I would think just the one end. The staff magus can only attack with one end while using the staff one-handed. To attack with both ends (using it as a double weapon) would require two hands and thus you couldn't use spell combat. You could enchant both ends, like you said, paying double and taking two actions and two weapon fight when you weren't using spell combat.

True. It's why the Staff Magus gets Quarterstaff Master for free. However, you can still wield it as two hands to get that nice 1.5x damage bonus, which, when combined with Weapon Specialization (you qualify for free), can get you some hefty static damage.

I have been thinking about transitioning my Magus into a Staff user...it's an argument between having the crit possibilities or just having straight damage...

Curious to see what the new Investigator addition will be instead of Sneak Attack. I'm sort of bummed it's getting removed (because I actually was pretty pleased with the class when it came out), it will be interesting to see what kind of mechanic gets added. I just hope it's something to help aid with the class' combat prowess.

How are you getting to get sneak attack by moving through an enemy's space?

I think so. Depends on how the character dies and if he quit in a huff, then might as well divvy up the treasure and increase difficulty as necessary.

Secondary casters are always a welcome party member. Druids or a bard, depending on where your campaign takes you, into nature or through the cities, respectively.

Monks are also excellent fifth party members, as well. Extra damage, scouting, and general combat utility that doesn't involve magic.

You don't want to baby them, but at the same time, you don't want them to think there aren't consequences for things like crawling through fires to provoke AoP for a follow up attack...that doesn't sound like a very smart thing to do.
