I am open to suggestions on how to proceed. I haven't heard anything from the GM. Do we want to call it quits, wait it out, look for a new gm, something else?

I don't want to rush you or anything, but when do you think would be a good time to start up again? I think most of us understand if somebody needs to take some time away from the game. Just looking for a little communication on the timeline. Would the 20th be good? sooner? later?

Sverlisk will call out to Happ's If we take Oleg and his whore wife, they will have to let us go. Get in here and help me. then more quietly and directed towards Oleg. So sorry for the theatrics

would you like a diplo check or bluff check to try to convince Happs to come into the building and take Oleg hostage.

Happs follows Sverlisk into the building:
Sverlisk will be "drunkenly" standing between Oleg and the door. Once Happs is inside Sverlisk will say Bar the door and lets take them hostage. They'll give me the noose for associating with you, and I plan on walking out of here alive.

Happs does not follow Sverlisk into the building:
Sverlisk will wait a moment before giving up on his ruse. He will then turn to Oleg and say Stay in here and keep your wife safe, bar the door behind me, you can use my longspear if you need to.

He will wait long enough to take up the entire round of combat before giving up on his ruse

btw what is you rule fore what kind of action opening/closing doors is.

Is the act of opening a door a move action or can i move 30 feet and close a door all as a move action.

Barrister I would love to do that if you would allow it. Just seemed to me like that was getting pretty close to 3 move actions.

Sverlisk, ever devoted to his ruse and not ready to throw himself into a fight with only a dagger, will act surprised as well. bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Oleg you basssshtard ill be having your head for ruining my buisssnesh proposhal. He will angrily stumble into to store room to grab his sword and shield.

Once in the main building he will whisper to Oleg if the leader follows me in we take him one on either side. Svetlana best hide.

so that is a move action to get to my gear, and a move action probably to pick up sword and shield, though the shield would not be equipped yet

Sorry for the length of this post, but a back and forth dialogue between Sverlisk and bandits could take a while. I'll hide subsequent portions of the conversations in spoilers so-as to not just leave a wall of text.

HAHA Well met!!! Come come we mussssst drink. I am Essssskr, a humble merchant looking to ssssstart a semi-monthly caravan through thessssse partssssss. If I am not missssssstaken, I have a businesssssss propossssssal for you. Oleg bring ssssome mead for thesssssse men!!!

If the bandits act suspicious of the mead Sverlisk will take a drink from one of their mugs as though to demonstrate that it is not poisoned. He will also periodically invite one or 2 of the other bandits over for drinks if they do not all join him at the large wooden table

business proposal:
You sssssee I have a monthly cargo of wool that I would like to bring through thessssse parts. And I would like to make ssssssure that I am paying my import dutiessss on time ssssso you don't have to confissscate my waressssss. Sverlisk looks around then yells for Oleg to bring more mead. Oleg more drink for me and my guesssstssss. We arent yet in a proper sssstate to reach an accord. He then turns back to Happs and his bandits. Now this cargo issss very valuable stuff. Fine wool from Brevoy, and it issss in high demand in Issssarn. I would like to be able to use the eassst Sssselen River to move thessssse goodssss. I believe this is where you fine fellows come in He raises his mug in a toast and downs his drink hoping the bandits will do the same, he then calls for another round. With Ssssuch a valuable cargo I can afford to pay you quite handsssssomely to allow me to passsss through your territory unmolessssted. Now my intention isssss to pay you a sssssum of around 300g per ton of wool a move through thesssssssse partssssss. I can have my men dock along the river wherever you dessssire to have each cargo asssssessssssed.

fake business model:

The Model that Sverlisk has worked up for his ploy is based on a merchant wanting to transport 2000 lbs of wool the approximately 500 miles by riven from New Stetven to Isarn using a 30x10ft keelboat. If he bought the wool at 5.5g/lb from the farm and sold it at 6g/lb in Isarn, then he would have 1000g to cover the transportation costs + profit. The 300g figure comes from the cost of hiring 10 guards for 60 days to escort his caravan round trip. He will negotiate up to 600g per ton, although if push comes to shove he will point out that if he can't make any profit going along the East Sellen River, then he will find a different route.

