Vigilant Seal

Hi all,

I have just finished my 50 days of using the (Grand Archive) Off hours study boon to learn Hunting Lore. yah! I would now like to learn Pathfinder Society Lore. So i went to purchase this boon again for the new skill. To my surprise Paizo would not allow me to purchase this boon again for the same character for the new skill. Now for my question, If I purchase this boon once does it allow me to just download the boon again and state the new skill and continue on my merry way or I am supposed to reacquire the boon for the new skill? If it the former great No problem, If it is the latter then Paizo needs to allow characters to buy boons multiple times by the same character.

Just looking for clarification on how this boon is suppose to work.

Thanks

Hi all, As I Look at the Boon Tab in Organized Play I notice that Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder are intertwined. Could I suggest that you separate the Starfinder stuff from the Pathfinder 2e Stuff. Give each Its own Tab. Maybe make separate tabs for the playtest for each system as well.

On a side note it would be nice to be able to click on a boon and bring up a description of what the boon does.

Just my two cents, on making it easier to find stuff in the boon sections.

Hello I purchased the Avid collector-core rune book boon. I expected a Wizard Ring to be on that curated list. I was sadly mistaken. Will other uncommon items that were missed in this curated list appear in future lists?

This would suck if it was an enforced rule and part of what makes the Warpriest Cleric bad if you choose the "wrong" deity. Desna has a starknife which is a martial weapon with a d4 damage. There is no way unless the Gods and magic book adds Starknife feats that a Champion of Desna would use a Starknife since every other Martial melee weapon is better and a Bow short or long beats its ranged options.

Similarly a warpriest cleric gets super screwed since they are only expert in their deity's weapon so a Warpiest of Desna has no choice as losing +2 to hit by using a harder hitting martial isn't an option.

Nicolas makes a good point that the favorite weapon may not be the best weapon for the Champion or Cleric to use. I would like to point out a situation where it might make sense for the faithful to use a starknife.

As a Elven Wizard with Desna as my God, I want to show my faith by using a starknife. It would be nice to cast a spell then for my last action thrown my +1 starknife of returning instead of standing there with a dumb look on my face. The problem before Gods and Magic 2e came out you as layperson didn't have access to your deities favorite weapon, now you don't have training with it. Seems silly that one of the faithful wouldn't have got training in their deities favorite weapon. Just a problem I am faced with in an up coming Pathfinder society 2e gaming session.

Living Rune only allows a Property Rune, the AC and save runes for armor are Fundamental Runes, so it doesn't work.

I believe that you are reading that wrong. The feat says that you get an armour Rune which is a fundamental rune and that you can have 1 property rune without restriction to armour. You can only hold a property rune if you have a fundamental rune. Yes they worded it poorly.

I have a universal wizard and I took this archetype because I wanted to free up some of my spell slots. It allows me to move Magic Armour and False Life into my innate spell casting; using charisma doesn't matter when casting those spells. It frees up my spell slots for spells that I actual use during play as opposed to spells that I only use during my daily preparations.

One benefit of putting energy-resistant rune as your property rune is that if all your equipment is taken you still have your resistance. It also doesn't count toward your invest magic limit totals. Runes don't have the invest trait.

Living runes also allow us squishy wizards to gain a little bit of AC So we are not so Squishy. I have noticed that as a Wizard that once you do a lot of damage to someone they tend to target you. Those fighter types can't seem to hold the aggro. Smile Just my two cents.

As to the Runescarred feat living rune. Armour runes are not Potency Runes. My interpretation of this feat is you can put an armour fundamental rune on your body increasing your AC. You are then allowed to place a secondary Potency Rune on your body excluding those the have restrictions, but only one. Further additional feats that haven't come out yet may allow more runes. Paizo hasn't really expanded this Dedication beyond the given material. Just my two cents.

It grants access, that means the character has satisfied the requirements to be able to select an uncommon (or rare, etc) option. Its not giving you the archetype for free.

It has no effect on your 'Pathfinder training' selected when you make your character, nor on how your investment in your school at creation time affects the bonus skill feat for 2 or 3 points in a school.

Thanks for the Clarification.

