Boop!

I have no problem with you rolling for me if it's as a reaction to something you did. In PbP it's an important practice for GM's to make rolls like that because it speeds the game along instead of waiting for everyone to roll. That's of course excluding rolls for when we take actions, like climbing, fighting, persuading, ect.

Yeah, knowing ahead of time what we're getting into is good. Some people might judge a GM for not knowing the setting well, but TBH, in my Pathfinder game, my players know more than I do about Golarion :P

But anyway, I finished the stats on my character. I won't have time to post the full background until Wednesday or Thursday probably (real busy, I am). But in short, he's a 61yo Ring Flyer navigator/scout type. He lived the first half of his life as a spacer, mostly planetary exploration, geomapping, that sort of thing. Joined the hypercorp military where he was a scout and remained until he was killed in the Fall, but of course was backed up and uploaded into this body. He spent the next years exploring/gatecrashing until his ship suffered some sort of malfunction and was rescued by the group we'll be working for, I was thinking. He then decided the join them.

I used the Life Path system (mostly randomized, but I did move some skills around like it said I could), so if that's too OP, we can work it out. The first thing I'd like to drop is my Moxie if I need to lower anything. My skills and augments and robot are very important to me. I don't know if I got more augments than usual, but I really love augments, and only bought ones that could help in exploring (sensors, survival, mobility). Same with gear and robot (all CRB sensors, enhanced transportation capabilities). The Sense Filter is from Panopticon and the Survival Belt is from Gatecrashing. I may have some other non-CRB/transhuman augmentations but I can't remember any in particular right now.

Muse's name is Pepper and is stored in his head, with a copy in his Servitor, who serves him while at home. Also has a Recon Hopper (Gatecrashing) named Tarry that has been heavily modified with sensor and mobility augmentations (and also some armor).

As a character, he's a nice, playful old guy. He has his body kept looking like he's 51 years old (in old Human years) for some reason. He is pro-technology and pro-transhuman with a focus on robots and morphs. He treats all AI with respect, knowing that even if they lack the same sentience that he has, everything deserves respect. This gets him some anarchist rep, of course. He also is respectful towards uplifts, and well, everyone else, too. He's a thrill seeker and can often be found hanging by his tail, climbing walls, or gliding.

Character Sheet (can turn into an alias if approved)

Yeah, I figured as much, thanks. Also, I had planned on it being a copy, but thanks for the advice :) I'm nearly done with my character. Also, it seems like I can, but to be clear, can I buy a robot and then buy robotic enhancements for it? It says they're for synthmorphs/robots, so it looks like I can, but I'm not sure. I really want to make a robot with sensors and stuff that I (a biomorph) cannot use.

Hey, can I put my muse in a servitor bot? I assume I can, but I can't find whether it says either way. I just want to check :)

I'll try to have a character concept up later, but it'd help if I had some info on the campaign itself. If you're still getting things together, that's fine. So, what kinds of character roles does an EP typically have? Psionicist, scientist, fighter, doctor, stealth, hacker, pilot, ect.

A week starting now, or a week starting after you post the campaign info? Because that'll be important. Also, we seem to have a party of people assembled already? Maybe we should just stick together and talk to figure out a good balanced party instead of everyone just throwing in characters and seeing what sticks? Just my two cents, anyhow.

Bumpity bump.

I'm still interested, but yeah the holidays kind mess PBP up. It was fine though, thanks.

Yeah, I just downloaded all of them today (for free cause I'm poor). Haven't had much time to look through them today, but I can start with Transhuman and then move onto whichever book might be useful (like Gatecrashing if we use it), you dig?

Make that five. I'll have to freshen up, though, as I haven't read the books in awhile. I know I have the core, but I can't remember what others I have. I'll check later.

*nods approvingly but stays out of Liz's way* Nicely done.

Recently, one of my players became unavailable to play, so I am left looking for a player. The party is just about at the end of chapter 1 of 6, so not that much has happened.

