Thorfinn waived a hand.
"Nah, it's on me. I just won some money taking a dive for some guys trying to impress their girls. I'll take this guy to the barracks and feed him the cure. Hope you guys have a good line of patter, 'cause he's not going to be happy. If he's not exploded." He said, picking Sgt. Frumm up like a kitten.
"It'll take about an hour all told. You gonna follow me or do other stuff until then?" He asked.

Thorfinn reached out and picked up Sgt. Frumms head and peered closely at him. Then he let the mans head thump to the table again. Frumm snored on without interruption.
"Oh yeah, he's way out of it." He said nodding.
He frowned and stood thinking.
"Hm. Well, if we're in a hurry, there's an old home remedy my ma used to use on my pa when he was drunk out of his mind. What was the recipe...
"Cayenne pepper," He said, counting on his fingers; "Mustard--the hot kind, ipecac, asafetida... and oil of cloves... Or was it? No, it was croton oil. Wait, yeah, and a thimble full of blasting powder. That'll do it."

Thorfinn let you all go and leaned on a couple of your chairs with a creak.
"I have no idea! I woke up in the stables with a blue ribbon." He said and shrugged. "I was quite proud! But mighty puzzled as to what I had to do to get it. Plus none of you were around. So what have you all been doing?"

Thorfinn was crossing the tavern with a keg on his shoulder when he spotted you at your table.
He dropped the keg in surprise, then flung his arms wide.
"Friends! I woke up and couldn't find you!" He shouted, then stepped forward and used his enormous arms to sweep you all into a bone crushing mass hug. "Glad I am to see you all well!"

Thorfinn cheerfully joins in the various wrestling challenges (it's what he came here for), doing one on one, one on three, and even cheerfully allowing himself to be challenged (and bribed) to throw a match to allow a fellow to impress his girl.

Well it has been a month. I can move forward with the AP if you all like, as I have the modules.

I like using roll20 for maps, but I have made google maps as well.

I might be able to take over, as I have the modules in my library.
But he said he would be slow, so I would want to wait a month or so. Then I would consider revisiting the question.

"Just say when!" Thundered Thorfinn, waiting on a judges command or signal.

"Well, alright then." Said Thorfinn looking at everyone clustering around the rope. "So when do I start pulling?"

Yep, +1 initiative and +4 strength bonus. No ability to rage bonus that.

"NOW THE PARTY CAN BEGIN NOW THAT THORFINN'S BACK IN TOWN!" Exulted Thorfinn cheerily as he and his friends came up to the crowd. He struck a heroic pose that showed off his musculature.
He looked suddenly puzzled as someone handed him one end of a rope.
"What's this now?" He asked standing up normally now. "I was told there would be whiskey..." He said, looking around for the beverage in question.

"Why are they yelling Trunau forever? Is it planning on going somewhere? We've only just arrived."

"Hah! Either way, sounds like a party! Let's crash it!" Thorfinn said, absently catching up Asher's trunk off the stagecoach along with his own and easily balancing both on one massive shoulder.

"You think Varys'll actually show up this time?"

"Show up how, precisely?"

"There he is!" Thorfinn said, pointing at Varys unnecessarily. "Come on Varys, we're gonna crash a party!" He said enthusiastically as he strode forward. "Here, that looks heavy." He said, catching up Vary's pack as well.

"Do you hear something, Thor?"

"Oh yea, that's Varys. He said someone was snoring, but I didn't hear anything." He said sagely.

"Gods I could use a whiskey."

"Hey yeah!" Said Thorfinn perking up. "That's an even better idea! PARTY AND WHISKEY! WOOOOOO!" He whooped and then strode ahead toward the sounds of the ceremony.

A stagecoach and four rumbled through the town gate and came to a stop as the horses were reigned in by the coachman. He rapped on the roof and shouted "We're here gentlemen!"
The door opened and a blonde haired and bearded man stepped out and stood up. And up. And up. Until the enormous man stood tall at seven foot seven and nearly as wide. The stagecoach rocked back wildly as he stepped off, removing his weight. He stretched after the long ride, deliberately showing his very prominent musculature.
"Hah! Who are you callin' a gentleman?" He said grinning as he looked around the old familiar wooden construction.
"Asher! Wake up we're here!" He called out, thumping the side of the stagecoach. He reached up and took his huge footlocker off the top of the coach, shouldering it easily.
"Sounds like we're missing a party!"

Asher: I pictured Thorfinn as a travelling challenge wrestler that just blew in off the last stagecoach. Makes sense they would have traveled together for some time. Both in the martial business, they would have talked shop as well.

-Your characters will all start out in the town of Trunau.

Do we need to know anything about it beforehand?

-I am only requiring 2 posts per week from my players, though more will not be frowned upon if you wish to do so. I work very long hours and do not have time to be on the boards constantly responding to posts(hence selections being late) and I don't think it would be fair to hold my players to different standards.

Understood. I tend to be similar.

-I have been thinking about using a VTT for combat as I find play-by-post combat, especially with my limited posting schedule, to be really clunky. What are your thoughts on the matter and if we do go in that direction do you have a VTT you prefer?

I've had great success with Roll20, just for the maps and tokens alone!

-If you are a fan of the glass cannon podcast and have listened to their flagship show please avoid metagaming and if you have not I suggest you do not start listening to their original podcast(called the glass cannon podcast) since it will horrendously spoil things for you!

Haven't heard of it.

Appearance: An enormous blonde haired and bearded man, seven feet tall and nearly as wide, whose crude clothing, bearing and mannerisms clearly mark him as one of those northern barbarians. Has huge hands, possibly giant touched?
A terrifying sight in battle, especially when wielding an earth-breaker larger than he is.
Personality: A restless man who is bigger than life. Loves to laugh and drink when with friends, bitter rage against enemies, his given loyalty is absolute. Loves to work the crowd up during matches; for or against doesn't matter.

Background:
Thorfinn was born in the lands of the Linnorm kings, to a clan whose grandmother scandalized the family with her accounts of consorting with giants.
As he grew and grew, he left home to get away from the comparisons of his huge size with the endless stories and rumors suggesting his parentage was less than legitimate.
As successful as he was as a warrior, he was even more successful as a wrestler. He became more and more in demand, facing more and more famous opponents. He became skilled at riling up crowds to a fever pitch, and even colluding with his opponent to make a more exciting match; sometimes even having to escape ahead of crowds howling for his head. He has a certain reputation now that precedes him, to his pride and consternation.

Thorfinn paused, shading his eyes against the daylight to peer at the people on the trail ahead of them.
"HEY!" He bellowed over Elric, waiving vigorously at the strangers ahead of them. "DON'T SCARE OUR PREY OFF YE BACKWOODS HICKS!"

Red 5 standing by!

"Hey yeah!" Exclaimed Thorfinn. "You look like ya been around the block a few times lady, ya ever see something like that," He pointed to the feathered serpent; "But bigger?" He held his hands wider.

Thorfinn popped out of the blind, cracking his back and stretching.
"Ahh! That was a long time sitting in one spot. Greetings! A bite I think we can spare... How about this apple?" Thorfinn shouted.
He lobbed an apple to her in an informal and friendly way.

Nothing for it but to keep on hiding in the blind, waiting.

Perhaps good to very good. This is the best place we've found in a couple days of searching, right?

Thorfinn waives the feathers offer off.
"No thanks, I'm good."
He looked around for threats.

"Well then; back to hiding?"

Thorfinn grimaces, realizing how small their quarry was.
"Uh, did we just kill an innocent bystander type critter?" He said, scratching his beard.

Thorfinn, surprised he wouldn't have to charge, wound up his maul and attacked.

Thorfinn popped out of the blind and threw a throwing axe. Hard.
Throwing Axe Power attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 1 = 22 for a possible 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6 slashing damage.

"Come on you two!" Thorfinn said, shoving Elric and Edyssa forward. "Nookie later, after we catch this critter!"
He sets to work setting up a blind they can all hide in while readying an ambush.
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Thorfinn shrugged.
"Well, best lead we've had so far. What do we do, hide nearby?"
He asked, looking around for a suitable place.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Thorfinn strolled along, his Earthbreaker over one shoulder and a smile on his lips. He is hugely glad to get out of the forge for the day and is enjoying the day entirely.
Once in a while he will check for tracks, though he isn't entirely sure what kind of tracks a winged serpent might leave.

"Hah! We can do both! Let's get moving before one of the others thinks of the same thing!"

Thorfinn thinks about how to possibly bag the critter.
"Hm. Maybe we ought to follow the Arn river upstream. Lots of predators ambush near water."

Thorfinn looks skeptical, but he waves his hand in surrender.
"Alright, alright. If you think we need the help, go ask those guys if they want in. I think we're good to go as we are though."

Thorfinn arches his eyebrow.
"Kobolds? Are you sure?" He questioned. "Seems to me they'd be obliterated by anything that could challenge us."

"Absolutely! I've been going stir crazy working in the forge. It'll do me good to get out for a while; and if someone deserving desires the Blessings of Thor..." He slams his earthbreaker to the ground, which jumps under your feet. "Well then, I will be glad to accomodate him!"

"Be right back." Thorfinn said. He quickly trotted back to the forge and picked up his baby.

He came back with his main weapon casually slung across one shoulder; the massive six-foot long iron bound maul known as an 'Earth-Breaker'.
"Ready." He grinned.

"Well then why don't you just go with us then? Split any reward between the three of us."

"Hah!" Laughed Thorfinn as he buffeted Elrics shoulder.

Thorfinn swallowed the last of his apple and licked his fingers while he pondered.
"Huh. Well, d'ye think they're gonna need some muscle?"
He flexed quite impressively.

She picks the best looking apple from her basket and tosses it to him. "Hope you like it!"

Juggling his tankard, he just barely caught it.

"Thorfinn! I'm surprised you left your forge long enough to join in something like this."

He swollowed his bite.

Thorfinn also stood waiting amongst the crowd, occasionally drawing on his tankard of ale.
He had been working in the local smiths shop with a local named Bjarn on some axehead projects of his and his ears were just starting to stop ringing. They had taken a boisterous midday break at the tavern when the crowd in the square drew their attention. People in the crowd said the Theign was supposed to speak on some matter of importance, and he wondered if there was opportunity here...

I confirm mine is ready!
