Hello everyone! I posted this in the 2nd Ed "Lost Omens Campaign Setting" forum and its "General Discussion" forum, but received no bites in either. I'm hoping maybe I'll have more luck postimg with the 1st Ed crew!

Basically, I'd love to learn more about the Starfall Doctrine. I know that it's been around since before Azlant fell, and I know that Cheliax turned rather heavily to it in the last couple centuries before Aroden's failed return.

Is there a copy of the Starfall Doctrine still existing in the Inner Sea region? If so, who has it? Do we know anything more about the prophecies that resided within the Starfall Doctrine? I read some stuff in old threads by Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Mona, but I'm curious if the Paizo crew have any legitimate world-related information about the prophecies of the Starfall Doctrine in books as canon, or if it's generally something that GMs and players are free to make up as they go.

I'm currently playing an Inquisitor of Aroden in an AP and would just like to have whatever official information I can get concerning the Starfall Doctrine, its current whereabouts, what's happened to it, and what prophecies are known to be in the SD within canon.

The Starfall Doctrine appears to play such a huge part of the history of the Inner Sea, yet nothing that I've yet found (and I've done some searching) provides a lot of information concerning it. I'd love to get some clues/answers if possible!

Many thanks to any and all who can help!

First off, it's been a long time since I've been here, so forgive me, since I'm relatively certain this is in the wrong place. I'm not sure where all this stuff is broken down since the turning to 2e.

I would be most appreciative if you'd cancel my subscription to the Adventure Path line before the new AP ships. The Return of the Runelords will be my final 1e purchase! Thanks for the great run, folks! It's been a pleasure!

Bannachadee, always,
Patrick

I apologize for coming here to post this, but I've head it up on the Steam forum for about four days and no one is replying. Figured maybe someone on this forum might have some info to help me out.

It seems when I play the game, it's a crap shoot as to whether I will get a picture or just black after a loading screen. There's sound, and my mouse can be heard clicking over buttons (such as if I hit Escape and glide the cursor over the Save, Load, etc. options), but there's no picture at all. This happens entirely too frequently, and I have to exit out of the game constantly with hopes that when I reload it, maybe I'll get a picture and can play.

I've started playing the game in windows rather than full screen, just so I can "x" out of the game without having to go to Task Manager!

I'm curious if this is a bug issue, or if there's something about the hardware in my computer or setup that's getting in the way. My stuff isn't brand new, but it should be more than capable to run this game. My Processor more than fits the recommended specs, and while my GeForce 9600 GT is an older model vid card, but it still meets all the recommendations that I can see. It's drivers are updated.

Is there something that I'm missing here that's causing me this little issue or is it on their end?

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Hey all,

I'd like to apologize, because I'm sure this question has been asked a million times . . . I'd done some searching, and I believe I've found the answer to it, but I've a compatriot of mine that's positive he remembers seeing a quote from the class creator, Mr. Seifter, that speaks otherwise. I'm not sure if there's been a misunderstanding or not, but I know he wouldn't make it up. He's an honest guy!

Does a Kineticist's infusion specialty work to reduce burn from all Kineticist abilities? The ability specifically says that it reduces burn from only infusions. Does it also reduce burn from composite blasts and metakinesis as well? So, if a 15th level Kineticist uses burning (1 burn) extended (1 burn) empowered (1 burn) maximized (2 burn) magma blast (2 burn) for a total of 7 burn . . . His infusion specialty, as I read it, will only reduce this blast by 2 burn (soaking up the burning and extending infusions, but none of the rest), leaving him with 5 burn. If he uses Gather Power for a full round action, then a move action on the next turn, it would soak up the last 5 burn from the metakinesis and composite blast. Otherwise, he's going to take burn from this blast dependent on how much he's using Gather Power for (taking 3 burn if he only uses a move action, or 2 burn if he uses a full round action).

Am I right on how this works? Or, does his infusion specialty (-4 to burn at level 15) soak up a total of 4 burn from the blast, leaving him with only 3 left over, which can be soaked with a full round Gather Power?

Does Mr. Seifter have a quote out there anywhere that states infusion specialty reduces burn from the entire blast, and not just from the infusions added to the blast? I'm quite literally seeking verification here.

Thanks for any and all help!

This is a plea for resources containing individuals in the world that have stayed true to Aroden despite his death.

I'm building a character concept based on a follower of Aroden who has been on a pilgrimage to speak with those who have refused to turn away from the Last Azlant. I was curious if anyone can point me to specific references that I could look up or read into about the happenings of those who have remained faithful.

Any and all help is appreciated!

There's something going on with this site's ability to remember my payment method. I've got the PFAP subscription at the moment, and every month I'm getting a message that says:

"We are eager to ship your products, but we need your help. We do not have a payment method on file for this order. Please take a moment to add a payment method to this order at your . . . ."

Apparently, my payment method is declined every month, yet the payment method that I put in every month when I get this method is the exact same payment method as what the system continues to decline. I don't understand why it's doing this! I tell it to save it, and it does . . . the payment method is still there as I write this, but it seems to be declining that and forcing me to put it in over and over again.

