I think there may be a bug with shipping calculations or I have something configured wrong on my account.

I sidecarted my order to save on shipping and my option should be set to use the cheapest possible shipping method. My account's subscription page calculates shipping as 6 separate packages for 6 items using standard shipping at a really high amount.

I understand shipping costs are subject to change so I am not expecting accuracy but seeing it say it will ship them in 6 separate packages defeats the point of sidecarting an order.

Thank you for your help.

For some reason I received notification of this order when I have it set so the comic is sent with my monthly subscription and NOT alone. I do not want the comic sent alone as it doubles the price of the comic with the shipping cost.

As soon as I got the initial email about this order getting ready to be shipped I sent a response. Now I have been given a tracking number.

This is the third or fourth time this has occurred. However this time the shipping tracking info email came the same day before you could respond.

How do I stop this shipment?

In preparing this, there is something mentioned in both the backstory and blocked text that I don't entirely understand

EOTT Part II:

Quote:
After the PCs uncovered a traitor within the Pathfinder Society and saved the life of a member of the mysterious Decemvirate

I don't know who they saved that was a member of the Decemvirate... who is the Decemvirate that they supposedly saved? Osprey? Eliza Petulengro? Normally I would gloss over this fact since some of the backstory is never revealed to players but it is mentioned in Eliza Petulengro's blocked text and the players may have questions about that.

If they ask I could of course just have her brush it off like she slipped up or something.

Thanks

The acting Venture Captain over the area I am in has announced that Eyes of the Ten is probably going to be retired soon.

Is this true? I hope it isn't because we have two groups ready to play it but are waiting for life events to make it so they have time to play it. One group is waiting for someone heavily involved in a major service activity that takes up over seventy hours a week for one more year. Another group has been waiting on someone that just had a baby and he is not participating in PFS at all so he can help his wife not feel as stressed during the difficulty of raising a newborn.

Why would it need to be retired? How would retiring it benefit Pathfinder Society. Every person I have talked to that has played it has said it is a really good arc that everyone needs to experience without spoilers.

Are newer players not allowed to participate in this story arc in PFS? Sure we could just "play it outside of PFS" but I have players that don't want to finish Emerald Spire outside of PFS even though getting through all of emerald spire doesn't help a single other character of theirs in PFS and puts you well into retirement. We are currently leveling up another replacement for someone who has stepped down so we can continue in the levels where there is no Pregen the GM could play to make a table of 3 legal for PFS.

When we've had people complain about there not being enough scenarios to play, why do we need to reduce the number of scenarios available to play? Especially ones that are held in such a high esteem as these?

Grand Lodge 5/5

I think I already know the answer.

My Emerald Spire group is having a problem, we had four people playing it since five people appeared to be too many for Emerald Spire's lower levels. However, one player has had life circumstances come up and we are almost to Floor 10 where the level ranges are 8-10.

My interpretation is you can't play floors 10-16 without four players because there is no Pregen a GM could play to make a table legal. Is there any exception to this?

Thanks

There is a problem with shipping on this order, it wants to ship my stuff in 5 separate packages.

This is the second month in a row where the subscription confirmation email wanted to ship my order in a large number of packages. I thought I would have time to get this resolved but I already got an email today saying one of the 5 packages is about to ship.

I confirmed on the original order for this item that it was to be sidecarted from the confirmation email you sent me on September 28th order #3730098.

Is there any way I can get the shipment fixed so everything is shipped together (or 2 packages if it is actually cheaper) so I don't pay an extremely large shipping fee for 37305370?

I GM'd and reported a lot of games with several characters I have not added yet. Due to the new reporting bug I added those characters quickly and I noticed their sessions are not linked with the already reported sessions on that PFS#.

This is important because I give out new PFS#'s so I can report games without waiting for people to get back to me after they create their character. I've always told people they can create their account with their card and the session I report will automatically be linked to their character.

Bugs that prevent a coordinator from reporting games are really bad because often times coordinators do not have the ability to get more information, especially at conventions.

There appears to be several bugs affecting me and games reported by my characters.

I cannot report non core games. I keep getting an error saying the character is the wrong type.

At least half the people have not created their characters on this website.

Some of the characters were created before the core change.

Also I notice that hitting the show all scenario button now makes it so I show no scenarios and can't get back without exiting and coming back in.

I am also a GM and I reported games with several characters I have not added yet. I went a head and created those characters and it appears to not link those characters with the games already reported when I click to see that character's sessions.

Please email me if you need more information on this and how I can recreate this problem.

