This one might be tough to run depending on how my players resolve the last book in Blood Lords...

Usually is there between 6 months to a couple years to set up factory depending on the complexity, so whatever trailblazer sets up shop or expands capacity can make mad profits, assuming the tariffs are, in fact, implemented.

Additionally, a shortage due to a demand hike is just that. There was shortage of pink paint due to the Barbie Movie, that doesn't mean that the paint industry is weak or couldn't adapt to sustained increase in demand. At best it means it operates in tight, "just in time", order scheduled.

/unhinged economic rant

1: 6 months seems really short. Industrial printing requires heavy machinery, which is also not manufactured in the US so either that's a second industry that has to be spun up here first, or an additional 10%-100% increase in the overhead cost to start up the factory.

2: "just in time" operation is the worst thing to happen to industry in well the history of industry. It is the reason that there are no American manufacturers, it is the reason why a couple of relatively minor shipping bottlenecks during covid lead to months long delays in shipping that have still not been corrected for. The shipping is a good example. As a result of an industry wide just in time mentality, we were (and still are) running at 100% of shipping capacity 100% of the time. Just-in-time says that because safety margins (like holding back 10-20% of your capacity, or stocking one or two production runs worth of raw materials) do not directly generate profits they are a waste and need to be eliminated. What that means in the short term if everything runs perfectly is higher profits. What it means long term is the entire manufacturing and distribution system because INCREDIBLY fragile. Even minor problems cause the entire system to shatter, and as can be seen in the shipping industry, because you were already running at 100% capacity it is physically impossible to recover without going through the decades long process of building more capacity. The 2020 shipping bottle neck is STILL causing problems, right now there are paizo products that were supposed to ship two months ago that are MIA in the shipping system. On top of that, if you favor some of the more modern analyses of inflation being more closely tied to supply line capacity than monetary supply, you can draw a line directly from the covid shipping crisis that is still unresolved to the inflation spike during that same time period.

Are the Armies of the Dead in the same situation as Fearsome Forces? They recently went from "expected Dec 11th" to "unavailable" but it looks like my subscription order is still waiting on them to be fulfilled.

I'm not as concerned about it this month like i was with Divine Mysteries in the order, but I would still like to know what to expect.

You can email CS and they will move the side carted item so the rest will ship.

I did last week. No response so far, which isn't surprising, CS is pretty backed up and they warned about that up there in the OP.

Oh no! i am also 'waiting on back ordered items' from my sidecart this month. How did that work last month? Did i screw myself out of my subscriptions?

also why would something that is on backorder move from the sidecart into the subscription order in the first place? Isn't the whole point of the sidecart to prevent that from happening?

I think it may only be for flagship products. I don't recall where they said it, possibly on the monster core pawn product page, but they were clear and explicit that they do not intend to bring back pawns for APs in any form. The impression I got is that the thing that makes it too expensive/inefficient is not the materials or manufacturing so much as the artist time taking away from other projects which is why PDF only isn't really on the table either.

On the night of the full moon, did the character control under the GM ? Even for a true werecreature ?

Thanks for your future answer.

Due to how inherently touchy taking away player agency can be, it looks like they (wisely imo) determined tha6t by RAW this needs to be decided between the gm and player and there is no official answer one way or another.

As a GM, I can imagine going a couple different ways with this. If the character is a werecreature from the very beginning i would let them keep control of their character regardless of natural or afflicted status, for characters to acquire the affliction during play I would start by taking control control of their character with their explicit permission after a conversation outside of the game, and then set up a long term skill challenge that takes place each full moon and after they have collected some number of successes they will have made-peace-with/mastered/understood their curse and after which they keep control on full moon nights.

Familiars don't gain Intelligence because they don't have an intelligence score. A familiar is just assumed to be about as intelligent as you want/need for it to function. Mind you that any given day you can swap familiar abilities around to give it speech, so a familiar being an intelligent animal is not only likely, it's kind of an unspoken default assumption unless you specifically avoid any ability that requires humanlike intelligence to use.

Familiars in 2e are a little more like a mutable collection of powers, but I feel like making an intelligent animal who used to be a familiar is a perfectly viable way to be awakened.

I have a long time player, who played a wizard in Rise of the Runelords with a hedgehog familiar named Chi CHi that became a party favorite. I am currently preping to run Seven Dooms next, and this player pitched the idea of creating an awakened animal version of CHi Chi to be his character for the arc.

There is a lot of great opportunity for good storytelling in the idea that some rare familiars might gain independence when their master dies, and IMO it definitely fits in with one of the background themes of Golarion that sometimes, magic be weird and does rare unique things. I would encourage any GM to consider this a viable path for a player that is attached to a familiar and wants to move it forward in a story.

I think there will be table variation due to the very first sentence of the rune:

When etched with this rune, a weapon's hilt or haft becomes engraved with grooves that match the imprints of a wolf's teeth. By putting a fanged weapon in your mouth, you can transform into an animal.

while some tables will say this is just flavor, other will say that there is the implicit requirement of the weapon engraved actually having a hilt or a haft, which natural attacks don't.

the other thing that i see issues with is that for fanged to work, you need to physically put the "weapon" (in this case the handwraps themselves) in the mouth. So you'd basically not be "grinning" but you'd literally have to put your hand in your mouth and bite it for it to activate.

I can imagine taking the handwraps and tying them over your mouth like a gag, which i think would fit just fine into the "draw a weapon" action.

LOL. I don't honestly believe such tables exist. It would be idiotic. By that logic, champions and sorcerers are legacy too. Do they ban them as well?

Nah. They're only found in the dreams and discussions of the internet, and perhaps the occasional ignorant GM who has been mislead into believing that there are non-existent compatibility issues. Nobody chooses to limit their games in such a manner for absolutely no gain.

"I don't believe those tables exist! except where they do, but those GMS are stupid!" *flat look*

I don;t run a table like that, but all sorts of tables exist that limit things for all sorts of reasons from setting a particular tone to reducing the bloat to avoid confusion. if the GM and the players like it and buy into it, it's their game and they can have fun the way they want to.

There wasn't room to do a full super-detailed dive on Sandpoint in this adventure, unfortunately, but Magnimar's only a day away, so even if the PCs don't go there to shop, you should let them place orders for stuff from Magnimar through local merchants, or perhaps via the Mercantie League or Wheen's Wagons, solutions that could let the PCs order something on the morning of a day and then have it delivered the evening of the next day.
...
You can also tie it to reputation. If the PCs become Admired with a faction, then that faction might open their secret stashes to the PCs for purchases of items up to 7th level, and if they become revered with a faction, items up to 12th level.

My preferred personal solution, though, if I were running this, would be to create bespoke lists of items for sale in Sandpoint...

I used the mail order option a lot when I ran Extinction Curse. The players FELT they were on a ticking clock despite being told repeatedly they wern't (players! amiright?) so they wern't willing to take a trip to absalom, but the starstone isle isn't that big so I just had them put in orders through local merchants and them siguring in a day or two courier time.

I really like the idea of typing higher level items to reputation and having favored merchants carry bespoke inventories. One of the things im looking forward two is having the party spend the adventure arc in one place so I can really bring the town to life.

Usually it takes a lot less time, even when Player/GM core released. I thought that maybe that's because of Sandpoint HC, but posts above indicate that people have no problems with HC outside of missing PDFs.

I'm not sure if they still do, but the used to randomize their packing list so the same people didn't get stuff first every time due to sorting. We may have just has back luck in that randomization, there shipping window goes all the way to friday.
