After sorting through the aftermath of the fight, the three prisoners are secured in the shed. Oleg and Svetlana are happy, espexially about the demise of Haps.

"Please, come inside, I have food ready and we would like to discuss what is next."

Oleg listend to the conversation and chi,es in.
"I do have a stout shed that will do for an impromptu jail cell for now. And I am willing to follow whatever decision you make regarding the survivors as long as there is not a substantial risk to us."

Oleg helps set up makeshift barriers and pulls out the wagon as well. While making preparations, upi fond a couple of barrels of tar.

"We can spread this on the ground inside the gate, that should slow down their initial rush. It maight also make the explosion from the crate more effective.

Responding to Piret's questions, Oleg says, "They are almost always on foot, horses aren't that common among them. I have two wagons in the stable."

Bear traps? No, but now that you mention it, there is a crate of old Alchemist's Fire that Bokkem made that we were going to dispose of because they are leaking and unstable. Maybe you can rig something from that."
Oleg thinks for a moment.
"There may be as many as a dozen of them coming if Hap is involved."

Things you know so far:
The gate to the stockcade is broken and pegged open. It would take too long to repair. Eack corner of the stockcade has an unroofed watch platform that gives a good view of the area surrounding the trade post.

At supper that night, Oleg again looks worried.

"I think we may be paid a visit tomorrow. At least one of them escaped. There is one bandit, Haps Bowden, that is particularly vicious. I think he will be very anxious to punish us for today."

"I'm not too worried anout us. They will be looking for you and I can probably bribe thenm enough. Besides, I know Jamandi is sending a small patrol next week and they will be staying here."

In response to Stanislaw's comment, Oleg says, "They are definitely from the Thron River Ford camp. That camp acts a s a gathering point for their loot before it is sent South."

After the meal, Oleg and Svetlana sit with you to let you know all that they know.

"The bandits are far better organized than I think Restov knows. They collect "taxes" from all of us in the region. I fear for what will happen after today, as they are unused to any real resistance." Oleg says with some aprehension as he glances over to his wife.
"We have never seen this so called Stag Lord, wherever he makes home is far to the South. However, there is a semi-permanant bandit camp at the Thorn River ford West of here. It's about a day and half travel by horse, though really, by foot is not that much slower because of the terrain."

As Oleg talks more, you get the distinct impression that he is no stranger to more martial pursuits than just an innkeeper.

As the adrenaline abates, the wounds make themselves felt. The fight was quick, but intense. The two bandits that fled are no where to be found. Apprently they went over the back wall.

The man in the stained apron comes up to you.

"That was sastisfying, but I hope it doesn't make troubles worse." He says with a shake of his head.
I'm Oleg, I'm glad to meet you. Have you been sent by Jamandi? I was expecting a group from her."

"I can easily keep them locked up a couple of days." Oleg responds.

Oleg's knuckles whiten as he tightens his grip on his crossbow.
"The one with the mouth is Haps Boyden. If he is leading this group, that means they plan on killing everyone here."

"Hah, like I'd let them chase me inside!" Oleg says as hefts an immense crossbow in his hands.

Oleg shrugs.
"The gate needs to be replaced anyways..."

"I don't think we need any bait, as long as we don't hit them before they come in, they are pretty brash and confident. They will probably just walk in demanding that you surrender, they are used to their intimidation working."
Oleg chimes in.
"Perhaps the best use of Bokken's castoffs is right at the gate so we can catch a bunch of them as they get slowed down by the spilled tar. Then the young miss here can cast her spell behind them to trap them and also catch any archers they leave back?"

You get the impression that Oleg has some military experience.

"Oh, also, Jamandi sent a chest for you. It is in the room upstairs."

Oleg listens to the plans, but shakes his head.
"These are not disciplined troops. They will just scatter if you hit them on the approach. We need to get them into the courtyard and keep them from fleeing while not letting them overwhelm us. Otherwise they will just continue to raid at different intervals and you will be stuck here for Gods know how long."

Responding to kern, Oleg says, "Kressle, the woman, is the one that usually handles collections here. Despite her job, at least she keeps the others in line when they come here."
He rubs his chin as he thinks for a moment.
"However, your presence will demand a response. They will definitely send a group to deal with you. I would expect them to be here in six hours or so. If you aren't here when they show, I don't know how it will go for us."

"No, they never actually harm us, just bully and steal. Although who knows how rough it would get if we refused to hand over their "taxes." The man replies.
"I am Oleg, master of this trading post. You must be the group Jamnadi sent word of."