Hey,

I've been tossing around ideas for a paladin of Kurgess to try to make a unique kind of paladin. My GM for the campaign I am building him for pointed out how he liked Faiths of Purity and the paladin codes for a few different dieties and asked me for some kind of code Kurgess's paladins would follow.

For those who don't know who Kurgess is, he is a Neutral Good God of bravery, competition, and sports. He became a diety after he saw a trap in one of his competitions, and he deliberately sprang it on himself to prevent anyone else in the competition from getting hurt. For more information, he has a small piece in Inner Sea Gods.

I view a paladin of Kurgess as someone who loves sportsmanship and values teamwork.

Code for Human Paladin of Kurgess:
I will put my team before myself. I will value my teammates lives above my own.

I will help my teammates overcome their weaknesses and seek to bring out their strengths.

I will be positive and uplifting to my team.

I will not tolerate cheating in any kind of organized competition, and will call it out if I ever see it.

I will be respectful to my opponents in any kind of competition.

If any I choose to fight ask me for a fair fight, I will always give it to them.

I will promote good sportsmanship in all that I do.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

I preordered 4 items in order 3185709, and one of them shipped already.

Apparently I missed the option to put the order in my side cart, but when I got the notice that the first item was about to ship I saw it was going to ship separately. I emailed customer service and asked them to put it into my side cart instead but they did not get to the email until a month and a day, long after it had already shipped. At least the email from from Sharaya humorously lamented that she did not have access to a TARDIS.

I am loath to send a CS request on the forums due to privacy issues, but unfortunately with the delay in CS right now from email and the need for this to be resolved before the next item becomes available, I feel I need to get this resolved a little faster.

I understand you are bogged down due to increased CS requests, and am not angry about the problems.

A player is trying to convince me that this boon from Siege of the Diamond City:

boon spoiler:
Siege–Hardened: You survived the Siege of Nerosyan, and you have learned some impressive tricks for fighting demons. You gain a +1 bonus on weapon damage rolls against creatures with the demon subtype. Before rolling a caster level check to overcome a demon’s spell resistance, you may cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet to gain a +3 bonus on the roll.

applies to his Eidolon, but I tell him I don't think it does because it says "you gain a bonus" not "you and your companion gain a bonus". I do not believe this applies to animal companions, summons, nor eidolons. He claims that in the case of a summoner, his eidolon is him because that is where all of his power is.

I've searched the boards, about boons for Siege of the Diamond City and can't seem to find any ruling on this.

Does anyone know where a Paizo representative has ruled on this situation?

Thanks.

I'm the event coordinator for a big event going on in a week, and I've noticed some stuff that would be nice to have on the default session sheets.

Now, I know it is too late for me to get these changes before that event but maybe this will help someone else or be around next time.

1) We need to have a spot to enter the scenario that was ran. In case we have an event that has more than one scenario available. I've seen GM's forget to write down what scenario they run at past events.

2) We need boxes for the GM's to check the possible victory conditions. I believe there are only 4 possible ones: A, B, C, and D. Or, we could just have a line to enter them in.

3) Do we still need Shadow Lodge and Lantern Lodge? Those could be removed.

4) We might want to have a '-' already entered or a separate entry for PFS# and character#. I've had too many people leave the character number off.

I am thinking of making some changes to my download for my event with those in and photo copying those changes.

Hello all,

We are running some tables of We Be Goblins tomorrow, and I thought I might bring this up so I can make sure people apply the chronicle sheet correctly.

In We Be Goblins, you have to play a level 1 pregen. You have no choice. However this means that everyone will be affected by the following rule:

Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play 4.2 page 6 wrote:
If you play a 1st-level pregenerated character, you can apply the credit for her first adventure to a newly created character of your very own.

So, correct me if I am wrong, We Be Goblins, for players, can ONLY be applied as the first chronicle sheet to a new character.

Just want to make sure I understand this correctly.

Thanks,
Terek

I have been told repeatedly by multiple people in PFS games that I am DMing that Eidolon's do not get healed by channeling positive energy. They also said that a cleric had to take the alignment channeling feat and the cleric would have to channel that way in order to heal them.

I have searched the rules and can't see anything to back either claim.

Channel on the cleric says (for positive energy)

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/classes/cleric.html#_cleric wrote:

A good cleric (or one who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures.

So long as they are not undead it would heal them if they are targeting the living. To me this applies to outsiders as as long as they are living. So this would heal demons even if the cleric didn't do something to exclude them if they are in range (such as selective channelling).

Alignment Channel says the following

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/feats.html wrote:

Alignment Channel

...
Benefit: Instead of its normal effect, you can choose to have your ability to channel energy heal or harm outsiders of the chosen alignment subtype. You must make this choice each time you channel energy. If you choose to heal or harm creatures of the chosen alignment subtype, your channel energy has no effect on other creatures. The amount of damage healed or dealt and the DC to halve the damage is otherwise unchanged.

Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take this feat, it applies to a new alignment subtype. Whenever you channel energy, you must choose which type to effect

italics added.

This says it specifically targets outsiders that have the chosen alignment subtype. Meaning if you channel evil, to hit the creature it would have to be subtype Evil in order to heal or hurt them. Even if a demon saw the light and changed to good it would still have the subtype evil and be harmed or healed by this.

Eidolons do not have any alignment subtype so as it is written this couldn't target them at with any alignment subtype. Not to mention they are saying Aasimars have to have alignment Channel to heal them when they have no alignment subtype at all in the monster manual.

Is there some actual rule that I am missing? I see nothing that says if you channel positive energy it doesn't hit outsiders. I have one regular player that plays a summoner and he wanted me to research this.

Thanks in advance.

There is a problem with the final boss's tactics... it is not possible unless I am somehow missing something.

Spoiler:

It says the final boss cast's true strike and then readies an action to use her domain power to throw the axe at the first person she sees casting a spell. First of all, true strike is a standard action and her domain power specifically says it is a standard action. I see no way for her to quicken true strike so you can't do that the same round.

So to follow the tactics I had her just cast true strike.

Next problem. Even if she readies the action the next round, true strike affects your next attack but wears off and the end of the next round. So if you cast it the round prior, it will be worn off at the end of your next turn thus not being applicable to readied actions at all.

So the final boss wasted a round casting true strike and just let it wear off. The cleric that almost got dropped in one shot, was missed because true strike wore off (I noticed this problem after I rolled the damage then asked someone to look up true strike to make sure I was correct that it wears off the end of your next turn).

Let me know if I am missing something on his/her tactics because per the rules, it is not possible.

A question came up in our last game and I have not been able to find a resolution.

Making a touch attack is a standard action. Casting a spell is a standard action, but you can make a touch attack as part of casting a spell, or hold the charge and make a touch attack later.

A person wanted to cast the spell, make a 5 ft step, and then make the touch attack. My question is will this work? I allowed it because I did not want to spend a lot of time researching it more than we already did.

To my understanding, you can make a 5 ft step in the middle of a full attack. With that mechanic you could assume it works with casting a spell too.

Since this is in PFS I need official rule quotes to justify statements, rather than opinions since I am not allowed to alter rules in PFS.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Terek

In a recent PFS Scenario, a player took a direct hit from alchemist fire while climbing a ladder. The player fell unconscious, fell from the ladder, taking falling damage.

I wasn't familiar with the rules on inventory taking damage from alchemist fire so I decided to let it pass this time. The player barely got healed before he died completely from the ongoing fire damage and survived.

The player was carrying several bottles of alchemist fire and said they might go off. In interest of time, I decided to let it pass this time and will research the rules in case this comes up again.

I haven't found anything about this. Does anyone know where the rules are for items taking damage from aoes (or even items taking damage from a player carrying them falling?) Also, how much damage can alchemist fire take before it ignites?

The most I have found is the Magic Chapter's comment about spells, not fire damage.

Core Rulebook Page 217 wrote:
Items Surviving after a Saving Throw: Unless the descriptive text for the spell specifies otherwise, all items carried or worn by a creature are assumed to survive a magical attack. If a creature rolls a natural 1 on its saving throw against the effect, however, an exposed item is harmed (if the attack can harm objects). Refer to Table: Items Affected by Magical Attacks: Items Affected by Magical Attacks. Determine which four objects carried or worn by the creature are most likely to be affected and roll randomly among them. The randomly determined item must make a saving throw against the attack form and take whatever damage the attack dealt.

If the selected item is not carried or worn and is not magical, it does not get a saving throw. It simply is dealt the appropriate damage.

I am looking for official rules rather than people's personal interpretations because I can't house rule anything, this is Pathfinder Society Organized Play. So please, let me know where you got your information.

Thank you,
Terek

A friend and I are running PFS scenarios at a local store and have recruited more GMs so we can play too. We have been doing this on our own. We also have enough players that we will need 3 gms if all of our regulars come every day. The closest Venture captain is in a city about 40-50 miles away.

I've looked up the requirements for a venture captain and neither of us can commit to that for both financial and time available reasons.

Yet the requirements state the venture captain is supposed to:

* Maintain and update monthly a full report of local game stores including contact information, manager's name, what Paizo products they carry, and whether or not they're running Pathfinder Society Organized Play events (with or without your assistance). Work with these stores to ensure they are registered on paizo.com/paizo/about/retailers.

