ZzzZZzzzzz... Games are not updating... Anyone else noticed?
Breeze didn't exactly greet the newcomer warmly. Trust was going to take time. "Well, welcome to our squad, I suppose. We'll be making sure you carry your weight. I'm sure the Archbaron will value our reports after our next task." Tiriael's smile began to vanish as she listened to the retort - "Agreed. I will make sure of the same regarding yourself" - she nodded. "Do not let my partner's manners offend you, Miss Tiriael." Aevelyn returns the woman's smile warmly, yet not all of it reaches her eyes. "I am Aevelyn of the House Thassen. It is an honor to meet you. With your blade at our side our success, and the success of House Thrune, is assured!" "No offense was taken, since I am sure no offense was meant" - the tiefling replied in an even tone - "And we will be both recipients and vehicles for such success - my blade will be put to use to that purpose" Putting a freindly smile on her lips and turning to the newcomer, "Well meet Tiriael. I am Shiloh of House Darrow. Much like my cousin I am honored to meet you and have you join us." "I have heard some about your deeds and commitment, so the honor is reciprocal" - she nods again.
"It would be pointless, to say the least" - the tiefling's voice is melodic, yet strong - "And yes, I believe the objective, or at least the immediate one would be to guarantee success" - she nods, then moves into the light to gaze at the others - "Well met, I am Tiriael" - her skin is pale grey, and both her hair and eyes are jet black, seemingly drinking all the light in the room, and reflecting it back in specks of light. Her quite simple attire is also black, almost monastic and very well kept, as well as the weapons she is carrying - a massive greatsword at her back, the pommel worked into a pale hand balled into a fist (somewhat mirroring the symbol dangling at her neck and depicting again a pale hand now holding a black sword upright), a spiked mace and a sling. Her frame is lithe, but her steps are well balanced in spite of her load, and the inside of her forearm shows a recent scar shaped like the symbol of Cheliax.

Hello everyone, I would like to let you know that I will not continue playing this game with all of you. It is with a lot of discomfort, and a sense of having bitten a lot more than I can chew that I realized I cannot keep up with all the games I am currently involved with - I think it was maybe a 'noob to the boards' attitude that got me applying to way more games than I can actually keep up with. PbP, even more than other games requires commitment, and players that can keep the game going forward - unfortunately I cannot be that kind of player for such a massive amount of games, so I will step back and allow someone else to step in, someone that can be as proactive as this game deserves, as well as the others, with an actual rich and valid contribution - that is the stuff RPGs are made of. I want to offer my apologies, and vow I will not fall into the same mistake again. I have learned my lesson, even though I harmed the games I am currently leaving... I hope there will be a chance to play again wth all of you, in a fashion that actually allows me to 'play and participate' as I should, honoring the effort from the other players and GM. All the best to you.
Tiriael takes a step back, wanting to offer less of a chance for a spellscaster to blast them all away with a single spell - "Don't stay all bundled up - spread out, it is safer" - she urges her companions. After changing her positioning, she uses her supernatural powers of inspiration to bolster her companions.
Tiriael's mouth drops agape as she sees Kizza being shredded to pieces, her mind racing to understand what creature could do such a thing.
Reaching for the whip, her first impulse is to charge the monster, but she checks herself, instead opting for bolstering her companions, the banner held high on her left hand.
"If they are magically enchanted, it is normal that they do not give off heat" - Tiriael pipes in.
Tiriael shifts her positioning, cracking the whip at the Akata next to the Captain and Kizza.
Seeing the combat well in hand, Tiriael keeps on bolstering her companions, increasing their prowess with inspiring words, their banner fully visible.
Moving forward, she cracks her whip at the Akata facing the Captain.

Apologies people - my youngest was sick for most of last week with some crappy, and really hard to shake off, fever. I think she is well on her way to recovery, so I should be back to regular posting. I'll try to have something up soon.

