

So that would make him have a movement speed of 70 feet (as avoiding AoO's through acrobatics makes you move at half speed for the squares that are threatened normally)

"I may be new to this country, but I do know that theft isn't condoned anywhere. So I will not sit idly on the sidelines." with these words Variel swiftly moves over to the crazed halfling while drawing his curve blade from its sheath. He twists the blade slightly in order to strike the halfling with the flat of the blade.
Right before the blade swings toward the halfling a shimmer of light passes through it.
non lethal attack: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 4 = 17 possibly another +2 from flanking, not certain.
damage if hit: 1d10 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15
move to get to the halfling. Free action to draw sword as part of move. Swift to activate arcane strike and standard to attack.

Last week, last month, I think this man's mind is living in the past... Variel thought after hearing Getoff speak of his last meeting with Thanopsis. He continued the conversation in Elven, "I am here to learn more of the people of these lands and their customs. But currently I am actually looking for adventure, that's why I came to this Inn."

@Getoff Mylawn. My character does not have knowledge history, but seeing that Thanopsis was head of the magic academy, he also must have been part of one of the higher noble families in the radiant court. Hence he'll take 10 on a knowledge(nobility) check for a 15 ;)

Variel is a bit startled and also happy to hear someone speak his native tongue, he sits down in front of Getoff Mylawn. He replies in Elven, "You must be a great arcanist to speak of headmaster Thanopsis in such a familiar manner. I am not on an errant on his behalf, but now I wish I was, for it would mean he would still be amongst the living. It has already been sevaral decades since he passed away. But it is good to meet a colleague of his in these strange lands. What is your name good sir?"

While saying all of this, some of the new people arrive. It's good that I may at least have one friend here. The place is getting more crowded than i had expected it to be.

I use italics for thoughts and "bold with quotation marks for speech out loud", and if it's in hushed tones/whispered/shouted/... I usually mention it with the text.

Outside the Corner Inn stood a tall elf who was leafing through a journal. Yes, yes, this is most certainly the place I was told about in Cobbleton. Lets hope there are some good jobs left for a fledgling adventurer as myself.... he thought after finding the name he had written in his journal a few days ago.

Uncertain of who or what he'll find inside this humble inn, he cautiously entered, journal still in hand.

He was pleased to see that the place wasn't brimming with adventurers, vying for a few measly jobs, so he relaxed a little.

His attention was drawn to the group who was talking with the barmaid, at which point he also sees Sayyesss, the Sorceress. He stood there a bit baffled while thoughts started rolling through his mind, What business does an orc have in this inn... Oh wait no, she is a half-breed. I had heard humans slept with anything that remotely resembles a female, but to sleep with an orc, the thought alone is horrifying. I must say she looks very different from what one would expect of such a pairing ... No, stop thinking that, she's still part orc, keep your wits about.

After this internal monologue, the elf had worked up the courage to walk up to the group.

"Greetings and well met, I am Variel Undovir of Illumnor, may I take a seat at this table in exchange for a round ..." he paused mid sentence, seeing the drinks standing in front of those seated at the table. Hmm, they already have drinks, what else could one offer as a way of appeasing ... ah, yes that will work "... bowl of stew for everyone?" That'll do, that'll do...

Standing behind the seat he had chosen he waits if the group accepts his offer.

The elf in front of you all stands 6 feet 5 inches tall. He has long dark hair, dark blue eyes and his face is covered in green elven tattoos.
He wears a pristine breastplate inscribed with elven lettering and upon his chest rests a golden necklace with a golden emblem in the middle, which resembles a sun.
A sturdy and well crafted longbow hangs affixed to his backpack, while at his side a beautiful elven curve blade rests in its scabbard.

I saw in your background that you have been with the illuminati elves, so this is what you know: He is clearly dressed in the attire of the Elven defenders, guardians of the isle of Illumnor, home of the Illuminati elves. The necklace is clearly the symbol of the "Daystar", main deity of their pantheon and the symbol of their nation. You have also heard of the name Undovir. It is a minor noble house which is part of the radiant court of Illumnor.
One thing you also know about the elves of Illumnor is that most of them have at the very least a spark of arcane might. This allows them to create light at will. (like the cantrip)

About the necklace:
This is the symbol of the "Daystar", the symbol of the Illuminati elves and the main deity of their pantheon

About Illumnor:
The isle of Illumnor lays in the western sea and is the home to the Illuminati elves.

For those with knowledge(Nobility) or maybe knowledge(Local) but at a higher DC, as it's not local to where you are now I guess?
About the name Undovir:
You have heard of the name Undovir. It is a minor noble house which is part of the radiant court of Illumnor.

For those of you who made at least one of these checks and have knowledge(Arcana)
Something special about this type of Elf:
Most of the elves of Illumnor have the spark of arcane might, this allows them to create Light at will. (like the cantrip)

I don't know what the appropriate DC's are for this info, but I'm of the believe there are more than 1 type of elf in the world of generica and for that reason not all of this would be common knowledge, you're of course free to read it if you like ;)

Background:

Variel is a skilled Elven defender capable of fighting with bow and curve blade, but the many years he has lived on the Illuminati island have sheltered him from any of the real dangers in life. Like most of his people he possesses the spark of arcane might. This allows him to create light where there previously was none. He spent many years training, both physically and mentally, but the knowledge he has learned about the world outside the island comes mostly from outdated manuscripts written by his ancestors.
So now an adult elf in his own right, he has set out into the world with journal and inkpen to learn first hand which knowledge is correct and what was still unknown so many years ago.
The little time he has already spent on the mainland showed him how little they knew about local customs and mannerisms. With this knowledge he knew that he would have to spend a longer period in these lands than he had initially expected. This meant he needed more disposable income so he has taken to the occupation of adventuring. As it would require him to only come in contact with a small group of people, rather than the amount you get when working in a shop or some other occupation.

This is what has led him to the Corner Inn on this beautiful day ...

About the drawbacks,
I'm liking the way they explained the xenophobic drawback, but if i'm not mistaken it's not really what xenophobia is. As although he is not trusting of those unfamiliar in ways/appearance. Doesn't mean he fears them.
Sheltered, I'm seeing as following : He has seem combat, but only in training, so the violence of a real fight is strange to him.

Will post in the discussion thread when I have an idea what he would say/do in the current situation.