Game time is Thursday, 7 PM EST to 11 or 12. Game is on Roll20, but is a voiceless/videoless game. I am a GM who loves when players roleplay, even with each other, and while I can be pretty laid back, when I put my foot down, I expect my decisions to be final. I some times mess up on the rules, and you can question me on them, as I like making sure everyone is clear and in agreement, but if I give a final ruling, that is done. I also hate the Pathfinder rules a bit, and may veto some things brought to the table. But I am also fair, and only do it to balance the game. You'll also need a Skype to keep contact.

So far there is a low-health but very handy at stealing and stuff Rogue, a strong Magus who is good with debuffs and RP, and a raging Barbarian who likes animals and death. The Barbarian might be leaving soon, as well, so I might be looking for a second character as well! The one who left was a Priest who did lots of combat and healing (but mostly combat :P). The tone of the group is playful at times, but also quite serious at others. Pretty much what one would expect. I don't run a comedy, but funny things happen because we're here to have fun.

The group could benefit from a divine caster or either a full combat or full arcane caster character. The player leaving did leave some gaps in combat and healing. I believe the Magus is going for debuffs, so maybe a character that can provide buffs (like a Cleric) could help.

Now, for character creation! I have some houserules for skills, listed below, that are important. I also level the part up as I see fit, and don't use XP. It's level 3, I allow any CRB, will probably allow most Paizo and 3pp stuff, so ask before using it (I'll probably say yes!). Starting gold for level 3, but ask before buying magic items (I'll probably allow a +1 weapon or something similar, as the party has some low-power magic items already). Truth be told, I'd rather you posted a concept, I'll see what works best for the group, and then work with you to make a character via Skype as soon as possible. Some background would be nice, but I don't expect an essay or anything. Default Golarion world, and the Curse of the Crimson Throne players guide will be handy. You are not required to have an in-depth knowledge of the world (I myself know little of it!).

So yeah, feel free to post here or PM me. I'm looking to get a character as soon as possible, so get your character in, and hopefully you'll be picked :)

Skills:
Climb and Swim: Merged into Athletics, and can also be used as an alternative to Acrobatics for jumping with the exact same rules; you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

Intimidate: Is now Strength-based

These will be the eight Knowledge skills of the game:

Knowledge (arcana): Replicates the functions of Knowledge (arcana) and Spellcraft; you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

Knowledge (business): Replicates the functions of Appraise (with all DCs 5 lower) and is also used for general knowledge on businesses and finances; you have this as a class skill if you have Appraise as a class skill

Knowledge (engineering): Unchanged

Knowledge (local): Replicates the functions of Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (local) on a small scale; you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

Knowledge (nature): Replicates the functions of Knowledge (dungeoneering), Knowledge (geography), and Knowledge (nature); you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

Knowledge (nobility): Unchanged

Knowledge (religion): Replicates the functions of Knowledge (planes) and Knowledge (religion); you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

Knowledge (world): Replicates the functions of Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (local) on a large scale, with DCs 5 higher; you have this as a class skill if you have either component as a class skill

It's late now, but I'll put the info in an Alias tomorrow ^_^

If you've played D&D 3.x or d20 Modern or whatever, it's like the Knowledge, Craft, Profession, and Perform skills. So you could take Culture (North America) or something. Fortes, IIRC, are similar, except they are more specific.

I remember seeing on here once, someone linked to an alternate Fighter class. I believe they referred to it as a "fix." I recall it was stylized after, like, Conan the Barbarian and other great fighters who, as I recalled they said, could jump buildings and stuff. Anyone know it? I tried searching, but it's mostly just noise from forums and nothing helpful.

http://pastebin.com/hPE494dm I can turn it into an alias if I'm chosen. For now, there it is.

Well, this is going to be grittier than I thought :P Certainly devalues our abilities, but should still be fun. I'll post my sheet when it's finished.

Very important question: How are you handling abilities that can be used a number of times per session?

I'm actually liking my Faceman more than my Sleuth, just because it's more the style of character I typically play. Not that I'd be opposed to the Sleuth if someone else wanted to play a Faceman.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"Aha! I routed the vaccum tubes and now I have access to all 2kb of data! Haxr 4 teh win."

