With these changes are they going to make it so some scenarios require an effective star rating of 6 or 7?

Why can't we have catfolk in PFS? What did you do?

No, Gunslingers themselves are actually a bit UNDER-powered.

Guns hitting at Touch Attacks are nasty, but not OP, and several other Ranged classes have extremely similar tricks (including anyone with a Wand of Scorching Ray, which is MUCH more devastating than most firearms).
...

I will just disagree with you. From my experience, way too many times higher level gun users hit on a 2. If you make it so you add your dexterity to damage it becomes even worse; especially when you roll that natural 20 that is almost always confirmed at a x4.

Scorching ray wands are typically more expensive per shot (120 gp per shot unless you take craft wand) and you usually can only ever fire one a round. Also they do fire damage and fire resistance/immunity is one of the more common ones, in my opinion. Not to mention, gun users usually have a higher BAB so will hit more often.

With Rapid Reload and paper cartridges, gun users can shoot an amazing number of times, however the misfire rate does go up with paper cartridges.

Now I will explain the real nemesis and one true enemy of this build.

Doors

There is a simple solution to this build that adds some hilarity and flavor. At the higher levels when the damage bonus is higher than the door's hardness, the songbird of doom could full attack the door!

"Few, it can't open doors so we are safe!"
[short pause]
[THUD THUD THUD]
[The door has three holes in it, none of which are big enough for the bird to fly through, yet]

I just want to put this out there. Not everyone dislikes ACG, MA, and WotR.

I love the advanced class guide. Sure mistakes happen, but it has some very creative and fun classes that fill new niches. My players that have used it like it too.

I also love Mythic Adventures and Wrath of the Righteous. I feel they fill a more thematic niche.

Different players have different tastes. I am grateful for the variety Paizo provides. Even though I may not like everything.

Paizo is a company that does quality assurance before they release things. Mistakes still get through, but their products have fewer mistakes than most other role playing companies I interact with. Even if all they have to do is save as jpeg and package it, I bet they will then have people test the package to see if it has any problems that slipped through, such as the grid or items aren't perfectly square for a VTT format or their copyright ownership declaration is missing. Add that on their already heavy load they currently have and it may not be feasible at this time for them. The truth is we don't know how many man hours they would spend testing because we don't know their full process. We got a glimps of it in their blog when they made a mistake on the Advanced Class guide within the last few weeks.

Oh and technically, since we do not own the copyright to the images in the PDFs we download, to even put them in a virtual tabletop, we'd need permission to convert/use them in that format from the copyright owner because we would be distributing the images to our players. Now Paizo might be ok with us extracting the images ourselves and using them in our own personal use but without their permission we could get in trouble. They may have given it somewhere but I haven't seen it on these boards or this website. I've only seen some form of consent when I asked them about how their copyright works when I had a Pathfinder Society player demand I give him my PDFs from Paizo... I knew it wasn't but he wouldn't take no for an answer until I had a response from. Paizo... Once for him demanding I give him my scenarios and once for him demanding i give him my PDFs from their campaign/companion/core books.

Note: I did not say exactly what that permission was because I have no way of knowing what they said to me applies to every one else.

Edit: Fixing punctuation.

I was thinking they might consider a licensed marshmallow cereal!

Pathfinder... its a breakfast now! Pathfinder... it's a cereal wow!

Bonus points if you get the reference.

This is just a request. Please don't watermark the Quick Start Guide. I want to print those out to hand to new players without giving them my paizo.com email account. I use different email accounts for different things for security reasons.

yeah, ya know how excitement goes and all =D Hoping for some information now that it's around the corner so to speak.

They are behind on sanctioning modules with how busy they are preparing for the end of season 5 and the beginning of season 6. I don't know if this one will come out too quickly unless they make it a higher priority than they have with Tears at Bitter Manor and Wardens of the Reborn Forge.

Me, I am hoping they make it runnable in campaign mode... I didn't start running modules for PFS until they let us run Dragons Demand in Campaign mode. I've always felt the modules weren't balanced well for PFS but the scenarios were so I stuck to those.

Secondly - A lot of the large and rare pieces leave me flat. Paizo's dragons in particular lack zest and personality (which is why I skipped both the White and Red evolution sets-- this is true in the 2D art as well!) Todd Lockwood knocked it out of the park, and spoiled me on generic looking dragons.
...

Personally, I feel Paizo's dragons have more flair. Reds remind me of barbed devils. Green remind me of a stalking rhino lizard. I like the sleek blues. Each to their own I guess.

I was worried when they had a very short time scheduled between Reign of Winter and Wrath of the Righteous. I was glad when they changed the schedule. Three to Four a year is just right for me. Again, everyone has different preferences.

How do you get sneak attack on a full attack action when you vanish? I thought it works like Invisibility and drops when you attack so only your first attack gets sneak attack, unless you use your helm of the stag on all extra attacks.

