In the previous room, Tecolote remarks on the similarity of the amulets that both Kassen and the mercenary leader wear wondering if they might have once been allies. When we reach the room with the pillar and Zandu makes his suggestion, he adds "Great idea Zandu!" Tecolote also enters, trying to be as stealthy as possible. He checks the south door for any trouble.
Perception (carnage): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Perception (south door): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Tecolote tries rolling back away from it to see if it will follow. "I think we're going to have to force that key in there while its trying to bash us. Anyone good at wrestling?"

Tecolote shrugs and puts one of his kukris away, then takes the key and tries placing it in the figure. If nothing happens, he tries turning it.

"Good eye Zandu. Of course dealing with it seems to be a skill we're lacking in our little team. Maybe we can throw something onto it to trigger it." Tecolote gets out one of his normal wakizashi's and tosses it down the corridor to land on the pressure plate.

Keolin, next time you update can you reveal the room we found the man in so we know we cleared it. Also what is his name?

"We'd better get that crossbow away from him and get him out of here. We can't have him panicking and doing that again!" Now that the man is calm, but fetal, Tecolote will try to coax him out of the room with the hope of getting him outside.

Nat 1 doesn't matter on skill checks. I'd actually recommend that we always let Nyroba lead on Diplomacy checks with the +6 and the other three of us can always try to assist. That way we're not just taking advantage of a lucky roll. Its our best chance to succeed.

We quickly check the saddlebags (which are assume are empty) and move to the left, hugging the wall. Tecolote will follow behind Nyroba (who I assume wants point).

Tecolote looks up from the bodies. "Bad news everyone. I recognize this pair. Their names are Gerol and Vark. Both are good friends of the mayor." He looks up sharply when he hears the wailing. "Their burials can wait. That does sound like someone in trouble." Tecolote follows Bolonwr to the door.

I agree, but its a matter of how you want to play the character. Since Tecolote is still relatively inexperienced, I'm playing it accordingly. Nothing wrong with the other approach either. You might have fought a bunch of undead in your youth and know the value of different sorts of weaponry.