I'm thinking of another character now. Just a concept, no stats or anything. A Faceman named Henry "The Mask" Vanterfield (or not, just a placeholder). His father worked for the CIA and raised him to be a spy. But not too long before the events of the campaign, his father is found to have sold CIA secrets to Russia. Disgraced, Henry is allowed to keep employment, but is demoted from an elite operative all the way to a lowly desk job or something as temporary punishment for what his father did (who escaped into hiding).

He finally works his way back into the good graces (albiet with -8 Reputation) of the higher ups, who allow him to perform lower-priority operations. So slowly he works his way back up, until he is assigned to the mission this campaign is featuring. So he now once again at Camp Peary, awaiting His order.

I'm thinking a Sleuth. He can pass for a forensics guy as well, I'm thinking. Keeping what this game is about in mind, he isn't built for a forensics guy (I'd pick scientist for that, probably), but more as a stealth guy with really good senses. He also has decent combat gear as well. By all of this, of course, I mean "I made a Sleuth."

Play by post? I'm game. I need something besides PF in my life and already have the book.

My character is almost finished (just needs equipment, traits, feat). Elven Conjurer with spells picked for boarding ships and such.

Also, are you using traits?

Male Human Wizard/1

Ahoy! What's the tech level like, might I ask? Is it standard fantasy, low tech, steam punk, Spelljammer?

Also, what are the content restrictions?

Something post-apocalyptic...really, just a good PA like Exodus or even GURPS. Something that focuses on scavenging for loot and stuff. I'd probably play a pre-war mutant or some type of merchant character.

An apocalyptic game where you survive and stuff. Like above, but...really anything that is apocalyptic, post- or otherwise. Or a modern game where you are, I dunno, spies. Or anything. Or maybe I'd play, in this type of game, just a regular person. Maybe a cop or a ranger. Or a hacker.

A sci-fi sandbox, please! We could have ships and explore and trade and stuff! A MERCHANT AND EXPLORER. I'd sell star sharts and mineral rights and carry cargo into dsngerous regions :D

A fantasy game with lots of exploring. Low-magic, but lots of otherworldly creatures. And lots of swamps and mountains. And sandbox exploring, I also like monsters. And plant monsters. Something...mysteries, wonderous, that uses non-traditional monsters,so there is something new. Maybe some kingdom budilng later, but mostly explorngi. Wilderlands is a great example. Wilderlands is god! Probably a druid or something. If it made use of wilderness survival rules or somethign, druid would be a nice character. Yeah, I like nature oriented characters. I'd have a cute baby Treant companion ^_^

Something horror would be cool. Fantasy low-magic, modernish. But not the usual ghosts or serial killers. But like demons, ghosts, zombies, and stuff. Ancient horrors, genitic mutants! Maybe a hard sci-fi thing, like dead space but HARDER. Likes of spooky. Not silly frights, but something spooky. I'd like to play someone who just likes adventuring and hunting ghosts for fun. But in space, I'd be a volunteer astronaut, 'cause hot damn I love space and adventure!

Maybe a fantasy game with planar adventuring? I always wanted to adventure on the planes! :D I also like steampunk and stuff snd that is totally awesome. Probably a wizard, or some sort of clockwork android. Maybe both!

Oh, and maybe Legend of Zelds d20, Mario d20, or something else different.

I hope these suggestions help! As you saw, I got really pumped when writing this! I just loooove adventuring (and am much more serious when doing so).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As someone who can actually communicate their desire to play, and as such might be better suited to actually play in a game involving written words, I would be interested in playing. I haven't seen lots of MLP, so I am not sure what kind of character, but I have been looking for something out of the ordinary (and have seen some of MLP, even if this isn't exactly MLP) and wam very interested.

My fighter will be up later. I just need to out his stats on an alias.

I am allowed to have the 900 GP trait, right? Rich Parents, I think. It sounds like I'll want lots of gear, just in case. Also, my people will need food and stuff :)

Maybe I am an outcast of the Tengu tribes and took some people with me to build a new tribe? I could still be the son of the chief, but not want to be ruler, simply helping to fund the construction?

