Taket's nostrils flared. He smelled tech. The shamen of his people were right. The false men, the ro-bots had dared to come here and needed to be put down. Taket was originally built as a core character for this AP. I shall refine him only slightly, adding an archtype for this game. I hope you like him.
Helikon wrote: Hi Taket and welcome. Only thing I noticed is that you can´t have archetypes. And to answer your question, yes iron gods campaign traits are allowed and one mandatory Ah, right. I knew that. I don't believe the archetype does anything at first level anyway but I'll remove it. For my campaign trait I went with Robot Slayer. It sorta fits well with the quest he is on from his tribe's shamen.
Here is Taket, a Shoanti barbarian out to earn honor for himself and his tribe. He knows that those in the city practice forbidden arcane magics and need to be punished. And he is sent from the shamen of his tribe to assist in some great deed that must be done to tame the sky men of metal. I think he is completely core. If we can use campaign traits I may go back and switch out a trait. No bid deal either way. Background type info is in his alias. I plan to go Superstitious branch with him, including the ability to sunder spells. Please let me know what you think.

Since I am a late-comer to all this can someone fill me in on the imminent threat to the town? I was under the impression that the giants were planning to overrun Sandpoint and not just smaller villages around the town. What do we know?

Excellent. I would put them to work on the defenses of the town as soon as they are settled. If anyone needs me I shall be at the Rusty Dragon until called for. Now can someone point me in the right direction? I've a mighty thirst upon me.

Giants are attacking outlying villages and you have time for such? the barbarian chastises mildly. I am Takek and I travel with Heros of Sandpoint. We have defeated a hoste of giants and a dragon on your behalf. We bring you survivors and refugees that must be cared for while we decide how best to save your city if and when the giants return.

Always the direct type Taket yells Someone is escaping from the jail. I shall apprehend them! He runs to intercept the "culprit" climbing from the window unless called back by the sheriff.

Tell the mayor, is she wishes to speak with me, that I will be found at the Rusty Dragon after I update the sheriff, should he be in. If half the things I have heard of that inn are true I may just move in.

Taket, a creature of the outdoors and of these plains specifically seems at home in the cold rain. He manages to help those around him to avoid the worst of the weather as well. Survival to stay warm and dry: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

Bah. Taket is BIG! :P A pick is a one handed weapon and iirc a large one handed weapon can be used by a medium creature in two hands with a -2 penalty. Right? I do not really want to use said pick and would not mind you insisting it be destroyed. Dwarves as a race are good, which in my book makes a dwarf-bane weapon evil.

Taket. claims the barbarian as he looks up from his skinning of the dragon. This is thirsty work. That tavern sounds mighty good about now. Not sure I have ever heard of a ring of teleportation but paint me interested. :) And Taket would certainly pretend to be interested in the +1 Dwarf Bane Heavy Pick just to bug Skarn for a moment. :P

My people were right to send me here. Our shamen foresaw the giant threat and sent me here to try to help. I almost arrived too late. Bending over the dead dragon Taket continues to search it. I hp[e this wyrm carries some trinkets that will help our cause.

Yea, I am here. Need to work on getting to know the rest of you IC. We need to incorporate the new folks into the party. Nothing like needing to kill giants to bring a group together. :)

Taket is pleasantly surprised by Garrosh's healing. My thanks. he says, still breathing hard from the fight. I did not expect healing from a barbarian looking fellow like yourself. Taket will examine the dragon's body wondering if it has brought any of its hoard with it. We need to find this thing's nest once the town is secure. I hope there is a large pile of unguarded treasure there.

Dropping from rage the barbarian looks fatigued for a moment. He is somewhat burned as well. Is there enough healing to go around? That lizard spit on me before I could smash it proper.

As Taket's hammer takes the life of the dragon blood and brains fly in all directions causing quite a demoralizing sight. Intimidate on those three giants: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34

So you carry the head. :) Intimidate is a sideline for Taket. He only does it when he drops a creature as a free action. Seemed like a cool thing to do for free - intimidate all enemies in a 30' radius. I could take a feat to add my strength modifier to the roll which would bump it to a 24 when raging. So many good feats to choose from though.

Taket manages to dodge the worst of it but is bathed in flame and wonders how his new companions seem to be unfazed by the breath. []b]Hey! Why do you not suffer from this breath?[/b] he asks. Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 [ooc]Taket takes half -2, or 17 from the breath before he moves in to try to take the dragon down. Taket calls out again at the defeat of the giant leader, bellowing his rage and victory, but alas there are no enemies close enough to demoralize. He his new companions. Well fought. he offers. But there are still rampaging giants to be rounded up. Shall we? If the other giants are too far away to reach in a round or two he lets his rage drop as he begins to work out a plan with this new group on how to take out the giants.

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1 Totally clueless about who this giant might be Taker rages at the audacity of the attack he just witnessed. What type of cowardly giant sneaks up and attacks people from invisibility?!? He says in Giant as he steps adjacent to the giant and into a flank if possible and and opens up on him. Furious Vicious Adamantine Earth Breaker power attack: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 284d6 + 25 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 5) + 25 = 43 +2 more to hit if flanking Furious Vicious Adamantine Earth Breaker power attack: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 274d6 + 25 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 4) + 25 = 43 +2 more to hit if flanking Furious Vicious Adamantine Earth Breaker power attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 234d6 + 25 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 4) + 25 = 41 +2 more to hit if flanking

Taket, still raging and heedless of any plan, charges the closed giant. Power Attack Furious Focus Vital Strike: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 314d6 + 25 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 6) + 25 + (2, 4) = 55 Vicious damage to Taket: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Edit - four sixes? That was nice!

Taket has some minor fire resistance and takes 2 less from the breath. He also has a feat called Dreadful Carnage - If you reduce an enemy to 0 or fewer HP, you can make an intimidate check to demoralize
As the giant falls to the ground Taket bellows in rage. Intimidate: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 Intimidate to Demoralize: You can use this skill to cause opponents to become shaken for a number of rounds. This shaken condition doesn’t stack with other shaken conditions to make an affected creature frightened. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice + the target’s Wisdom modifier. Success: If you are successful, the target is shaken for one round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition. Fail: The opponent is not shaken.

I hope its ok that I post. I assume I am around somewhere too. A tall "tribal" man with braids and tattoos rounds a corner and moves to attack a stone giant. His armor gleams is if polished fine silver as he moves. He seems to loose his temper as he closes with the creature and swings a large grey metal hammer at it. Power Attack Furious Focus Vital Strike: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 404d6 + 25 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 5) + 25 + (3, 3) = 49 Vicious damage to Taket: 1d6 ⇒ 1 |