more drinking and bartering:

If an accord is met then Sverlisk will insist on yet another drink.
Come my friendsssss we must have a toassssst to ssscelebrate the momentous occasssssion. Oleg more mead.[b/] when the mead arrives he will raise his mug and say [b] To profit in the Greenbelt for one and all. after the toast Sverlisk will stand up and say All this drink has gone sssstraight through me. If you excussse me I mussst relieve sssome built up pressssure. He will stumble into the main building and if not followed or stopped go straight to his combat gear to grab his weaponry (should take a total of 18-24 seconds) once he has his equipment he willstart to bellow out at the top of his lungs OOOOOOOH a horse is a horse of course of course. And nobody can talk to a horse of course unless the are a druid!!!!!!

Sverlisk will hide between A4 and A6-A11 between some barrels. When the Bandits arrive he will attempt to discern the leaded and cast charm person on him as discretely. He will instruct Oleg to make sure he is doing something somewhat noisy when the bandits arrive. After he has cast his spell he will stumble "drunkenly" through the barrels he is hiding behind to greet the bandits.

Sverlisk will make sure he looks as non threatening as possible when he comes out from hiding with a mug of watered down mead. He will have on his armor with his dagger sheathed in plain sight. His wand will be hidden on his person. The rest of his combat gear will be hidden in one of the store rooms (A7-A11).

Perhaps the little one should stay out of sight with Svetlana....no no Yolann always said his dear brother was too soft to have any meaningful position. It's time to toughen the boy up.

Reuben you will be In charge of shutting the gate. Perhaps you can put that brain of yours to good use and devise a method of closing the gait in an expeditious fashion when the time is appointed. After that, we will be needing you to provide fire support with Master Vorrs.

yes that will do, break the young lad into this whole danger thing.

sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Come now surely you have more than what you let on. I know that it may very well pain you to serve these thieves, but just remember that with every drink they journey closer to their own demise. As far as where we hide, I would prefer Svetlana stay herself from harms way. we also may need a couple people to hide in a position where they an close the gates lest the bandits attempt an escape.

The signal shall be when I start singing "A horse is a horse"

With things settled Sverlisk will spend the rest of the day working on pretending to be drunk and seeming like a jovial merchant.

Oleg make sure that whatever you bring me is watered down. We want to get the bandits drunk and easy to kill, not me.

Sverlisk nods solemnly contemplating the situation, then a smile starts to creep onto his face. It sounds like this lot are nothing more than common thugs that have deigned to banditry at your expense. But fret not my fair and gentle Svetlana, for I believe I have devised a most satisfactory solution to your problem that shall promulgate the demise of these rapscallions.

Sverlisk smiles at Cainbar and Reuben as he returns to his former ways as a renowned wordsmith.

Tell me Oleg just how much alcohol do you keep on hand here? For I plan on getting hissing drunk with the bandits tomorrow. I shall entice their leader and hopefully a few of them into drink. Passing as a travelling merchant hoping to stave off any assessment from these knaves. Once I have thoroughly inveigled the brigand principle, I will set my self to the task of getting him suitably inebriated to the point of being off his face. I shall at this point signal my compatriots to come out of hiding, bar the gates to prevent any escape, and then we shall have ourselves some good ole fashioned justice. I pledge to you good stalwart Oleg that you shall have new adornments for your walls tomorrow. I only humbly beseech thee to allow me and my friends one prisoner for whom we may interrogate to gain more information on the bandit activity in the area.

Sverlisk then flicks his tail as though to "spin" it as he winks at Cainbar in a smug sort of way.

Sverlisk then looks around the table Is this plan agreeable to all?