Tiriael keeps boosting her companions, the flag held high, while she summons arcane power.
"They are endless..." - Tiriael mutters, still shaken from seeing the acolyte kill himself so promtly. Again she falls into a lithany of courage and valor in battle, strengthening their companions resolve in the upcoming combat.
"Souldn't we move inside?" - Tiriael pipes in.
"Let us quickly search the bodies of the cultists, and move out before others converge" - Tiriael urges, watching their surroundings. Turning to the cultist, she threatens - "You there, fool! Surrender! Or pay the consequences" - the usually kind girl taking on a definitely surprising, menacing tone.
Demoralize: Demoralize You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. This shaken condition doesn’t stack with other shaken conditions to make an affected creature frightened. Success: If you are successful, the target is shaken for one round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition. Fail: The opponent is not shaken. Demoralize Action Demoralizing an opponent is a standard action.
Seeing the spell cast by the cultist, Tiriael shifts her position, a grim look in her face. Looking directly at the enemy she blurts out an insulting tirade so vicious and spiteful that enemies who hear it risk being physically scorched by her fury.
Tiriael maintains her inspiring discourse, bolstering her companions and conjured allies as the battle rages on. Wanting to offer further assistance, she draws her whip, wondering why on earth she never bothered to pick up a bow, and stands ready to attack any creature that comes close. Whip in hand, she conjures an arcane spell to hamper the movements of their foes.
"We need to break it down, and get in fast" - Tiriael urges - "It is impossible that those dying shrieks were not heard..."
Tiriael steps back from the path of the creatures, and starts urging and bolstering his companions to face the seemingly innevitable fray - "We've got this" - she states, resolute.
Tiriael stays as attentive as possible as they approach the detected fault in the pallisade, looking out for any patrols or others that may wonder in their direction.
"I was watching it from afar but... At first impression, the main structure itself seems quite solid, but the pallisade is really not that well maintained - I think with some exploration, we might find a place to enter" - Tiriael pipes in again.
While absent mindedly watching the construction, and how apparently it is housing such a throng of creatures, Tiriael absent mindedly comments - "Could we perhaps pose as wanna be cultists, or something of the sort..?"
Tiriael smiles as the female guardsman addresses her about Kizza - "It is a long story, which I will gladly recount when we have some free time but... For the time being, let us just say that there was some really powerful magic involved, and Kizza became sentient, as much as you or me" - she winks - "Actually there are many more, but as I said it is a tale to be told with more time" As they continue the trip, she adds - "And what abut you? What is your name? I am Tiriael"
Tiriael smiles at the question - "Well... Charda are armored in dense, bony plates, usually have four arms and drool a wretched black bile from their fanged maw. No point in using poison nor cold against them. On top of that they can also spew a bile that is unnaturally cold" She paces for a second, then adds - "Now Akata... They are like hairless blue lions with twin tentacular tails. Apart from those, dozens more thick tentacles quiver and twitch where their mane should be. From what I have heard, they are deaf and do not breathe. A really piece of oddity - their bite has been known to create zombies..." - she smiles, but then again realizes the seriousness of the moment and finishes quickly - "They are also impervious to cold, disease, and poison, not to mention highly resistant to fire. However, for some reason, salt water seems to burn them like acid"
Tiriael goes over the nomenclature in her head - Charder and Akata - trying to gain as much information as possible, regarding what they are up against.
Wanted to drop a line to wish you all a Happy New Year!! Today and tomorrow posting will not come easy, and next weekend the family is going on a snow trip, but I'm still around. Posting will be sparse though, until next Sunday. Enjoy the holiday everyone!
"Of course Doran" - Tiriael smiles, then turns to the Captain and Nebari - "I guess if no one has anything against it then, it is settled. I am not also very keen on "borrowing" anything, unless if I thought it would save us a lot of time. But the Captain has a point there also - we have an opportunity to perhaps do something for the people of this settlement, and that is something I can relate to"
"If you don't like it, I don't like it either" - Tiriael pipes in - "Do you think we could go about this in any other way?" - she asks - "Perhaps borrowing the amulet for the greater good - not something I am terribly fond of, but..."
Merry Christmas everyone! Holidays are still running strong for me, as my girls now need the time to play through all of their gifts ;) I'll update as soon as possible.
"We should scout out that village, and find if they are friendly or if we have any reason to fear hostility" - Tiriael comments.
If I remember correctly, Carda was our immediate destination.
"Yes, let's go. And thank you for carrying that Kizza" - Tiriael offers with a smile.
"I don't have any rope" - Tiriael turns to the others - "Any of you have any?"
"Not heavy? Ok, then... Maybe we can try to fit this on your back somehow..."
"That is the one yes..." - Tiriael answers - "But if it is too heavy, we will find another way, no need to overburden yourself"