Help? Please?

It's not a problem that's insurmountable, as I can put the stuff in every month if necessary, but it's kind of annoying, if you get me.

Why did you guys and gals choose to stop having the various AP forums closed up so you have to click on them to see their threads? They have a little arrow next to them, but when I click it to see all the recent activity in the forum, nothing happens. It's annoying to me, I'm sorry to say. Those forums were my primary reason for being on this site. Would it be possible to open them back up for viewing (without clicking)?

For the record, this is not a journal, per se, but a backstory for my character entering into a Giantslayer campaign that my group started a few months ago. I will try to post pieces of it every couple days. While it's primarily here just to share with the community, any feedback is appreciated!

“Behold the splendor of this wilderness realm: its every rock, tree, and stream. Within, animals have created a kingdom, and mankind has erected a bastion of freedom. Measured against these things you are insignificant. But, in dying to protect them, you may find worth."

--Horethama, Queen of the Frozen Falls

A goat hoof pressed against the shoulder of a prone figure and turned the lifeless body onto its back. The ghostly dawn mist washed over its bloody features in curling wisps, as though the spirit was just now departing in sorrow.

Not far away, an infant’s cries haunted both the living and the dead.

“Here’s the mate,” Nomanti’s deep, melodic voice called out to his hunting partner. The satyr bent over the female elf and ran a finger along her slender cheek, stopping just above the ugly canyon that her throat had become. “What a waste,” the fey sighed and shook his head.

“Two elves, then,” replied the soft tenor tone of Sath from twenty yards off. Despite their loud conversation, the faun held his bow at the ready and watched the surrounding trees for any sign of danger returning. “A score of dead orcs by the other, with another dozen about this one. They fought hard and well.”

“And much good it did them, eh?” Nomanti scoffed, his hands liberally searching the dead elf female for whatever goods of worth she might carry.

The faun shook his head at the negativity of his companion. He strongly desired to remind the satyr that had the two of them perished slaying over thirty orcs--the scourge of this land--their King and Queen would have celebrated them with feasting and singing. Instead, he remained quiet and progressed toward the crying infant, cradled atop a soft bed of moss and ferns.

His brow arched as he approached. “The child is not hidden,” Sath expressed with some intrigue. “However did he survive, I wonder?”

“It obviously was not crying at the time,” the satyr stated, tossing an empty potion flask he had found on the dead elf at Sath.

The other caught it easily, examined it for a moment, then glanced back down at the baby as he pieced together the small puzzle. “But why sacrifice herself and turn the child invisible?” he wondered aloud. “Why not drink the potion yourself and both escape?”

Nomanti offered a derisive chuckle. “Sentimentality for that one, I would say,” he nodded in the direction of the male elf over 70 yards west of their location. “I will never understand the foolishness of the mortal races.” He admired the dead female one last time and repeated, “What a waste,” then strode toward faun and child while pocketing the two full potions recovered from the body. “Silence that thing and let us be on our way.”

Sath heard the intention in his partner’s tone and frowned at its maliciousness. If ever there existed a reason why fauns hated being confused as satyrs, it surely involved the complete lack of empathy shown by the latter. In deliberate protest, the faun set his bow upon the ground and picked up the child, cradling him and attempting to quiet him with gentle rocking.

“Truly?” the satyr spat with indignation. “Will you try suckling it next?”

“I am taking him with us,” Sath informed his companion.

“To what end? Two are dead already trying to keep that creature! It is a bad omen, Sath, and it will only slow us down.”

The faun glared at Nomanti. “Our purpose is not to kill the weak and innocent, but to protect them, or have you forgotten?”

“Our purpose is to kill orcs, not look after the dead’s baggage. I will not die for that useless creature,” Nomanti pointed accusingly at the child. “Had these foolish mortals cared for the thing at all, they would not have brought it into such a dangerous realm to begin with. Do not let their mistake become ours.”

“I know not why these elves were here, and I refuse to question their purpose or intention based on what I do not know. What I can discern is their quality in arms by the score-and-a-half dead I witness around them. If this child inherited such skill, he might be an asset to our own cause.” Sath locked eyes with his hunting partner and filled his voice with absolute determination that brooked no argument as he insisted a final time, “I am taking him with us.”

The satyr spat on the ground and helplessly threw his hands in the air. “It is a waste of time, I say, but fine,” he gave in, then quickly formed a most sardonic grin. “The King of Thorns will likely dispose of the thing at first glance anyhow.”

“Mine is not to question our King’s judgment,” Sath stated simply. “Only yours.”

A Spiritualist's phantom gains a Dex/Cha bonus throughout its progression. I'm simply curious as to why it gets a Charisma bonus. They are not considered undead, so it doesn't help them with hit points. There doesn't appear to be anything that the Charisma score does to help it. So, why does it get such a boost? Why not give it progression in Constitution, so it would get more hit points, or Strength, so that it can do more on attack/damage? Honestly, the phantoms aren't that viable as combatants anyhow, so why gimp them more by giving them a useless ability progression?