If he gets the approval he seeks, Sverlisk will raise his mug and say
It is settled tomorrow I shall get snockered with these scum. To the end of banditry in the Greenbelt!

Sverlisk gracefully bows to both Svetlana and Oleg
Lady Svetlana, Lord Oleg, It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. We are honored by your hospitality. I am known as Esskr, the dwarf is Cainbar, and your 3 kinfolk here are Vorrs, Ricean, and the wee lad is Reuben

Spoiler:
bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 not sure if you want me to make a bluff check to use an assumed identity

He gestures to each individual as he makes introductions. Sverlisk follows her to the dining room and sits down, making sure not to set himself at the head of the table.

We had heard of bandit troubles in this area. Please tell us more about these bandits you speak of. We must make sure we have as much information as possible before we go making half baked plans. What is it that they are after, how often do you encounter them, where, and how many of them are there.

Sverlisk retrieves his ink, inkpen, and a piece of parchment to take notes on while he inquires about the bandits.

Sverlisk grins at Cainbar
aha she's just the way you like them Cainbar. It would be rude not to introduce yourself after such an encounter.

Turning to Vorrs

I believe that it will be a simple matter of meeting down here at dawn for a good breakfast, and then starting our journey into the Stolen Lands. Before I retire though i fear it may be some time before we find ourselves in such diverse company again. Perhaps a song to celebrate the young lad's deeds.

Sverlisk stands up and bursts into song
sing: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Reuben was a fine young lad, But the warmth of a woman he never had He spilled his mead, and soaked his tweed
now this song is here for all to jeer
we all join together to commemorate the fact that the mead didn't make him urinate. And that's called being a MAN!

Sverlissk raises his cup to his lips. His time as a street performer had mad him used to such comments, though it did catch him somewhat by surprise. He flicks his long forked tongue into the air and lets out a slight chuckle and smile at the young lad.

Ahh so the young Garess wishes to make it a game of wits does he?

We shall make sport of this my young friend. We shall each sing 3 verses about the other, and our little party here shall vote on who is the most deserving of the company of a fine young craftswoman tonight. Do you accept my challenge? or shall I be forced to spend my last night in society alone?

Yeah I am pretty familiar with kingdom making rules and mechanics as those are a pretty important part of a homebrew adventure I am writing. It makes sense though that if we will be making maps, I have the skill to do so. I don't think Sverlisk would do anything haphazardly if he could help it.

I'll give Dalgar a few more days to get a new thread opened for his game, if he still decides to run it. Then I will set this thread to inactive so it doesn't keep cluttering the forum.

Sverlissk waits for Reuben to take a drink of his mead. As the cup reaches his lips, He claps the boy on the back causing some of the mead to spill over his face and the front of his garb. He then makes a hissing sound that could very easily be misinterpreted as threatening by somebody not familiar with nagaji.

hssssssss, hssssssss, hssssssss Look who finally decided to take his diaper off Cainbar!!!!! Don't stop till you've drained your mug boy. When you finish that you might just be well on your way to becoming a man.

He then signals one of the servers to bring another round for Vorrs and Reuben

The hissing is in fact hearty laughter.

Sverlissk turns to Vorrs and says in a more serious tone, but still somewhat jovially.

Ah yes maps. I will do more than teach you read them. By the time we are done with this little endeavor, you will know how to make them. We'll be making our own maps of the Stolen Lands.

I guess I should have asked, but based on the blank hex map in the Player's Guide and general knowledge of this campaign, I assumed that map making would be at least a small part of what we are commissioned to do.

when the 2 new drinks arrive Sverlissk happily hands the server a silver piece for the drinks and a few copper for his service.

I am sorry you feel that way, but we were told to make a decision. I assure you that based on what I have read from the campaigns Dalgar is involved with he is a quite capable GM, and if you guys get your group together I am confident he will provide you with an enjoyable atmosphere.

darn I should have read Reuben's backstory a little better, I thought he was going with the illegitimate half brother route.

