If not then yes but you would provoke an attack of opportunity from whatever you are engaged in melee with and would need to succeed a concentration check to actually cast the spell. So if I slashed at it with my scimitar for 6 points of damage 5 points would be negated and it would only take one point of damage. If I did 4 points of damage the skeleton would take 0 as 4 minus five is below zero. Since I am now swinging with a pot which is an improvised bludgeoning weapon even if I did 4 points of damage the skeleton would take the full 4 points of damage. DR does not apply against energy damage from spells or other sources. Did I explain that well enough? ![]()

Move around the skeleton and grab an iron pot from his bag provoking an attack of opportunity. He will then enhance the pot with his arcane pool and attack the skeleton with it holding it in two hands as an improvised weapon. attack roll: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
