I'm already somewhat doing this, actually! I'm sprinkling in little references to each Adventure Path in First Edition. Some of these are more overt, and some less so. Most of them are worth a little bit of dialogue in regards to hearing of news from other lands, but these next few will have direct impacts on the game. Since my game begins in 4710 AR, my players will experience events in this order during these times.

Around the Spring of 4712 AR, explorers from Minkai will eventually travel from an eastern route via the Castrovin Sea into Iobaria and towards the next civilized land over, which just so happens to be the player's kingdom. With Empress Ameiko Kaijitsu on the throne and the Jade Regent deposed, she seeks new allies, opening up the possibility for an alliance with Minkai. This eventually culminates in a samurai army joining up with the players during the War of the River Kings, along with the roleplay options of trading western and eastern goods.

During the Summer of 4713 AR, portals opened up across Golarion that spread out winter's chill. While the most famous one was in Taldor, the portal which a few heroes took after taking on the mantle of Baba Yaga's Black Rider, a portal also opens in the Stolen Lands. The group has the choice to make a Stability check to hire adventurers to close the portal, though the party can also choose to cross the portal into the frozen land of Irrisen. From there, they'll be able to explore a hex map which I swear I'll make eventually of the frozen kingdom. Though they shouldn't be exploring for long, as their goal should be to shut the portal from within the spires of the Winter Witch who opened it up. A few months later, they'll be contacted by the new Queen of Irrisen to open alliances. As I'm currently running Reign of Winter, this might actually be a chance for one of my player's characters to show up in Kingmaker as an NPC! Though if she doesn't take over Irrisen, I'll just use Anastasia.

Later on in that very same year, a group of crusaders will be sailing up the waterways past the nation's capital. They're a group headed to the Worldwound in order to fight the good fight. Little do my players know that this group would go on to close the Worldwound and lead the Fifth Crusade to glory. They'll have the option to fund their crusade and, if they do, a few of their underlings will return to their land as mercenaries.

Late in the year 4714, the birth of a new star will be seen in the skies above the kingdom, and the star will whisper things to the kingdom's intellectuals. They'll see marvelous visions of technology, and bring great productivity to the nation for a time. While some of them work on their tinkering, the name "Casandalee" is whispered from their lips.

In 4717 AR, the nation of Oprak is founded, and the young country of hobgoblins seeks allies. If my players have militarized their kingdom enough, they'll find Oprak to join them in a fast alliance.

I've not read this AP, but I assume Eutropia Stavan ascends to the throne of Taldor, and would seek an alliance as well.

FINALLY, in 4719, when my players have likely finished the campaign, they'll be able to not only send wealth, but offer their personal services in defending Absalom from Tar-Baphon himself. Will they kill him? Of course not. Will they kick legions of undead butt? Absolutely.

Hey there everyone! I've been running Kingmaker for a couple months now as a West Marches style campaign. Pretty good so far! Been using plenty of the ideas on the forums, and it's working pretty smoothly. What's not so smooth, however, is wealth by level. I initially started by tripling the wealth found in various lairs/areas (like the Stag Lord's Fort, the mite's lair, Tartuk's room), but my players began to feel as if it was unrealistic for these various threats to have just so much wealth lying around. As such, having asked for a good way to distribute the treasure, they suggested expanding some of the locations, perhaps even making them into dungeons.

Because of this, I ask you, Kingmaker forums. I'm not the best at cartography or stuffing enemies into rooms lined with traps, so I'm looking for some good dungeon crawls to insert into the campaign. At first I was considering just outright plopping Rappan Athuk and its surroundings into a hex, but I'm not so sure my players would want to challenge a dungeon that deep (or have me go through a 600+ page tome) for some loot. I might add onto the lairs already dotted around, giving them extra levels below, such as the Lonely Warrior's Barrow or the Owlbear Lair. Anyone got any suggestions?

So I was looking through Iomedae's domains and such today, and I noticed something pretty curious. One of her subdomains was Hubris, a subdomain of the Glory domain. I took a look at it, and I just have to wonder. What exactly about this subdomain fits with Iomedae at all? The main subdomain made me do a double-take, cause it just seems so unfitting for her.

"At 6th level, you can petition your divine patron for far greater power than you deserve. Activating this ability is a swift action that you must use as you cast a spell that has a reduced (but not negated) effect on a successful save. The saving throw DC of the spell increases by 2, and you gain a +2 bonus on caster level checks to overcome spell resistance with the spell. Any creature that succeeds at the saving throw instead avoids the effect entirely. If half or more of the targets are unaffected, you become shaken for a number of rounds equal to the spell’s level. If all of the targets are unaffected, you instead lose the ability to cast divine spells, channel energy, and use domain powers for 1d4+1 rounds; you can end this loss as a full-round action by loudly apologizing to your patron deity as a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity. You can use this ability once per day at 6th level, and one additional time per day for every 4 levels beyond 6th."

Asking for far greater power than you deserve? I fail to see how this is Lawful Good in the slightest. Hopefully there's an explanation out there somewhere, because I'm utterly confused.

Seriously, nordic myth is one of the hallmarks of all fantasy. Not only that but if it was made around the time Skyrim came out Paizo could have definitely cashed in on the hype from back then. Also there's plenty of lore for LOTLK that can be used for adventures, such as the abundance of fey, Viking politics, and of course eventually ending up with the party becoming kings themselves.

Hey everyone, I've had the idea for a Roman legionnaire type character, and I want some help on making a build for him. Right now I'm considering going three levels into Phalanx Soldier Fighter and then putting the rest in weapon and shield Skirmisher Ranger. I'd fight as him by taking quick draw and starting at range throwing a pilum or two, then going in with his spear or gladius depending on the range. Any feat recommendations for this build? Any other ideas for a character like this?
