Any change of a spot left?

I would try a Badger Clan bushi if minor clan are allowed and there is still spots open to try.

Since it's before the scorpion coup they are not so distant from others even if they are similar to the Crab in the form they are perceived socially.

Heritage: 1d10 ⇒ 5

Illustrious Past

Illustrious Past: 1d10 ⇒ 5

This reminds to the Houses of the Blooded. I'm interested, and if I have the chance will throw an app if I can.

If there is any chance I would throw my hat in with a ronin.

Not sure if I would try a forest killer, Tessen, or Disciple of Sun Tao.

You can still be a Forest Killer I guess, you just decided to leave the Shinomen Mori and sell your soul to live better and more honor.

I would really use the d&d 3.5 rokugan book as the basis for feats and other stuff like spell perhaps or classes that you can just port to pathfinder or find one that does the same thing. I would totally remove:

Barbarians
Bards
Bloodrager
Cleric
Druid
Gunslinger
Magus
Paladin
Shaman
Skald
Summoner
Warpriest
Witch
Wizards

Some classes would be unique to certain clans like:
Alchemist - Agasha Family, Dragon Clan
Cavalier - Unicorn Clan or use Fighter Rough Rider Archetype.
Ninja - Certain Ronin Otodake, Shoshuro Infiltrators, Spider Clan Ninube or Goju.
Brawler - Brotherhood of Shinsei, with style feats to represent their specific brotherhood
Arcanist - IF you keep it would be an Isawa Family, Phoenix Clan?

The hard part is "Kiho" and monks which would be like a strange combination between Magus and Monk using his fists as the main weapon.

I it just my opinion that you first choose the type of game, and then if it's a single clan, orodake of various clans, ronin, or Minor Clan Alliance which can be fun. Yes I enjoy playing the underdog Minor Clans.

I think this will mostly depend on how "purist" you want to be when following the L5R setting, and depending on the Timeline you choose also can have many effects.

I would say for ease to settle on a single clan party or why not the Minor Clan Alliance.

I think Monks in the Rokugani setting are more like the Brawler Class with many different fighting styles (Style Feats).

Samurai, I would use the old d&d 3.5 L5R edition Samurai Class which is basically a fighter with special rules for their "Daisho" katana+wakizashi.

Shugenja are Elemental sorcerers mostly that commune with the Kami or can even be Oracles for every element.

Void element has no element nor its negative or positive energy so you have to consider what type it is or pick an element.

Most players have the LN/LG/LE alignment unless they are ronin. I woudl advise against having a Ronin PC unless they are all ronin, because of the social problems and stigma it has. This does not stop a PC that is member of a good ronin otodake like the Disciples of Sun Tao, Eyes of Nanashi, or Tessen.

Also choose a type of campaign before it gets crazy, is it a Investigation campaign all PC are magistrate working under an Emerald Magistrate, Warfare campaign where players are officers and a few fight in the court at the same time. A court campaign where PC have specific mission plus whatever else drives them there. An otodake of Great/Minor Clan men that are dispatched on a mission (this is a short adventure usually).

Darn, I'm new to this system but not sure if there is still a spot open otherwise consider me interested in applying.

I would like to first apologize because I will have to end this campaign. It's not that I lost interest or you guys did something wrong, but I do have to travel for 3 to 6 months for a project and I need the cash in all honesty. I am very sorry for doing this, and you guys deserve better, but I need the cash.

"I suggest scouting Turuun" said Riliah "We have the clothing of the locals, so we can pose as EFF's soldiers that fled this place"

Sorry for yesterday I got kidnapped from 4am by my friends because of my b-day and now I'm beyond hang-over, but will try to post something if I can hold my thoughts for more than 5 minutes

After a few words, in a literal sense by Corrad to Wynnter everyone is finally ready to travel to their destinations.

Naelareon Lands
Once all are gone Tristen begins to work.

Locations:
Small Market
awareness (notice), persuasion/deception (any), Knowledge (Streetwise)
Trading Inn
awareness (notice), persuasion/deception (any), Knowledge (Streetwise)
Woodworking site
awareness (empathy), persuasion/deception (any), survival (forage/track)
Farmers
awareness (empathy), persuasion/deception (any), survival (forage/track)
Village
awareness (empathy), persuasion/deception (any), Knowledge (Streetwise)

In any location you will roll:

Bartheld Delegation
Lord Darne takes a few men to visit the Barthelds, it is a long travel, but will be there within the month. (You may roleplay or try something of your own making, and you may trigger something, if not I will fast forward).

Grell Delegation
The travel is going to prove very hard for Wynnter, more do to the company she carries than the travel itself. (You may roleplay or try something of your own making, and you may trigger something, if not I will fast forward).

SGM salutes Kraken 1 as a small group of four soldiers step up and go to one of the vehicles "I only have a small detachment Sir! This is going to take a while. Are you sure it isn't safer to just get survivors and level the place instead..." Riliah is trying to make things more efficient "There are no more people living here, other than the corpses and if any hidden EFF's soldiers, but I do believe many of our refugees we held back are feddie f%#+s that were trying to flee or prevent us from sending our troops with the first wave of prisoners"

A vehicle drives in and begins to unload earthnoid families in chains, many of them cry towards the town as the few nomads nearby that have been captured begin to come in making a separate camp than those from Narabulag.

Your Zaku's do have cam recording feedback that resets itself, so whatever you guys saw for the day can be downloaded to an external drive and uploaded into the command [url=http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Cui]Cui.

There was no more resistance inside the town, but many of the places the feddies used as weapon platforms to shoot at the Zeon forces were a small school, and civilian housing. The corpses in those buildings were pieces and in some cases all they could do was fill a bag with parts and tag it as a body, because there was nothing left of the poor wretch that took the direct hit.

The true horror came from the bunker under the town hall building as you came closer you see a splatter of blood like your zaku would have squished an elephant under it's foot, but in truth you new better, as some of the soldiers cannot stomach the sight of it SGM Riliah stands firm and unmoved "Earthnoids did this in my colony, this is how I found my father when I was merely 12. They put them in a box and then they killed him with chemicals." Riliah shows no surprise to the scene as she barks orders and the reluctant soldiers begin to clean up.

Will wait for the other players answers before moving, see if they are still around.

Let me know if everyone is ready now to part ways so we can begin all the events :)

SGM Rialah kept all men and send women and children and the few elderly away.

"Sir, we must begin to fix some areas to use as a staging point and to run our supplies. Not to mention clearing every building from traps and the rest of the surrounding area from mines." This is going to take some days of effort, but the start of taking Mongolia has began.

Corrad is not going to be happy lol

Best books were if you got 15 or higher.

Riliah makes her troops take in the survivors, even if they are blaming them for what happened.

"This is SGT. Klawen, Sir!" a brief radio pause "SGM Riliah believes that there are to many male survivors we might be infiltrated instead, Sir! Your orders?"

Not a problem ;) I will bot you in cinematic way (no rolls, just action when needed)

In MS Gundam is the Antartic Conventions. Geneva Conventions only applies to Earthnoids, which is part of what started the war do to indiscriminate war crimes form the EFF against the colonies "Spacenoids".

At this time the "Laplace Box" is very much unknown, almost mythical in nature. Whi is like the letter f independence of all colonies that the EFF kept hidden.

Not exactly a broadcast, but a speaker yes and will probably have your desired effect

Edel voice brings up a man with a white flag from the main building waving it hard. Before you have any time to answer he stops waving the flag and slowly slumps to the floor while looking in disbelief as his chest begins to bleed. A sniper shot. Then the Town Hall building explodes. Whatever civilians were left in the building come out crying and screaming, while cursing the Zeon soldiers.

"What just happened?" Riliah voices over open comm. Zeon soldiers were not ready for that, as SGM starts looking to see if anyone made that shot or if anything. Knowing they weren't close enough to shoot the rpg with clear line of sight much less throw enough grenades to make that explosion.

Yes they are :) Now you got to ID the soldiers among the civilians also when you capture the place, which also brings up the problem. Is this in every town/city?

IF at some point someone thinks they can't do or something happens they feel uncomfortable please let me know and I will make it into a Hitchcock fade to black scene with no details or anything just left to the imagination kind of thing.

They aren't terrorist, just a set up for the Zeon forces to ramp up their recruitment and morale.

They will attack you until they have enough "material" to use basically.

What's going in in the town is mainly one thing.

The feddies are going to use this as propaganda of Zeon shooting their hospitals and civilians, while in reality you are facing mostly soldiers among civilians and they using buildings that are off limits as firing plataforms.

This happens more often than not for propaganda purposes, and the feddies need it to bolster their morale and recruitment.

"That is the problem, there are feddies shooting at my soldiers within the civilians, you probably wouldn't feel a shot in your Zaku Sir!" Riliah cuts of the comm as the Magella tanks stop their fire and the infantry falls back. You notice how some dirt is kicked up as they take fire while they withdraw. Feddie soldier here are not wearing regular uniforms but are mixed in with civilians taking shots from houses.

feedies soldier here can't hi that 17 lol so will just rp it

Kanoe entry to the town is marked by distinctive flashes of gun fire and two rpg shots, one coming from what looks like the town's hospital and the town hall building. Kanoe's excellent skill make the shoots look like they were made by amateurs, but in all truth those skilled enough all PC's can tell one shot was aimed to kill the pilot or at least stun her, and the other one towards one of her legs that would have stopped her in her tracks making her a sitting duck.

You are under some Geneva type convention regarding prisoners and humane treatment there of. No type of nuclear, biological, or weapons of mass destruction (like a colony or meteor drop).

While the tanks are doing questionable things they are toeing a fine line, it's up to the officer in charge to tell them to stop.

Welcome to some high drama and tension were spacenoid and earthnoid hate spills over in war, and both side will commit one or other atrocity, or force you to make hard choices.

How are you all doing?

Any questions ask.

You can see the tiny figures move into the vehicles and head for the town, stopping at a prudent distance to avoid fire power, but an rpg is shot at one of the Magella tanks, the crew are able to maneuver and instead of taking damage to the hull they lose some of their tracks.

The other Magella tank returns fire and blows the building to bits, sending at least pieces of a corpse up high in the sky.

SGM was taking the path of least resistance. as you see them torching the place to oblivion in retaliation with incendiary grenades. The majority of Houses have or are entirely made of wood.

Cannon fire roars as they begin to shoot any two story building out of existence, but they are not targeting the main building in the town center.

THe MS pilot uniform for zeon looks like this

Denim wears the standard color and pilot suit.

Gaia, Ortega, and Mash are aces so they have different colors.

You can say they are "Skin Tight"

Char... is Char he don't count.

Descriptions can be changed to suit Gundam, bu I think skinsuit is the most appropriate.

A woman's voice comes through the secure channel of Kraken 1 Kraken 1, this is SGM. (Sergeant mayor) Riliah. I'll have the Magella give artillery support and clear a path for you."

The two tanks commence to fire as they create a trail of darkened earth and crack the floor, with four large explosions that could have rendered zaku and pilots dead or at least lost their lower half and be inoperable.

The tank commanders continue to fire but now it's for effect as they shoot into the town outskirts causing some light damage to houses, and accidentally destroying two in the process.

"Path is clear Kraken 1, shall we send the infantry to clear the buildings from IED and hiding EFF troops?"

Those that pass the difficulty

Spoiler:
You recognize you are stepping into a minefield. Enjoy!

Bad wording, should say Once you are at range 15 from the town to give you guys a chance to RP as you see everyone flee from your presence. After all you are the "bad guy" robots the size of the statues of liberty lol

Will try to have a map for tonight or early tomorrow

Yes.

We can just say you do that upon arriving, and no need to do it all over

For your zaku you run for about 55mph. So really if you run to the town you make it in like a minute or two perhaps. If you walk you still take less than half an hour to get there.

Naranbulag is not very far from the drop zone, maybe 3 hrs distance by the system gps calculations of trajectory. Upon advancing in flocks of sheep run with their owners in tow, as the heavy steps of the Zaku foretell impending doom to those that would raise their weapons.

The villagers run towards the town hall-like building.

You are at 15 range from the town. Notice TN 15

You find 3 books, on is of herbal lore, another one of heraldry and history of the Riverlands, and another one of military subject"

Tristen

Spoiler:

The maester is loyal to the House, but is VERY "special" when it comes to his small library, since the castle doesn't have a library proper, most books are from his own pocket, but he uses them to further the Houses finances and health of his members.

"Kraken 1, I'm sending you an image of Naranbulag and the nearby villages..."

Naranbulag is a large... dirt town, with several wooden houses and some are brick, while the governmental building at thew center being the most modern, if you can call it that.

"It seems Mongolia has few actual cities as we imagined, but they are rich in minerals and some animal materials, I doubt you will face any resistance until you find resource operations that are worth something to the EFF or they are a trading city, or the capital"

Once you finish loading the Gaw, smaller aircraft begin to load a pair of Magella tanks and other vehicles, while another aicraft transports the troops and crates.

You are directed to a small room from where you can see the hangar, it's not a luxury area, but it beats regular airplane seats, after all it's for pilots. You have a small coffee and drinks area and your chairs have seat belts, but are otherwise decent. In all honesty looks more like an officer's lounge with better than normal airplane seats.

A couple of hours pass as you relax as much as possible until the pilot voice breaks your idle chatter or silence "We are entering Mongolia" as you see from the windows the first part are some small mountains, with some small white dot cluster that are probably nomad tents.

A large plains is the next scenery with some mountains still around but to small to hide your Zaku's now, perhaps if they are kneeling they might cover them, and then it opens into a vast sea of grass and dirt as small rolling hills or flat terrain as far as your eyes can see. Some herds of horses run around.

"30 minutes to prepare for drop" you hear the loud voice as the many people hat man the hangar, weapon systems among the many other parts that for your Mobile Suits begin them to get ready. It's like a dance, of very skilled individuals placing the Sturm Fausts in the back pack, your machine guns in their arms, cracker grenades in the waist for those that had them, and two extra magazines one on each side of the hip armor. For the lack of command insignia, they mechanics took the liberty to paint a white stripe on the Zaku's helmet that runs from the middle of the head straight to the back. Each unit's number is put in their shield and re touching as needed, as well as Zeon's crest. Then the same on the left side of the chest. Unit number and Zeon's crest.

"5 minutes to drop" This time it's for the pilots, as you all gather your belongings, take last drinks and climb into your cockpits. Last second system checks, everything is green and the signal to get ready comes as the hangar bay lights turn red and the Gaw's mouth open slowly to deliver it's payload to Mongolia.

Your units are propelled by the Gaw's hangar tracked systems and spit you out of it's belly triggering a modified ballute system. Your landing is quick short and smooth enough to not shatter your teeth or break the mobile suit, but the ground shakes for sure. In your field of vision you can see the tiny parachutes of the company of men parachuting in, as well as crates, vehicles, and tanks.

Now for the first step Naranbulag, Mongolia. Radio comms come to life and it's identified as Zeon signal from your unit. A unknown voice to the Krakens, but you can hear the barking orders of Lt. Dahvana in the back every time he speaks.

"This is Cerberus 1, do you copy Kraken 1?"

A modified ballute system is a parachute basically. Otherwise the normal ballute system is used to drop Mobile Suits from low orbit.

Mostly balancing issues.

90mm
1 handed, can use shield, 5 dmg

120mm
2 handed, can't use shield, 6 dmg

Technically the 90mm is better weapon and also developed after the 105mm and 120mm.

Don't worry in about a month or two you will receive new Zaku units :)

I will have to bow out of this one, you all have fun!

Not to mention infiltrate :) some soldiers playing they are "fleeing civilians" a very common tactic. Not saying the feddies won't expect it, but it is hard the more refugees they have to deal with.

Planning the distance you travel and what towns/cities you take is up to the players. You can stay in Naranbulag longer and aid the ground forces controlling by sheer show of force what is needed and possibly force the EFF to come fight you out of their defensive positions.

Expect minor oppoisiont. Mostly tanks, aircraft and guerrilla warfare infantry taking pot shots with anti-MS weaponry.

Not all battles will be inside your MS just so you know, so be prepared to skirmish outside of your MS.

"As you advance, you must hold the area so we can establish a resupply chain, or if you need resupply for something specific I will air drop it at your location or as close as possible"

"Rememeber, your Zaku's can't operate for ever, so make sure to make the best of your 10hrs"

"Any more questions"

It all looks good to me.

Except that 4x Sturm Faust seems to say you have 4 when you can only have 2

Most towns in mongolia are not that big, so fighting will be mostly for the grunts as they quell any dissidents, but also there isn't a lot of hills it's mostly flat terrain or small rolling hills. While there are some arid areas it's not hard to navigate.

The route is were the majority of big towns or cities are.

[oob]Zaku cannot handle submerssion, there is a Zaku Mariner. Other than not been able to going for a swim, yes you can fight in rivers and lakes as long as the head and part of the chest is still visible. IF you do go under you will have some penalties and the fact that you might drown inside your cockpit.[/ooc]

"Let us begin Operation Golden Horde" a small giggle before an obvious laughter.

Voice of Reddok as the background laughter can be heard "Load up on the Gaw, it's the only one in the runway. You Zaku's have thrusters so you don't need parachutes to land safely. Any lat adjustments in your weapons load out before departing?."

What is everyone taking? Sturm Faust x2, Cracker Grenades x2 or 1 of each? In addition to changing the 120mm for the 90mm if anyone else is going to do so

90mm MG
±0 WA; 7 Range; 5MG Damage; 8M Shots; 1H Location; 5 Kills; Gunnery

The feddies have their own version.

Lt.Dahvana supervises the quick calibrations of your Zaku's to operate on earth gravity. Make any last minute changes which causes her more than one eye roll, specially when Kanoe has the shield moved, she leaves Reddok there to inform her when they are done.

An hour or so after everyone has equipped what they need for the mission a Gaw descends on the airfield nearby, and your comms ring with the voice of Lt. Dahvana "That's your ride, it will drop you in the city of Naranbulag, Mongolia."

In your screen a map northern half of Mongolia appears The red dot represents your landing area, it's a civilian population with no resistance, leave the infantry to secure the area as immediately after you we are sending more ground forces. The green line is the best course of action towards the capital of Ulaanbaatar, you will hit the only strong base in Murun" another picture shows land cruiser and a guntank defending the area as well as some batteries Batteries is the name of tank/artillery company "If everything marches according to plan we can have some Magella to support you as well as some aircraft support to combat theirs, your main focus is that guntank and the cruiser. Needless to say dodge the type 61 tank shots as they will concentrate fire on you to bring you down if they can" A small pause to let the pilots review the map.

The purple lines are additional deployment of Zeon ground forces that you may choose to support while you are there, as they will attempt to control areas of importance, like mining, oil, and other resources."

"Any questions?"

The Shield is part of your zaku standard gear, its mounted on your right shoulder.

Yes Kanoe, you can have your shield mounted on the left size. It will catch a lot of people by surprise, but nothing that break regulations, they will just think you are left handed.

Yes, you can switch to a 90mm Machine Gun.

While drones are a possibility, you do have a whole attachment of soldiers that do recon, as well as some vehicles. While Drones are not far fetched things, you do have satellite imagery or more like space imagery from X ammount of hours or day(s) from the last recon made in that particular area, the rest or you go yourself or you depend on your infantry platoon.

Drones are not impossible, but your Zaku II sensor range is very far compared to regular weaponry earthnoids have. Only a Guntank can spot you before and not by much.

Yes, if he has better stats then you I would suggest it.

Yes just check who has the highest roll so he roles and the other one supports.

Support is normally half your stat as a bonus rounded down.
