Valdern looks up and then down. Examining the cliff. "Yeah, I'd would prefer to head back down to a more comfortable height. All that climbing and chasing flying critters isn't my idea of fun." He walks over to Lorelei to assist in getting the rope ready.

Walking around the room, Valdern kicks some of the rubble out of his way. When the noise change from a thud to a clearly metallic tink, he looks down. He bends down to clear more of the rubble and discover a gauntlet. Examining it, he quickly realise that it is in fact, two magical objects, one being the gauntlet, the other the magical gem. Using a simple knack, he tries to identify their properties.

Valdern tries to duck safely from the explosion, but the dwarf was just too slow. As he falls to the ground, Rhyfedd vanishes from sight. As Valdern lay there, a wave of positive energy brings him back. Slowly he gets back on his legs. "What in the nine hells was that?" He uses some of his remaining psychic energy to mend some of his wounds.

Valdern, having recovered from the pain, tries another stab from his spear.

Looking at the map, none of the undead are in melee with Valdern, so I'm guessing that you forgot to move one.

Valdern feels the pain of the attacks twice. Once when he gets attacked, and then again when Rhyfedd syphon some of his life essence to remain on this plane. "Aarghh... Bloody hell, that hurt like crazy." He steps away from one of the undead while staying next to his phantom. Calling upon his psychic energy, he tries to heal some of the wounds that Rhyfedd suffered.

Cure Moderate wounds on Rhyfedd.

Quick question, does everyone strike off the items they take from the loot, cause I notice a good amount of item that are still in the loot sheet, yet also on people's character sheet.

For my part, I wouldn't mind getting the following items is still available:

+1 Mithral chain mail
+1 Seaborne Glaive

Though I won't be able to use the weapon and the armor until level 5.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't have waited for a rescue that might never arrive and instead forced my way out." He poses for a second, then continue. "Plus their story about having lost any memories of what happened just feel too convenient."

Valdern will call upon Rhyfedd and cast mage armor on the Phantom.

"They were indeed in the tower, but we didn't see any shapeshifting creature. Might I recommend that from now on, no one should be traveling alone around, or in the settlement until we get to the bottom of this." Valdern still seems to be thinking about everything they learned at the tower.

Once he is able to be alone with Ramona, he expresses his worries. "They both claim to have memory issues, and we didn't see the shape shifter. I suggest you keep an eye on both of them. There is something that doesn't feel right for me and I rather we stay on the safe side."

While the group talks, Rhyfedd moves toward the man. As he steps closer, his face, usually twisted in anger, seems to relax more. Intrigued, Valdern follows and starts sensing what Rhyfedd knows about the man. "He knows you... You were someone important... Arkley? Rayland Arkley! You were the leader. How did you come to end here as a prisoner? I have a hard time understanding that a retired Eagle Knight would just sit there and wait to be rescued?"

While everyone was exploring, Valdern was trying to understand the magical enchantment on the glaive. "Can't tell for sure what it is, but there is powerful magic on this weapon." He drags the weapon with him, following the group. "It is nice enough that I might just see if I can learn to use it." As he walks into the central room, he looks at the large water tank. "I don't like this. Unless there is some magical power here, that water should spill out the moment someone opens the door." He concentrates for a moment, trying to discern any magical aura.

Seeing Ebirah fall, Valdern turns slightly to Lorelei. "Don't worry about the lad, just make sure mister creepy here doesn't get his claw on you." He then stabs again at the skum, this time with better precision.

Valdern moves forward and tries to get a good hit on the skum. The tip of the spear head straight for a weak spot, but at the last second, Valdern lose sight of the target and he is unsure if he hit flesh or armor.

Too far to do anything about the creature, Valdern gets as close as he can. Rhyfedd follows the Channeler and stop just short of getting into melee with the skum. (Double Move)

With his spear firmly in hand, Valdern stabs at the skum. This time the spear strike true. The sharp tip finds a weak spot in the skum armor and dig deep into its flesh.

Valdern tries to use the reach of his spear to attack the skum, but fail horribly. Rhyfedd, anxious to get into battle, once again phases through the wall in the hope of flanking the Skums.

Once next to it, he signals at Rhyfedd to go ahead. The phatom stand in front of the door and then slowly phase through it, leave a white ectoplastic shape of himself on the door.

When, on the other side, Rhyfedd looks around while staying next to the door. Whether he sees anything or not, he crosses back to where the group is.

After having studied the statue, Valdern moves to the double doors. While he waits for the others to be ready to move on, he uses his magic to increase Rhyfedd's protection.

Valdern moves into the room and using the reach of his weapon, takes a stab at the remaining creature. "Well, the statues didn't attack us... so far. That count for something, right?"

Once the other dwarf is there, Valdern looks at the group. "There, I'm ready now. What about you guys?" When everyone is ready, Valdern will send Rhyfedd in first. The phantom will inspect the statue first, then move to the double door.

It took while for Valdern to notice what the group was talking about, but when he finally sees it, he explains what it is to the group. "Oh, that thing. That is an Azlanti clockwork spy. It records what it sees. Capturing it is tricky, however, since they tend to explode when attacked."

Costs 3000 sp, with a DC of 20, you'd need a total of 150 in check results... huh. :/ I didn't see skill focus being necessary, though.

When I calculate crafting, I assume a roll of 10. Currently my skill total is at 9, so not enough for a check of 20.

For now I picked the feat Phalanx Formation so that I can attack while hiding behind Rhyfedd without penalty. As for my Phantom, I picked Toughness.

For two weeks, Valdern man the forge. He feels at home near the fire and with a hammer in his hand. But he also feels Rhyfedd need for action. The phantom was restless and wanted to head back out. When Lyra shows up with news of possible exploration, Valdern realise that this might be just what Rhyfeed need.

"About five miles out for the first site, and seven for the other. That's about three hours walk just for the first one. Four for the second. We should plan enough supplies to camp out."
