Another way to go, and I haven't done any of the math so I don't know how "viable" it is, but what about multiclassing: sorcerer/ranger?

I don't think this is in any way a good idea, sadly. Given that this would require a great deal of stat investment (WIS/CHA/DEX) on a class that has terrible starting stats, the class features do not progress together so e.g. animal companion will be very weak and your spells will suck, and you are giving up arcane ability for improved martial ability which you are abysmal at, I think it probably goes into the 'non-viable' box.

Kobold Sorcerers should usually just go Sorc 20 and not mess around with delaying their spell progression. They gain nothing from dipping.

You could go sylvan bloodline for the AC and I believe there is a feat that lets you take a ranger trap and i'm pretty sure there are Kobold Feats in the Kobold book for taking ranger traps. Or ditch the AC and go empyreal bloodline with Ranger traps both running off wisdom.

2/5

Kobolds, definitely kobolds.

Am I a bad/wrong/evil/killer GM for considering this?

Yes, and Kobolds everywhere thank you. :)

Give them a Dragon Master and you solve your question why dragons have hoards and why these stupid Kobolds have all the cool gear.

Kobolds of Golarion has some feats to give them the ability to make ranger traps and a rogue archetype that lets them add in sneak attack damage. Plus some other cool Kobold gear.

Traps in places where you are concerned about other hazards and the things that hang around when the traps aren't consistently maintained, the traps to get them, and the biggest trap of all, class levels, cause "These are just kobolds, I'll wait 'til the real threat comes."

Must haves!

I played a kobold monk in 3.0, my GM really got to hate some tumble.

I really wish I could play one now.

Combat started when you screamed & pulled a sword.

Surprise round: you move 30 feet. I am flat-footed.

First real round: IF I won initiative, I'm no longer flat-footed and may respond.
IF you won, I'm aware of you charging at me, but haven't translated that to direct defensive action. Therefore, I'm flat-footed.

Fiction and the nightly news are rife with both examples and flat-footed is how Pathfinder (imperfectly) models it.

the news is rife with examples of it happening to commoners, not soldiers. Were talking about trained adventurers seasoned by combat. This is why I suggested that uncanny dodge be handed out to more than just the barbarian and rogue. Sure, maybe not everyone should be ready to dodge a blow in a split second, but anyone who frequents battle should be. It could at least be a feat that can he taken freely

They have that choice, it's called combat reflexes with a reach weapon and the ability to trip/disarm/sunder. If they don't want to do that the seasoning they're prepared with won't be their decision.

Yummm yummm yumm...

The union kindly requests that you recant and apologize for this slander.

We all know that murderhoboes, adventurer or otherwise, are a goodly people who do not deign to eat babies. We just kill, abduct, sell, or conscript them. Cannibalism is immoral and wrong and as such is solely the purview of the evil and insane, not murderhoboes.

Please apologize in a timely fashion, it would be quite unfortunate if something untimely were to happen to you in a secluded gutter of the city streets...

Sincerely yours,
~Jaspar "Shank Him Louis" Kahrdboordebachs~
your local GUMBO representative

P.S. Banditry is only banditry when you don't get a cut of the loot, otherwise it is like collecting taxes or borrowing property indefinitely-- perfectly legal.

Thank you for your kind request.

We ask that you bring your complaint in person to 1 Under the Mountain Plaza and wait patiently under the murder holes for the receptionists.

Maybe a murderhobo ate your baby!

an abomination for sure

Kobolds are so great even nerfing the attributes can't reduce their popularity.
