A lean silken armored elf strides through the tent. He smiles as he enters, searching for hidden intruders. Then follows with a pair of spells (see invisibility) and imbues his sword with (magic missile). He stretches and bows then moves towards a dark corner to vanish. My shadow and I will stay here, let me know if anyone needs mortality.
I've read a few posts in this thread regarding how limited the magus is with 3/4 BAB. However, I'm wondering how accurate that statement is based on the following: 1. 1 AP every 4 levels grants +1 to your blade (for 1 minute). Which is not adding to BAB but stacks with your present weapon bonus. You can swap out +1's for keen, frost, fire etc.
So round 1 - swift action add +1/4 levels, cast touch spell & hold charge. Move into attack position +5 feet. I usually choose +1 keen
At level 10, my current magus/kensai To hit = Base 7, +4 Dex + 2 sword, +5 arc acc, -2 spell combat -2 PA = 14
on Crits blade x2 can be made x3 with 2 ap from Kensai. Spell criticals are x2 only. The max possible damage - 40d6 + 5d4 + 9d8 + 90.
I just went through this. The fight with 2 devils was hard as our party stuck weapons / armor in haversacks. The cypher went slow....I was vastly over thinking it. Time was down to the wire. We had a pair of youngsters in the group so I kept biting my tongue. there was so much innuendo in that module. When I run this for the local group, I'll have a ball. Wish my lawyer could have gone.
A plainly dressed elf bearing a curve blade looks over the table. e seems oddly shimmering as if a spell or two were in effect on his person. He wears no armor yet moves as a warrior. Good people there is no reason to ply our trades on each other while so many other marks come here to fair Varisia. The gods grant us easy acess to wealth, fame, and fortune. Surely, there is mutton enough for all of us.
A puzzled scowl on a lean elven face attracts you. He whispers something... "meet me at the Pickeled Imp.... I do so like the contracts and the chance to ply my trade in mortality. But I will not enter a pickeled imp for any amount of money. Beyond that its the Pickeled Imp II, not even the original pickeled imp. One wonders what has become of fair Varisia, to be awash in pickled imps." Oh that's the name of a bar. |
