That's good to hear about KM anyway. Sorry again, mate. Life got in the way...
Hope there is no hard feelings!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone that I was DMing in a couple PbP's and to those I was gaming with. I had a LOT of major life issues come into play in the last few months which unfortunately took precedence of virtually ALL of my time. I had to drop out of everything for a while, including my love (role-playing)!
I just felt like I owed an apology to all the great people I met here on the boards. I'm sorry I took off with no notice, and I hope that you guys can forgive this curmudgeon's gaffe. Thanks guys, and happy gaming! I'll be lurking on the boards again pretty frequently, and I won't take on any more commitments than I can handle.
Peace, guys, and I hope to hear from everyone I used to game with on here.
Sully (DM Sully)
I'm still around! I only meant that my posts slowed down right during the climax and you guys kicked some tail even without little old me posting. I'm certainly still around!
Doing a fantastic job, Berwick! My apologies for the slowdown in posting towards the end. Life got the better of me between all I had going on, but fortunately you all won the day with little to no involvement from The Lucky Drunk! Huzzah and all that!
Just in case there is any interest in hearing my band that's sucked up so much of my time, we've got our demo up where you can listen to it:
Yeah, you guys are all a great group! I'm glad to game with and chat with you all.
Also, just in case there is any interest in hearing my band that's sucked up so much of my time, we've got our demo up where you can listen to it:
Best of luck, mate! I'm sure all will go well.
Oh, I'll be lurking this one for sure...
Good luck, mate! Looks like mine will be picking up again, too.
Gregor Trevian wrote: It's not quite two Berwick, but certainly close enough to be mistaken as such.
Naz, I realize my posting has been infrequent at best, I will try to do better. If I do not, feel free to replace me, the group as a whole is too good to have a character posting as infrequently as I have been.
That's exactly where I'm coming from, but I don't see an end to my infrequent posting in sight. At least not if I want my other games to be moving along nicely.
I'll flesh him out as best I can for you soon, and you are welcome to run with him! I know right off the bat I was going to give him a greataxe and a longbow. Seemed suitably outdoorsy to me!

Oh, and I need e-mail addresses from Sully and Talomyr so you can have access to the campaign website.
Sully's Uber-Secret Email:
I had an issue come up at work and have to run back in to the office, so it doesn't look like we'll have a paladin tonight. I will get him up ASAP though, promise!
Paladin on the way. Like I said, I'll try to get at least barebones up tonight if not totally finished.
Nazard wrote: Sully wrote: Nazard wrote: Hey Sully, Talomyr...if you guys were still interested in making me a character, my druid just backed out so I could definitely use another meleer now. I'll make a paladin...when is the deadline? Just out of curiosity, what would the ETA be of said paladin? Not trying to rush you or anything... Probably tomorrow night. I'm running my RL game tonight, then work tomorrow. Most likely he'll be human as well.

Funny...a Paladin had crossed mine.