Hello all,
I would like some clarification on the Update of February 7, Concerning access the Pathfinder Society Dedication. You mention that all characters have access to the Dedication does that mean that feat is given to us or that we have the option of taking it? Currently the making of a character you get to spend 3 points and get different options to pick from to reflect your training. Does this dedication replace this in Character creation or does it add bonus to the character? The current pathfinder training allows a certain additional feat to be picked at fifth level. Will this be included in the dedication?

Thanks for all your hard work.

society players are the last to get everything and cant promote anything because they cant use over half the content in game, and what they can use takes months to get permission to use lol, which is kind of backwards since others claim society only exists to advertise.
Can I ask what region your in?

I am in the Windsor Detroit Area. I have been playing over in Detroit twice a month. It does entail crossing a international border though.

Such an interesting discussion. No hands, one hand, two hands, Wheither it requires a healing kit, or yelling or glaring at the person heals them. Having been the guy at back of the fight doing the battle medicine, none of the guys are worried about such things they are saying to themselves I got 5 hp left I need some healing I don't care were it comes from, I am about to loose this character that I have spent alot of time investing in it. What do you mean we don't have a Cleric? I guess that guy in the back row better get up and do something that heals some of my HP. So I run up to him and do battle medicine he gets back 2d8 worth of HP, maybe 4d8 if we are lucky. Now I can't use battle medicine again for the whole day. Wait what? We got another combat in 2 hours and these guys have got healed up in the meantime, but are likely to be in the same position and now I can't heal them. I guess it up to the Alchemist to heal them then. Oh! We don't have one of those in the party either. This is going to be a long day!

For us new players that haven't been but might like to go, could we have the complete information or at least a link to the information for Paizo con. Thanks for enlightening me.

Just some thoughts, I just recently got involved with Pathfinder. 2e was just coming out, I didn't have a group my local hobby store barely had any product no one was playing pathfinder 2e. I found a group through the pathfinder2e society an hour away. If you want to sell product you have to have people playing the game. As people have said, organized play allows people to try the game, become familiar with the rules and maybe start running home games and having their players buy the books. We in the pathfinder society are the early adopters, champions of the game if we get the new stuff first we promote the hell out of it. I am excited to play this game and use all the stuff that is available. As time goes by maybe I will become a little less excited and think about moving to a different game.
Thank for allowing me to put in my two cents.

Wondering when or if the Lost Omens World Guide and Lost Omens Character Guide information will be allowed in Pathfinder Society (2nd edition) organized play?

Just wanting a clarification for battle medicine feat. You can heal yourself or an adjacent ally, even in combat. You Attempt a Medicine check with the same DC as for treat wounds and provide the corresponding amount of healing, as with treat wounds, you can attempt checks against higher DCs if you have the minimum proficiency rank. Target is the temporary immune to your Battle Medicine for 1 day. Does this mean that they are immune to your Medicine skill? I read that they are two different abilities earlier in this thread, but is that true? The Lost Omens only have feats that you can gain if your a member of that fraction. I don't recall see anything that would reduce the immunity of battle Medicine down to 1 hour instead of 1 day. It would be nice to be able to heal players once / combat instead of once / session. From my very limited experience with combat the monsters pack a wallop. 1 CS hit and the level 1 dwarf ranger goes down. There was only one level 2 sewer ooze. If we didn't have an Alchemist in the party feeding us minor elixirs of life the party would have died on the first encounter let alone on the rest of the adventure. Just my two cents. Smile?

This is an interesting thread, so I will add my two cents in. Lol Marriage in a long life humanoid creature is one of need, what are the benefits of being in that relationship. We think of Sex and passion in human relationships as being the driving force on entering and sustaining that relationship. This may not hold true with a race that is so long lived. What is 50 years to an immortal? I view the Elven people as souls doing their own things (interests) coming together bonding and raising a child. There own identity is not tied up with that child as it is in human society. You would have many children over the course of your life and so would your children and their children. I view an Elven society where the children would be raised communally and would form ties more generationally with there peers as opposed to parents to child relationships. The benefits of said relationships may be passion but it could be other factors that make the relationship work. Intellectual compatibility, Emotional support, Deep understanding of what the other is going through. Regardless, the long life humanoid will not get overly attached to the relationship staying the same and or continuing forever.
