Not a question, not a rant, just objective reality...

Being able to cast Gentle Repose would fit the "Prevents rising as an undead" part.

Oh yes, thanks!

What is it about the Sin Eater that you like?

Besides the theme and concept. The eat sin ability it's the most difficult thing to replicate, I guess. So, that's the reason I asked. Maybe someone would have a build that can be playable, and I admite not being the best person at building the character....

Really hard to replicate I think.

For a solution that I think has a close feel to how a 2E Inquisitor would play, I would look to the Thaumaturge. I think a thaumaturge, especially with a oracle/cleric dedication, would get you incredibly close to the right feel.

Yes, I was thinking something like that. At first I tried the investigator with cleric dedication. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel it (because the action economy). Thanks.

Flavor and concept of the class being...

From the general description and class stats that I am looking at, it seems that it is a mix of Rogue and Cleric. Light martial with 6-level divine spellcasting and a lot of religion flavor.

I would probably go with a Rogue base class with Cleric archetype. You could probably also use Champion archetype or even some of the other spellcasting archetypes that aren't multiclass archetypes (like Captivator or Cathartic Mage). That would give you the good number of skills, the light martial combat style, the opportunistic debuffing fighting style, and the 6-level spellcasting that I am seeing in the Inquisitor.

But there are plenty of other options too.

Swashbuckler with Oracle archetype would be fascinating. But probably not the most simple or most optimized.

Ranger with Cleric archetype would likely work quite well.

For a more spellcasting focused build, Warpriest Cleric with Rogue archetype.

I could even see a dex-based Champion with Investigator matching the flavor quite well. Though again that doesn't seem like it synergizes into a mechanically sound character very well.

Thanks, I will try them.

Can you normally craft custom weapons, or add traits to existing ones?
No, not generally. There are a few specific options that can enable it for very narrow purposes but that's it.

Sucks...

I should be able to craft/enhance weapons with additional traits, or least give the Inventor such a feature.

If you're interested in custom weapons the monster parts system from Battlezoo Bestiary is quite cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the Sin-Eater is a 1e inquisitor archetype, and not a cleric one.

I humble ask for advice in how to build this first edition inquisitor archetype with 2e rules.

I'm not necessarily trying to reproduce the archetype %100 accurate, but more interested in the flavor and concept of the class. Thanks.

The PF2e conversion guide states that you can make something close to the first edition inquisitor with a warpriest cleric with the rogue archetype, or a liberator champion with the rogue archetype, but I'm trying a new approach to it: With the release of the APG, I tryied to make an inquisitor, focusing in the core concept of the class and not so much on the system aspects. I choosed criminal as background (since my character was a smuggler and thief before joining Sarenrae's faith), and choosed the investigator class. In the 1st level, he's still a novice on the Dawnflower's Church, he has to prove himself worthy of his deity's spells and recognition, and his religious order's aproval. That's the point of adventuring in the first level. When he reach the second level, I'm going to choose cleric dedication as a multiclass feat, and student of the canon as a skill feat, so now he's relatively good at church's rituals and traditions, and also he can cast some low level spells granted by his goddess.
He's still an investigator at his core, something like a "religious detective". Not the best at fighting or casting spells, but still can handle himself good on most situations.
