Take care.

Sybille and Sigmund

It is not long before Hogar and Enrietta arrive. In fact, they emerge from the forest, apparently having taken to scouting out the area by alone. They approach with a brisk step "Good evening" they say "Are you ready for the coming night? The huntsman are already moving out to kick up game but we should check the plague stilts before too long."

"Yes, let's get there and do what we came here to do." Sybille hangs her hip lantern back on the belt and takes out her pistol and hammer. "I see you came here earlier. Found anything interesting?"

Inactive

Sybille checks her pistol and furnace hammer one more time and impatiently looks around. She will wait for Hogar and Enrietta to come before entering the woods.

She turns to Sigmund. "How many beasts do you think are hiding in those woods? I wonder how many good men we will lose tonight."

Inactive

Sybille does not attend, and heads straight to the woods.

Inactive

"Thank you. We were also planning to take a walk in the woods and four is better then two. Especially with what has been going on in the last weeks." Sybille sighs. "Let's hope there won't be too many troubles this night."

Inactive

While Dominic and Morgam are arguing, Sybille nods to Sigmund and stakes their claim to the wooden area.
"I don't believe we've met. I'm Sybille, this is Sigmund. Are you planning to hunt near the Byrgenwerth?"

Inactive

Sybille shakes her head. "They are big boys, they can handle it. Let's stake our own claim." She pushes inside the room to have a better look at whoever is claiming the woods.

Inactive

Sybille nods and grins. "I've been thinking of asking someone to keep me company in Byrgenwerth woods. I quite like it there, although I doubt we'll have time to enjoy the scenery."

Inactive

What can possibly go wrong, right?

Inactive

Anyone wants to go to Byrgenwerth with Sybille?

Inactive

Sybille stands silently, leaning against the wall and waiting for the teams to be assigned.

Inactive

Sybille was strolling around the Central Yharnam, enjoying the view and free time, when she heard the bells ringing. "So it's time?" She returns to her house and gets everything checked and ready - especially her furnace hammer.
She puts on her hunter's garb and sets out to the workshop.

Inactive

I think Sybille lives somewhere in the Central Yharnam, either in a house of her parents, or together with her master Ernhart. Or maybe both.

Inactive

I'm good.

Inactive

"He's blonde and has a black tattoo on his face and down his neck. Probably goes down further."

Inactive

"Yes, he was one of them. Some were infected by the beast and turned, so we had to kill them. Most were fine. He managed to run away, so I'm not exactly sure about his condition, but I'm told he can lift a man with one hand and turn him into a beast."

The door swings open and Sybille is struck by the full sight of the man. He wears long grey woolen robes which would be unassuming normally were it not for his stature. Standing at near 7ft tall he absolutely towers, stooped over in what now seems like a terribly cramped space. Around him books, papers, and equipment are stacked high in random piles all around save for a few well traveled lanes.

"Well? What of it then? Be quick please I'm very busy."

"I'm not sure whether you heard yet or not, but me and some other Hunters met a strange refugee, who could transform. He doesn't seem like a usual kind of Beast. We also delved into underground ruins, and encountered several strange thing. Diaries, a preserved human heart, a suit of armor and a clock with an old symbol of Fall. We're trying to piece things together, and maybe we can help each other?"

Inactive

"Sybille, with the workshop. I heard you are interested in the refugees. If that is true, then we should talk."

Finding Archibald will takes navigating the Cathedral Ward. He is not difficult to find, all you need do is follow the trail of individuals telling you to avoid the eccentric. The trail leads you to a small apartment nestled beneath a staircase on the south side of the ward.

Sybille knocks. "Master Archibald? Are you home?"

Inactive

Sybille looks for Archibald to have a conversation. If she can't, she arranges a meeting for a later date.

Inactive

Sybille starts to ask around the workshop, the Church, and streets in general whether anyone knows about where refugees gather, and if anyone saw a tattooed one recently.