I would recommend one of you take initiative and form your group up. It would be a shame to let a willing GM go to waste. Good luck on your campaign.

Sverlisk takes Reuben off to the side. Remember young master Garess, until we know we can trust these newcomers, you are not a member of the House Garess. Such a scandal would surely bring great dishonor to your father. And until my name is cleared, I am Essskr Lisstr. Go now and do as Cainbar says quickly, and then bring us a 3 ales, a mead for Cainbar, and some meat for all 5 of us. He hands the young lad a gold and 8 silver pieces.
Sverlisk returns to his dwarven comrade and the two humans and bows graciously as though he were back in court greeting noble dignitaries. I am called Essskr Lisstr. I am honored to make your acquaintance. It is with the greatest respect that we accept such highly reputed individuals as yourselves into our humble troupe. Sir Cainbar here hails from the Golushkin Mountains, and is a warrior of repute and honor. I am sadly a mere mapmaker, diplomat, and general jack of all trades. The young Mister Reuben is Cainbar’s loyal Paige and my devoted student. Come let us share drink and feast together before we set off on our mission in the morning.
Let us pray those marauders left us a trail to follow.

Sverlisk has spent a sizable amount of gold on clw consumables and has clw.

GM Barrister: I am still scrambling to finalize my character. I will be switching my starting feat, and moving some skills around to fit my backstory a little better. I also will adjust which weapons I carry, but it will all be done tonight. I am assuming that you are ok with wands that have 5+ charges for starting inventory items.

Male Nagaji Bard 1 HP 14 AC 18 (touch 12, flat footed 16) Fort:2 Ref:4 Will:3 (+2 vs mind effects & poison BAB:0 CMB:3 CMD:15 spells:At Will-Detect Magic, Mage Hand, Read Magic, Resistance 1st level(2) - Charm Person(dc13), Cure Light Wounds bardic performance: 6 sense motive:0 Perception:2 Init:2 Active Conditions:None

That would be great Barrister.

no stigly, that was me posting under wrong alias.

We may be splitting the group.

I may make slight tweak to Sverlisk once the group is formed but before we get rolling.. Nothing will be ground breaking and I'll make a detailed post of what changes I make. Class and race will remain the same. Backstory may be tweaked to encompass others who wish to fit into the bit of intrigue that is in there. Again thanks for GMing for us. You the real MVP.

Hello; I'm the interested GM that was messaging Vorrs earlier about this.

I count six different people here, is that correct? Aliases and whatnots...

So, let me get something going. I'll look over the character submissions here, make sure there isn't anything I would care to have you change, and we can get started. I don't think there will be much of a problem running it with six, but I can always throw something extra into the mix if necessary.

That is, unless @Dalgar the Great would still like to run it as well. In that case, since there are two groups with two floaters, we could look at splitting into two campaigns and rounding out the groups.

You are correct. If Dalgar the Great wishes to run a campaign as well, I see no issues with splitting the groups. Glad to have you onboard. Let me know if there is anything I can do to make things easier for you.

OK, I recommend picking up a campaign trait as well.

That is a good place to look them up if you need to.

Raven and Johan, welcome to the thread. Are you currently posting as the characters that you would like to play, or will you be making different ones?

My friend and I would really like to play in a campaign together, which as of yet we have been unable to do since one of us is always GM. We are hoping a kind GM type person would be willing to run the Kingmaker AP for us. I don't believe picking up 2 or 3 additional people will be a problem as this is a fairly high demand campaign. We have already created characters which we feel would be enjoyable both for ourselves and a prospective GM. We are certainly willing to adjust our characters to fit whatever creation guidelines a GM might have.

I believe that we have quite strong back stories, and a GM could potentially have quite a bit of fun incorporating them into the story line. If you are interested in GMing for us please post in here and/or PM myself or lunkhead. If you are interested in rolling along side us then post your character in this thread as well.