I've got a mage in the party I'm running this for. Long-term player, knows to get scrolls, etc. He was wondering if there was a local mage he could buy items/scrolls/various and sundry from.

With Hunclay's death, is there anyone else who fits this bill?

If not, it's no big shakes.. the PC wizard has already figured 'well, if there isn't a resident wizard now, I'll take the spot.'

Here is how I am dealing with that.

Spoiler:

There is one level 5 caster in town, the alchemist Xemne of Degazi. I gave item creation feats to her.

Also if you look on page 59 on the city summary, there is info about some places with magic items for sale.

Creature names copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro) unique to the Dungeons & Dragons brand can only be used through the Open Gaming License (OGL). You can't put the OGL info on a miniature, so Wizkids must use a name not under copyrights. At least this is how I understand it.

So the name Mummy is not a copyrighted name thus no foul. But the name Balor is unique to D&D. D&D was under restraints too and could not use the copyrighted name Balrog. It was licensed by some obscure author's estate. ;)

I can understand that people have to be careful with the OGL licensed monsters, but if they can't mention it even a FAQ, how could they mention it in Demon's Revisited?

I wasn't asking them to use the copyrighted name on the miniature, I was asking them to have a quick list of "A in the bestiary can also be called B". That way people who don't happen to know that "fire demon" is another name for Balor, and "serpent demon" is another name for Marilith. That way they know what monster in the bestiary is what miniature.

Thank you so much for slowing it down. Having a full set two months after the last set was making me really nervous about being able to keep up with my collection.

While these miniatures are way better than wizards on almost every time. There are only a couple that I prefer from their set over yours.

One request though. Some of the miniatures have a name different from the bestiary when they aren't named creatures. For instance "Fire Demon" is a Balor. "Toad Demon" is a Hezroe. "Death Demon" is a Nabasu. Unless it is a named creature, could we possibly get a FAQ or download somewhere to list the conversion to the bestiary name? I only knew what the Death Demon was because I found it in the second page of Demon's Revisited. The reason being is when I prepare for a game I search my list of miniatures to see what I have that might be appropriate. If I see an alternate name I will definitely put that in my list as well so when I search for "Balor" I will find yours and Wizard's. I would definitely use yours over Wizards. It looks much better.

Thanks

I'm already committed to getting these, but if I paint them at all, I want to do it the laziest way possible. Is this right?

1. Ready to use!
2. Primer coat them all (I dunno with what).
3. Wash them all (ced1106 mentioned Army Painter Strong Tone ink wash).
4. Ready to use looking better!
5. Paint whenever, it's in eyedroppers.
6. Wash a mini again after done painting it.
7. Ready to use looking the best!

1) I use unpainted miniatures when DM'ing if I need them. Better than a penny... but not better than skittles where the person who get the killing blow gets to eat the skittle.

2) Get a primer that is designed for miniatures. Primers for other things like cars and such might can be too thick and hide the details. Plus there is a specific type of primer that doesn't work well with the bones line.

3) Washing before painting will help you see the detail and thus aid you in painting.

4) Yup, looks better than no wash at all

5) Use a brush... If you want varied colors on a cloak it is kindof nice to partially mix a few colors and paint with a mixed color to get easy varied colors... really there are a million tips and tricks out there.

6) You may want to consider washing with different colors based on what areas you are washing.

7) You might want to do a matte or glossy sealer to protect your paint job. If you want shiny, go with glossy, otherwise use matte. There are spray sealers, and there are sealers you brush on.

Try as I might to stop them and educate them, some of my players have some miniatures hit the other miniatures with their weapons... tempts me to have them become the primary target.

Really... look at tutorials somewhere, I really an a newb when it comes to painting and have an unsteady hand due to some health issues. I still do have a few miniatures that I am very proud of.

Try here.

Not as shiny as the pictured one but a led tealight would work. A Michaels or a Hobby Lobby would have them as well. One that sweet looking however.... good hunting and let me know if you find some.

Here is one like that that is not colored but is quite reasonably priced for 3. I think I will be ordering these. I could rig some kind of color filter for it, if I can make sure the filter wouldn't overheat.

Overall I am pleased with this change, yet I have one major concern.

Time to complete the scenario. If the 6 man just has more monsters than the 4 man, then the time for each battle will go up as there will be more players. When these are designed for 6 players I really think that care must be taken that the 6 man is balanced for 4 hours of play. If the 4 man takes less time then I am ok with that.

My groups often are more than 4 hours. People joke around say OOC stuff thus lengthening the time it takes to complete a scenario. I really do wish we could get it down to 4 hours, and we often have 6 players at our tables. If this makes it harder to get in 4 hours then I probably would consider only doing season 1-3 scenarios.