This may be a unique question, but we're new to this adventure card game, and a friend of mine did this last session. I wasn't sure about it then, but didn't want to say anything until I got some input.

Basically, he's playing Valeros. When he would explore and draw a weapon to acquire, because the "Check to Acquire" says Strength Melee he was using a weapon card from his hand to give him an additional die (or two, if he recharged it) to acquire the weapon.

As an example, let's say he drew the "Horsechopper +1" weapon card while exploring. The Check to Acquire for the weapon is Strength Melee 9. Valeros has a d10 in Strength, with a Melee +3 bonus. He would then reveal a longsword to give himself an additional d8 to the roll, and discard (or recharge it, because he's Valeros) for another d6. Thus, he would end up rolling 1d10+1d8+1d6+3 to acquire the "Horsechopper +1" with a score of 9.

Is that legal according to the game rules? Or, must he only use his d10 Strength +3 Melee roll to acquire the weapon?

So, I've tried to reconstruct how some of the Unchained Scaling Item examples were created, but I'm getting some weird variables here that I can't pinpoint. I'm not the greatest mathematician, so please forgive that!

I understand how the system works. I've gone over that rather extensively, and I've figured it out pretty well. It's the cost for applying certain abilities that does not make sense to me. Thus, I was wondering if others may have figured out some of the standardized pricing for this stuff.

For the Armageddon Plate:

What would the pricing be for the 8th level fear ability? It appears to mimic a monster special ability, not the spell (the spell would cost too much anyway for the level it gets unlocked), and I see nothing on the magic item pricing chart that equates to this.

Additionally, how would one price the DC increase and ranged attack retaliation for that fear ability at the unlocked 13th level?

Or the change of Damage Reduction from DR/magic to DR/- in the modified Invulnerability ability for the unlocked 16th level ability?

For the Armor of the Celestial Host:

Is there a standardized pricing for all of that fiddling with the maximum Dexterity bonus and Armor Check Penalty? I know that the original price factors in the armor being mithral (or so it appears to me), but how about all the other changes applied to it both at the start and throughout the unlocked leveling process?

What about the changing of the fly spell casting becoming a swift action?

There's all kinds of examples of this throughout the example items where I don't see rules that apply to their cost in creating magic items.

Is there a chart I'm not finding somewhere? Are there become a de facto magic item creation equations that have been agreed upon for the pricing of these kinds of things?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to tackle this issue and help me out a bit!

I have a dwarf character who just got a Hammer of Thunderbolts. Is there a way for a medium-sized character to wield the artifact with one hand? He's a Magus (Spellsword Archetype), and I'd love to be able to continue to use the athame if possible!

That whole large weapon for it the warhammer is what's stifling me on this. How do medium players wield it without size penalties?

Looks like the RotRL Anniversary Hardcover will be shipping about the same time as the next AP installment. I've got a large order here already, but was wondering if I could get someone to put together this order to ship with the next AP subscription in July? I'd hate to have to spend more on shipping than is necessary! Easiest to just have it all come together! =D

Thanks in advance!

My apologies if this isn't the correct place . . . I'm confident you'll move it to the proper place if it's not though. ;)

I'm curious if there's been some shipments running behind or just some mix-ups at the warehouse. I'm know that Jade Regent part five had some issues, but I got notification that it was being shipped about six days ago, yet every time I try and look at the tracking for it I get an unavailable message come up.

In addition, I placed an order for the Bestiary 3 on Jan. 18th, but have gotten no shipping date for that yet, which is really unusual for it to sit so long. This is my second go for that, as the first one that I ordered back in December never got delivered to me (though UPS tracking says it did on Dec. 30th, despite the fact I was home that whole day on Christmas break but never got a knock on my door).

Really, I'm just checking in here because I'm a bit paranoid after losing that last order. I had gift certificates and the additional 10% off in January to really cut down on the cost (I'm also PF advantage) a lot, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. I know it's not your fault at all that the first order got botched somehow--UPS still hasn't gotten back to me on that score, but I'm just curious if things are running behind on all the shipments there, and when I can expect to see these things coming my way.

Have a great one all! =)

A couple weeks ago, I was reading through a thread about someone wanting to play a follower of Aroden but getting spells from Iomedae. This discussion quickly broke down, but in that thread someone had mentioned a cleric of Aroden (powerless, of course) still going strong in Lastwall preaching the letter of the law but not necessarily believing in the spirit of it any longer.

Would someone be willing to fill me in on who this individual is and maybe a little about him and where in Lastwall he might be, please? I would love to include this man in a backstory for a character I'll be playing in the future, and I can't find the thread again for the life of me! (I've found another one that was similar, with similar arguments and refutes, but it didn't have the post I remembered in it, so I'm guessing this argument springs up a lot.)

I thank any and all who help me gather this info! It's much appreciated!