I'm not tossing my hat in. Just wishing you a good game and letting you know I'll be lurking this one, for sure. I've got too much on my plate as it is running two and playing in three!
Best of luck, and I look forward to this one getting off the ground! I'm just disappointed I don't get to see Parneth in action, as he is my first alternate in CotCT.
Anyway, game one, mate!
DM Berwick wrote: Well then,
One caveat before we start. I need Saturday, 8 May 2010 off from duties as DM. My grandmother died, and that is the day of the memorial.
My condolences, mate. Thoughts are with you and your family.
I look forward to running with you, though! Take your time, even though I'm anxious to get started again.
EDIT: I'm glad Frik has found a new home...I barely got him off the ground yet!
Thanks so much, Lucendar! I hope I get a chance to game with you in the future, and I'll keep lurking your LoF game as it is top notch!
Good luck!
I hate to say this, but I agree with Talomyr...
I'm going to respectfully bow out because 1) I am busy as it is and don't want one thread to suffer because I took on too much and 2) I want those awesome characters I couldn't fit in to my CotCT game to have a home and 3) I want to read about their adventures! :)
Good luck, and I'll lurk the tar out of this one, for sure.
Berwick is a fantastic writer, and I've yet to game with him (though I've wanted to very much) so I'm all for it!
Really it's up to the group as a whole, though.
Hi Lucendar! I'd love to keep the game going, and if you are interested in jumping in - well I'm for it! I've been enjoying your LoF thread as well, so I think it would be great to game with you.
I'm still laughing that I posted in this thread as DM Sully...
I've got too many avatars at this point!
I know that one of the players in my group is running a CotCT campaign to catch the overflow from the one I've been organizing, but I don't know of anyone else on the boards who wants to run a game and currently is not.
Gears are turning in my brain...this could be fuuuuuuuun!
I'm game for whatever, to be honest. I don't have the time to run another PbP, but I hate that this one is DOA. This was a good group. If we relocate, I can certainly play in another, but I just am not in a position to run another.
DM Talomyr wrote: Cadwyn Tallis wrote: Sully here. I've got to fix this guy up, but I'll probably run him. He needs a lot of work in both background and crunch, but I'll switch him up when I get a chance. If we don't get a cleric in here, I'll possible switch to the one I've got rolled up.
Just want to get in so you know for sure that I'm interested!
Cool, just let me know if you have questions or you wanna bounce a few changes off of me.
How'd gambling/drinking extraveganza go tonight?
It was great! I won some money and I don't feel awful this morning, so I call it a success. I'll try to get some changes on Cadwyn today, but I'm running my real life Kingmaker this afternoon. When are you looking to start?
Wish me luck...going to go drink too much and gamble tonight! :)
Nazard wrote:
Edit: Oh, and anybody interested in such a game?
That does sound like a lot of fun...
Same here. Still hope he's ok!
Yeah, agreed. Only reason I'm worried is because he said he'd have something up a few days ago and didn't, and he has been very good about following through.
Hope all is well!
Be safe! Thanks for fighting the good fight, mate. See you back on the boards soon.
Got it. Agreed, Skullbone, it sounds like a great idea, regardless. And that does make sense...I totally read that differently, but you're right Heaven's Agent.
Anyway, good luck and I will check it out!
Wait...this sounds like an awesome idea, but is 4E really what most people are playing? Not inciting a flame war, that just seems bizarre.
Anyway, I'll probably still check it out...but hmmm...the third paragraph mostly lost me as well.
I'm also in Indy. I've got a full group, but I'd be willing to get involved if it fits in my schedule. Email me at:
if you're interested and I'll try to fit it in!
That's what she said?
Of course, Berwick! Glad to have you lurking. I appreciate all the kind words.
Happy gaming, mate!
I would be very much interested in playing. I would probably go for an arcane caster, probably a wizard, or a rogue/historian type character.
Don't have anything put together yet, but if I make the cut I can throw a character together quickly.
Thanks for the opportunity!
We've got a great group that meets on the west side to play PFRPG, but we're full up at the moment. I'm always looking for a game though, so maybe we can get something together. I'm currently DMing Kingmaker, so it would be nice to break and maybe play on the other side of the table.
Lots of gamers here in the beautiful Circle City, you just have to know where to look! I might be down to start another group, or join one.
Eric Zylstra wrote: My daughter Miriya was born this morning at 2:13 a.m. All are well, but I'm a bit busy with our other kids today.
I will check the turn again in the afternoon, but if Origen is stopping the action for more than an hour or so, please NPC him for the round. If possible, he will avoid rays against crazy humans, as he hopes to save them.
Sleep . . . .
Congratulations! That's great news! Hopefully she was born with a d20 in her hand...
You looking for PbP or table gaming, mate?
Stellar idea, mate! Thanks!

Doctor Impossible wrote: Neil, I looked over Jonagher's sheet.
There's one small snag that I can see. To my knowledge, his club shouldn't be eligible for Weapon Finesse, because it's not a Light weapon.
One other concern...encumbrance. Jonagher's carrying roughly 59 pounds of gear, by my math, which would put him on the upper end of a Medium load. According to the RAW, he should have reduced movement speed, additional ACP skill penalties, yada yada. But, the thing is...I hate Encumbrance, both as a player and as a DM. I'm considering house-ruling out penalites for Medium loads (but Heavy loads would still be enforcible, just to avoid abuse potential). Armor Penalties for medium/heavy armor would still be in effect, however. Thoughts, all?
I usually get around it by ruling that slipping out of a backpack is a free action, so when things get all rough and tumble you aren't still worrying about carrying anything but combat gear.
I rule that it slows them down for overland travel and such, but make it so there isn't an issue in combat.
That's how I do it anyway! :) Just a suggestion.
Character is done on paper, I'm just in the process of transferring him to the boards. He'll be up soon!
Any idea when you're looking to actually get the ball rolling, Dr. DM?

Doctor Impossible wrote: NSpicer wrote: Just FYI...in designing my rogue concept, I may take him down the path to Improved Feint to better take advantage of sneak opportunities in combat (aside from flanking). A design that's not for the feint of heart!
sorry. Bad DM! No more bad puns from you!
That's my job...
Yeah I'm definitely going to go cleric. I envisioned having more time tonight, but I'm in a band and we've got a gig Friday so practice ran a bit long this evening. I'll try to get a barebones something or other up tonight, but I'm off all evening tomorrow as well so I'll do it then, worst case scenario.
Anyway, good to meet you all! It'll be good to game with you.
I've played the "Indiana Jones" rogue in a campaign before. It's a hugely fun concept. You get to do all the crazy acrobatics, avoid the traps, stab the BBEG in the back, and then lecture everybody on the ancient heiroglyphics on the wall.
In other words, crazy fun!
I'm going to roll with a cleric of Cayden Callien(spelling looks wonky...don't have my book with me!) and I'll have him up this evening most likely! Thanks for letting me in. This'll be a great game!
As far as module goes, I've not played any of them or DM'd any of them. My DMing tends to run towards full campaigns rather than one shots. That being said, I'm good with whatever the group consensus decides.
I can do either a disposable character, or hang on to this one. It matters not to me! I enjoy rolling characters, but I also like finding one I love and sticking with him/her.
Anyway, happy gaming and I'll toss something in this thread soon!
Email on its way! I'd LOOOOOVE to play it. I am running it, but it's such a fun concept for a campaign I'd really like to get in on the player side. No meta-gaming, obviously. :)
Aye, I sent mine a bit ago...you should have it from:
