For several weeks, excitement has been building in Kenabres — Armasse is coming! Traditionally Armasse was an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history from wars past. However, since Aroden’s death, this holy day has become more about training commoners in weaponry, choosing squires, and ordaining new priests. Over time, Armasse has grown to encompass jousting competitions, mock duels, battle reenactments, and other festival events. In Kenabres, the festival date, 16 Arodus, is eagerly anticipated, for it provides distractions from the horrors of being on the front line of the war. Smiles on faces normally marred by downcast eyes and furrowed brows do wonders for city morale in the weeks leading up to the event.

Although Armasse is a citywide celebration, the majority of the event, including its jousting matches and other entertainments, takes place at Clydwell Plaza, just west of the cathedral. It is here that the campaign begins, with the PCs in attendance near the cathedral’s facade — each of whom has been lucky enough to get a good spot to observe the opening ceremonies at noon. In just a few moments, Lord Hulrun will take his place before the temple for the blessing which officially opens the festival.

Game on! We'll start with a bit of introductory role-playing. Please take a moment in this opening scene to describe your character, offer a bit of backstory on what has led to him/her to Kenabres and the festival of Armasse, describe what he/she is doing now, and so forth.

Discussion thread now open.

Greetings! I'm looking for 5 or 6 PCs to have a go at the Wrath of the Righteous AP. Want to create Mythic PCs, descend into the horrors of the Worldwound and battle the abyssal hordes therein? Look no further!

I should be able to post at least one substantial post every day, and likewise, I hope my players will be able to contribute something to the game on a daily basis as well. I do have other commitments, such as work and family, so I don't expect the game to move at a breakneck pace; probably more of a moderate, one or two posts a day, pace.

If you want to play, please first download and read the free Player's Guide. Ultimately, I would like to select PCs each with different Campaign Traits, and desired Mythic Paths. Please reply with a character concept including race/class, alignment, campaign trait and desired Mythic Path, and also a bit of background and description. You need not write more than a couple of paragraphs, and no stats are needed at this time. Mostly, I want a sense of your writing style, and evidence that you've put at least a bit of thought into a player character. I'll choose the five or six which resonate with me most strongly, while also considering party balance.

PC Creation Guidelines:

-20 point buy
-Average Starting Gold
-No evil alignments
-2 Traits (one campaign, one other)
-Most Paizo published material will be allowable, although I confess that I am one of those DM's who is a little leery of Summoners. You'll have to wow me to get in if you pitch one, fyi. If your idea is really far off the beaten path, run it by me first and I'll let you know what I think.

I'll keep the recruiting period open for a few days, but if I get flooded with intriguing character concepts, I may close things up early. In any case, I'll be sure to give 24 hours' notice before closing recruitment. I'm looking forward to your ideas!

In the small town of Swallowfeld, life is never easy. The hamlet's sturdy folk toil diligently to eke out their existence in the fields and mines of the Lonely Coast, always aware that tomorrow holds no promises. They take life one day at a time.

Except for the Harvest Festival...

This is the one time of year when the people of Swallowfeld set aside their toils and troubles for three days and nights of unabashed merrymaking. Music and laughter fill the air, brightly colored sashes and pennants hang from every home's bough. And, of course, delicious food and strong drink flow freely.

Among the most time-honored traditions of the Festival are the contests. Villagers of all stations come together to pit themselves against one another in feats of strength, of skill, of magical prowess, and of wits. Although sportsmanship and integrity are paramount, an entire year's worth of bragging rights are on the line, so the townsfolk take these games quite seriously. Outsiders are welcome to join in the fun for a nominal entrance fee as well.

It is in this environment that you find yourself in the town of Swallowfeld tonight. Perhaps you came specifically to partake of the Harvest Festival's games and vittles. Or, perhaps you are a traveler of the Lonely Coast, who has just happened upon the annual celebration. In any case, it's not hard to notice that in some of the villagers' eyes and words runs an undercurrent of tension...even fear. Obviously, despite the brave faces and loud music, something is amiss in Swallowfeld.

Game on! Feel free to embellish any details you'd like regarding the games or available wares at the festival.

Welcome players! Let's get the creative juices flowing, and start discussing character ideas for the party.

Also, re: Dice rolling versus point buy? Anyone have a strong preference for one or the other?

A ruined monument to folly and ego, the Shadowed Keep stands atop an isolated bluff deep in a mist-wreathed forest. Sacked by marauding goblins decades ago the place was thought abandoned, but shadows now creep among the forest's great boles and footprints have appeared on the single, overgrown track leading to the keep. Travellers have begun to disappear with alarming regularity from the nearby road and the local folk fear some slumbering evil has claimed the ruin as its own.

Dare you brave the terrors of the Shadowed Keep to crush that which lurks within or will darkness shroud the surrounding lands?

Calling all intrepid heroes! I am seeking 4 or 5 1st level PCs for a new play by post venture. I'll be running 'Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands' from Raging Swan Press, a well-designed site-based dungeon crawl which hearkens back to some of fantasy role-playing's classic dungeons.

As for me, I am a first-time play by post DM, but I have played and DM'ed RPGs of all stripes for the better part of thirty years. I hope to strike a tone which combines the best elements of classic dungeon crawling with the development of interesting character personalities. We will be largely sticking to Pathfinder Core Rules only, although I may allow exceptions, on a case by case basis.

I'm hoping to kick off this adventure soon, so I expect this will be a fairly brief recruitment process. That said, it's not necessarily first come, first served. Rather, I will simply end recruitment when I have found four or five players who seem like a good fit for me as DM, and for this game. So long as I haven't yet stated that recruitment is closed, you're still welcome to throw your hat in the ring.

If you're interested, please post with a little bit of information about yourself. Who are you, why do you want to play, why should I pick you? Fully developed character sheets or backgrounds are not necessary, but if you have a preference for a certain party role, you may say so. Once I've selected the players, we can collaboratively build a balanced party together.

Any questions, please just ask. I'm looking forward to reading your ideas!