Not sure which skill is useful, I'll just roll all of them, pick which one you need.
Gather Information: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Kn. (Local): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Lore (Yharnam): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Profession (Hunter): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Inactive

Sybille will help Morgam with tracking - perhaps also asking other hunters if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

Inactive

"Very funny." Sybille glances at Crox and focuses on scholars.
"Not what you would expect. We've dealt with everything we found, but you better take some hunters with you just in case."

Sybille gives the scholars a short report on what they've encountered. "If you don't mind, I'd like to have some rest now."

Inactive

See it now.

Inactive

Not sure about that. Season/time it can be activated/most effective? Or something more indirect, like "in time of need"?

Inactive

Well, the place looks like a workshop. So, an experiment conducted by old hunters?

Inactive

I like it too. Will we know in the future about this armor suit and jar?

Inactive

The forum seems to be back online, that's good. Let's hope there won't be any more mishaps.

Inactive

"So, something's supposed to happen in late summer or fall?" Sybille glances at the clock. "Strange."

Inactive

Yeah, there are tons of system I'd like to try out too, but there aren't any GMs around. The only thing left is to try and GM one of those myself, I guess. Maybe someday I'll gather my willpower and try it. And to choose something I really like, as the previous attempt in GMing one of PF modules didn't go so well.

As for PbP options - Myth-Weavers is great, it has all the tools you need for PbP (private messages in the thread, specialty dice like FFG or Fate, threads groups, lots of formatting options, etc).

Inactive

"Does anyone know what is this thing? It gives me shivers. We should just get out of here and report to the workshop."

Inactive

And it went offline shortly after my post. Paizo, what the hell?

Pathfinder is somewhat bloaty, but it's nice enough. It doesn't have some cool options 3.5 had, but it has its own advantages. Especially if you use Spheres of Power instead of vancian casting. Speaking of which, I'm so disappointed they didn't do anything with it in PF 2e. Come on, at least bring it to the level of DnD 5e, which is much better. Never understood this "cast a spell - forget it" prepared casters' mechanic. Spheres of Might and Power - one of the best things happened to PF.

Anyway, I hope they'll fix their site problems. I still have two games to finish playing here, before moving on another forum for good.

Inactive

Finally, the boards are online. It's even worse than usual. Just how old is their software and servers?

Inactive

Before suggesting to return back to the workshop, Sybille dusts off the floor and looks through the floor. "And what is that?"

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Inactive

Sybille walks over to the suit of armor to check if it has anyone inside. She avoid the soupy liquid as much as possible.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

Inactive

Sybille stares suspiciously at the jar and scoffs. "Nothing good. Do we won't to open it? And if we do, do we want to do it here?"

Inactive

"Yeah, I don't like it here. Let's investigate it quickly and get out of here." Sybile nods and kicks some broken shelves and jars.

Inactive

Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Inactive

"Everyone, careful! The shelves!" Sybille cries out and steps away from the shelves.

Inactive

Sybille follows Grim, with her pistol ready. "After what we saw in the workshop, it's probably nothing good."

Inactive

Sybile grins and follows everyone to the door. "As would I. Must be quite a story."

Inactive

"Well, nothing to do here. Now to the stairs I guess. I wonder what's down there?"

Sybille leaves the room and takes a look before stepping down.

Inactive

I won't be able to post in the next few day, most probably until the 29th (I have thesis defense soon). Feel free to bot me.

Inactive

We can bring back some bits and pieces that are less damaged. Probably. Maybe.

Sybille nods and checks the door for traps before opening it. The usual.

Preception take 10: 10 + 12 = 22

Inactive

"We still have the stairs and the door." Sybille points out to the alcove and the last door. "We should check them first. I say we check the door first."

Inactive

"Nothing useful here." Sybille shrugs. "And as there's no other exit, we don't have any choice."

Inactive

Sybille joins Dominic and rummages through the papers and books.

Inactive

"Shit!"

Sybille swiftly follows Dominic into the room, brushing the flying gears off.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Inactive

Sybille whips out her hammer and makes a wide swing at the floating gears. "That's ridiculous!"

Hammer atk: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Dmg: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Inactive

Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

"What the hell is that?!"
