Leaning aside to let Aaron past, Thorek tries to take some pressure off of Grenwold by eliminating some of the foe--starting with the injured morlock swarming at the gnome with its allies.
Stepping up to confront the morlocks, the dwarven warpriest brings the steel head of his dorn-dergar whipping around to intercept the nearest of the leaping creatures!
Thorek has Ironskin active, for the same CL and bonus as Daria I believe since she's the source with those poultices. No other buffs active currently
Basically nothing has happened in this campaign since you left, Aaron, so as far as I'm concerned welcome back! I too would like to set a better pace, PBP is already slow at the best of times
glad to have you back! I'd like to continue, I've really enjoyed this AP even with the pacing issues during gameplay. Vayelan made a valiant effort but has had two kids and just didn't have the bandwidth anymore
So sorry to hear, Spaz, hopefully that third bad thing got mugged on its way to you and never makes it.

I just tallied up the items and Thorek appears to have ~122,000gp of items. The big culprit looks to be the Bracers of Sworn Vengeance which is 25k by itself. I'm happy to just EDIT THE UNIVERSE and drop some items to get to the correct loot balance.
There was that gent who popped into the Recruitment thread to offer a dwarf archer. @Daria he said y'all had played together before, what do you think?
If Lily doesn't show back up, do we want to recruit another character here before we get started again? Probably the most convenient time to do so.
Has anyone heard from Lily recently? last post from her was early December
Go on ahead and introduce yourself! All our players except one have commented at this point, I think some of us are wanting to take an opportunity to rework characters a little before we resume play, but I'll defer to them to explain the details.

Hello! Some years ago we started an Ironfang Invasion AP, and despite some rocky patches and a few players coming and going we've been able to truck along through to the beginning of Book 4. Unfortunately our GM is needing to pull out, and our group is hoping we can save the campaign with a new GM. https://paizo.com/campaigns/TheIronfangInvasionTrailOfTheHunted We've just started exploring a valley in the beginnings of Book 4, and are in some ruins inhabited by morlocks. Things have been slow of late, but I have played with some of these people for years, and with all of them in other games and can vouch for their commitment for whatever that's worth.
Longshadow is Book 3 (I know the general outline since I'd intended to run it for an IRL table) so we're right at the start of Book 4. I'll put a feeler out in the Recruitment channel and see what we see
I'm happy to make a post asking about a new GM, if anyone else is still interested. Could I get some confirmation either way, friends?

I would very much like this campaign not to wither on the vine--if you think you have the bandwidth to keep going, Vayelan, I'm happy to keep going with you at the helm. But I don't want you to feel like you have to keep going for our sakes if life's getting busy.
Hey Vayelan, I'm sorry that real life has been giving you a hard time, I wish the best for you and yours. The world's really messy and messed up right now. I would hate to see the game die after all this time, but I'll defer to the rest of the group's preferences.
Trusting in his own strength and fervor to let him respond quickly to any surprises, Thorek accepts the poultice from Daria and hefts his dorn-dergar, surging forward at Gren & Aaron's signal.
Thorek hangs back, self-conscious about the noise of his armor and the chains of his dorn-dergar. "Daria, what is it?"
Thorek steps out into the air cautiously, but lets out a relieved sigh as he, too, drifts down. "It's like having Gaius back!" he remarks to Daria and Lily as he settles back onto stone again. "Be careful, you two--down here, danger could be around any corner. Don't go too far."
"Well that's peculiar, Thorek murmurs as Ringo transforms, but doesn't comment further. As Gren and Aaron vanish into the darkness, the dwarf gives it a count of five before leading the others into the tunnels after. "Wish us luck," he calls softly to the stony guardians, giving them a little wave before moving off into the cool darkness.
"Good enough. Gren, can you scout for us? I'll follow a short distance behind."
Thorek grins back at the others, pleased at the praise and not having to destroy such ancient guardians. "Never been so happy to be wrong! Before we delve in, who needs light, and who can go without? You'll want to keep your lights hidden if you can, they'll give you away otherwise."
"I would prefer to avoid that too." Thorek frowns as he considers the statues. "A lot will depend on how they were originally designed; some guardians stay 'off' until a command word is spoken, and then guard an area until destroyed or a stand-down passphrase is given. If it's something like that they won't listen to me...but I suppose it's worth a try." Gesturing for the others to stay behind him, Thorek approaches to about 30 feet from the statues and holds up a hand in greeting--though he immediately feels silly about that. "Guardians of the hold, stay your hands! My companions and I come in peace, I am a son of Kraggodan and I vouch for those behind me! May we pass by in safety?"
"Well now, that's curious. A mystery for another time, though, for now we press on to those ruins. Keep an eye on the skies, everyone! No one wants to be a drake's dinner, ha."
Everyone doing okay? We've been on a slow patch lately :/
"Not sure I would call this an excavation at all, certainly not a mine. Looks more like a sinkhole, and I don't care for those bones lying about eith--oho! What's this?" Kneeling down by a pile of dirt and debris, he brushes some aside to reveal the lockbox and bends over to examine it more closely.
"Works for me," Thorek tucks the papers away and takes up his weapons. "We're losing daylight, let's move on."
"Prisoners?" Thorek glances down at the bundle of papers and reports, puzzled. "I don't think the site is still being actively worked, there are no lists of prisoners or guard shift changes or anything like that."
Thorek shuffles through the reports with considerable interest. "An old mine, and a nest of drakes. The latter at least is good to know, we can be alert to a hunting rampage. Do we wish to take the time to explore the mine? The reports here don't indicate anything of immediate interest to us, I think the morlocks should remain our focus."
Grunting at the impact of the chieftain's sword, Thorek joins his fellows in quickly bringing down the brute. In the sudden quiet of the battle's aftermath he peers around. "I don't think this was the ogre's camp originally. Let's check for anything useful but not dally. We've a tribe of morlocks to find."
As yet another ogre falls Thorek pushes forward, not letting up on the pressure he takes another aggressive swing at the next giant in line's head!
As hulking shapes begin to loom around him in the fog, Thorek grins and brings his dorn-dergar to bear, a battle-prayer on his lips and the foes' kneecaps in his sights.
"Angradd bless us in our holy work!" Thorek cries with a prayer on his lips, sending a surge of miraculous energy over his allies.

As Daria reports back, Thorek scowls. "Ogres? Ugh, might be more auxiliaries to the Legion, or just local opportunists. Or deserters, which I suppose count as both." He begins to twirl his dorn-dergar in a seemingly lazy figure-eight. "Any reason we shouldn't hit them hard now and scatter them?"