* To the best of your ability, ensure that all Pathfinder Society Organized Play sessions run in your local area or region of responsibility are reported and reported accurately.

I have been working with my friend to make sure things do get reported... and have volunteered to report all the stuff he and the other GMs run so we can make sure they start getting reported (I have always reported mine).

Are we supposed to work with the nearest Venture Captain somehow or can we just continue as we are.

What is a Venture Lieutenant?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

My group is still in the first adventuring area, but because I play on a virtual table top I really have to analyze everything and do a lot of prep work. I noticed this contradiction in the last area of Brinewall legacy.

Spoiler:

On Kikonu's treasure it states:
...and a darkwood-and-silver disc decorated with an intricate etching of Brinewall under the noonday sun. This disc radiates faint transmutation magic, and unknown to Kikonu, is one of two crests required to access Brinewall Castle’s subterranean vaults (area W1).

On Nindinzego's treasure it states:
...a darkwood-and-silver disc decorated with an intricate etching of Brinewall under the midnight moon. This disc radiates faint transmutation
magic and is one of two crests needed to access Brinewall Castle’s vaults (area W1). Kikonu gave Nindinzego this disc as proof of his friendship, telling the fiend that it was one of two keys needed to access the vault.

Now you could argue that Kikonu knew the crest he gave was one part of the key but didn't know that the crest he had was the other part. I personally don't think that makes as much sense. The reason he didn't get the treasure down there is because he didn't find the secret door inside the vault.

Is there a way I can make an order and have some of the pdfs for me and some of the PDFs for a friend?

The reason for this is because of the special holiday coupon on one purchase only. Me and another guy are DMing pathfinder society in our local game store and I want to buy several scenarios for me and several scenarios for him but I don't want to have the same scenarios as him for when I play in his campaign.

As I can see from the checkout process I can only see how to send them out to every recipient but not a way to split the order.

If there is no way to split the order, could I just get them all for my account and then not download the ones I am giving to him and then have paizo customer service transfer the ones I didn't download to someone else's account?

I really don't want to give the pdf's to him watermarked as mine even if I delete my copy.

At first I was excited about the idea of Pathfinder Online but as I read the overall idea of what they want to accomplish I saw this

Goblin Works said wrote:
Character-controlled settlements can grow into full-fledged kingdoms that compete for resources as they seek to become the dominant force in the land, raising vast armies to hold their territory against the depredations of monstrous creatures, NPC factions, and other player characters.

I was fine up until I saw "and other player characters".

Personally I am not for PVP online thanks to Penny Arcade's Internet [Jerk] Theory (I got the second word wrong on purpose to make it cleaner). It describes how anonymity makes a normal person a complete jerk.

Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Complete Jerk (edited again for content issues).

While there are a lot of people who don't try to just grief others there are some who just get kicks on just trying to make others suffer. I like friendly games, not antagonistic ones.

I will watch this game's development and will play, only if the opportunity for griefing other people is minimized. Now, I may be a minority and if I am then Goblin Works would be fiscally foolish to try to appeal to the kind of gamer I am. I hope it is a success whether I play it or not because I love Pathfinder and hope it will continue to flourish.

I am running a Jade Regent campaign in D20 Pro which lets me import images as maps and align the grid. Yet I can't seem to align the grid to the maps in Jade Regent.

First, the squares aren't perfect squares. Their height and width don't seem to match exactly. On one map it seems to be one pixel wider.

Second, the squares aren't perfectly uniform. Some squares are slightly a different size from the others.

Was this intentional?

I can remake the maps as soon as I get my campaign cartographer up but I won't have that until Christmas and am starting soon. Might have to use things off center until I can get this corrected.

There is something about Golarion Goblins that no one else's goblins seem to have. There is something about their wide head that just makes them that much better looking.

I love the image in Ultimate Combat where a goblin is crying because someone stole his sword. I just think of a little child saying "No... Mine!"

I've showed my wife the pictures of the goblins and she said they remind her of Lilo in Lilo and Stitch.

All the other goblins I have seen seem to be generic and bland but Golarion goblins seem to have some evil childlike flair to them.

I have no idea how Paizo took something common and generic and created something truly unique out of them.

Ok, I will now shut up about how much I love Pathfinder goblins. Just had to get that off my chest.

The path is said to be 500 miles, passes through Galduria, Wolf's Ear, Roderic's Cove and possibly Riddleport.

I want my games to have a stronger fantasy feel to them that I don't feel guns have. How much of the campaign world (I have yet to buy it) would I have to alter to eliminate guns from Golarion? I am all for replacing them with crossbows or bows in the regions that have them.
