Sin Eater build

Advice

I humble ask for advice in how to build this first edition inquisitor archetype with 2e rules.

I'm not necessarily trying to reproduce the archetype %100 accurate, but more interested in the flavor and concept of the class. Thanks.

Flavor and concept of the class being...

From the general description and class stats that I am looking at, it seems that it is a mix of Rogue and Cleric. Light martial with 6-level divine spellcasting and a lot of religion flavor.

I would probably go with a Rogue base class with Cleric archetype. You could probably also use Champion archetype or even some of the other spellcasting archetypes that aren't multiclass archetypes (like Captivator or Cathartic Mage). That would give you the good number of skills, the light martial combat style, the opportunistic debuffing fighting style, and the 6-level spellcasting that I am seeing in the Inquisitor.

But there are plenty of other options too.

Swashbuckler with Oracle archetype would be fascinating. But probably not the most simple or most optimized.

Ranger with Cleric archetype would likely work quite well.

For a more spellcasting focused build, Warpriest Cleric with Rogue archetype.

I could even see a dex-based Champion with Investigator matching the flavor quite well. Though again that doesn't seem like it synergizes into a mechanically sound character very well.

Thanks, I will try them.

Really hard to replicate I think.

For a solution that I think has a close feel to how a 2E Inquisitor would play, I would look to the Thaumaturge. I think a thaumaturge, especially with a oracle/cleric dedication, would get you incredibly close to the right feel.

What is it about the Sin Eater that you like?

Yes, I was thinking something like that. At first I tried the investigator with cleric dedication. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel it (because the action economy). Thanks.

Besides the theme and concept. The eat sin ability it's the most difficult thing to replicate, I guess. So, that's the reason I asked. Maybe someone would have a build that can be playable, and I admite not being the best person at building the character....

Beyond the visuals, the ability sounds like Lay on Hands. Blessed One archetype could be enough.

Have to check the PF2 abilities that prevent rising as an undead.

Being able to cast Gentle Repose would fit the "Prevents rising as an undead" part.