Honestly, I don't want to be a ruler, but it'd be nice to have those 50 BP :p I am not entirely sure what I want to play. Also, are there any 3rd party diplomat classes you'd let me use? I think being the treasurer would be cool.

Can I play a Tengu prince (probabky Bard class) whose father sent him to expand the Tengu Empire in new, unexplored lands? This would give me backing from him (as per the world building rules), and probably a small army to command? I always wanted to build my own kingdom.

Hmm. I'm in. I'll whip up a character tomorrow. Also, I am making a Mythic Adventures character, right?

I'd be interested if I knew when you wanted to run and how.

Male Human Wizard/1

"Then we'll make him fit....and you'll be doing the digging. Is that clear? Now down you go, you little [ineligible word]."

Male Human Wizard/1

"He was right, they're healing potions. But why didn't the Goblins use them? Can anyone cast detect evil, or poison, or curse, or something?"

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius takes the bottle "I know not why you'd want an empty bottle, but it's not my business either." Tamilius casts Detect Magic on the bottle

Male Human Wizard/1

"Trapper, could I see that? I'm a wizard, I can identify it. Maya, you're right. But don't think I thought of leaving her out here. Does Sandpoint have an orphanage?"

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius hears Trapper, though doesn't understand him, and can see the birds flying away from the sound. He looks at Tamilius "I agree, that's why I'm asking Maya over here. We should bury them then camp out for the night, it's the least we can do."looks over at the girl Sad times we're in

Male Human Wizard/1

"There's nothing much we can do. I say we bury the bodies and have Dominque use a Horse to take the girl back to town. But who should tell her? Maya, could you come over here, please?" says Tamilius.

What time of day is it?

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius helps Talberon search 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 "Gozer, I'm going to help Talberon search for her parents. Could you watch her while we're gone?" There should be saying 'Blind as a wizard'

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius pulls out the doll from his pocket "Here, I found this." Tamilius gives it to the girl.

According to me, I have 915 XP.

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius searches the bodies and corn in a 5 foot area around him. 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius swings his Quarterstaff at the closest Dog. 1d20 ⇒ 4

I'm still on my horse, so apply any modifiers from that.

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius picks up the doll and puts it in his pocket "What was that? I recommend that we spilt up. Maya, come with me." Tamilius rides his horse over to where he heard the scream coming from.

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius rides down to there too, but slowly, taking in the view of the area.

Male Human Wizard/1

Tamilius looks at Belethor "Belethor, my great grandso, I mean great grandFATHER once ask, I mean I asked him the same thing and I, I mean HE said 'So long as logic dictates it, we must protect them many at the sacrifice of the few'. He was a wise man, and I stand by m, I mean HIS words."

I did not receive my January or February Pathfinder and Starfinder Society scenarios. When you get the chance could that get fixed.

Thanks

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, Rulebook Subscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

1) I haven't received my January Pathfinder or Starfinder Society modules.
2) Order #8345805 looks zeroed out, from my email it was me adding the Pathfinder Pawns subscription to my account starting with the Bestiary Pawns, I have another email saying it was moved to Order #12408275
3) When I look at Order #12408275 it doesn't have the Bestiary Pawns in it, and is listed as pending still (did list something was backordered but doesn't have that note today)

Thank you for your time.

Pathfinder2e: I am a 4th level wizard with expert crafting and the magical crafting feat.

I want to create a Hat of the Magi(item level 3). I buy formula 3gp.

I finish a scenario and get 8 downtime days. I spend 4 days and 25gp, succeed on my level 3 (DC 18) crafting check. I work the other 4 days at .8gp towards the item. I end up 28.2/50gp done.

Question: when I finish the next scenario and get 8 more downtime days do I?
1) work 8 days at .8gp towards the item and finish at 34.6/50gp done
2) make level 4 (DC 19) crafting check and get .1gp on failure, .8gp on success, 1gp on crit per day towards the item
3) spend 4 days getting ready, and do answer 1 or 2 for the remaining 4 days

I believe I should qualify for the free scenarios for PFS and SFS based on my other subscriptions. I have not received the October scenarios.
