"Myrp, running with scissors is not a good idea." Starigati has a memory of learning that the hard way when she was five. "Captain, if the storm lets up before we get back how long will you wait for us to return once the sky is clear?!" she asks, raising her voice to be heard over the heavy downpour. After the captain answers, Stari sprints to catch up to Myrp, "Best if we are stay within sight of each other!" she calls out to her traveling companions.
Perception to notice Vasily removing his family crest pin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 What is your Stealth DC, Vasily? Starigati walks besides Jikah at the back of the marching order. The answers Jikah receives from Starigati (acting as the 'phone') receives from Taumata are vague that do not result in a definite 'yes' or 'no' reply to the kobold's questions. Any questions Jikah asks Starigati about herself (not Taumata) are answered with non-vague replies. That sounds like a solid plan to me, Lia.
Starigati looks around to see if anyone was injured during their rush to get away from the troll. Seeing that the worst for wear was minor scrapes from branches that the group ran by, she offers some minor ointment to rub on the scracthes, "Rub this on any scratches you got surviving our first troll encounter. I am not sure what kind of diseases rummaging around the flora of this part of the world might result in. Hopefully none, but the ointment will help to counteract any sap that might have made contact with your blood." @Lia: If I recall correctly, the non-commisioned pathfinders study for three years at the Grand Lodge before having their confirmation. Work with it was three years that Chishik studied in Absalom for? I am working with Stari being 16 when Chishik and her left the Shackles to head for Absalom. The young Tian woman answers the question of why she never told them about Taumata, "It was Taumata's decision for you to learn about him, not mine. He does not think any of you are a threat to me or Chishik." "I have known Taumata since I was eleven. The majority of the time he became external back home was to tell Chishik stories of past events throughout the history of Golarion. The past few years he usually only becomes external when I was in danger or when we..." Starigati pauses her words, <"That is all they need to know for now. I will tell them about my goals when I feel they have earned that knowledge."> "Let's eat before we continue our trek."
The dragon gets into position at the edge of the bridge, ready to breathe its poisonous cloud (clone) breath should the troll catch up to the group before his allies make it across the river. When it comes time for the dragon to go across he will jump off the bridge towards the other side and glide as far as it can. vertical leap off the bridge (3 feet above height of highest point of bridge that is on side party started on). The dragon can glide 25 feet for every 5 feet of vertical height. Athletics check to swim if dragon does not make it to other side with its glide. athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
As Stari is starting to pass by the Wounded Wisp on her way to the Grand Lodge, she overhears the two people speaking with a Brevoy accent, <"Ah, it seems luck is upon us today. Befriend those two men and the rest of their group. They hail from where we will be heading. They might have news that could prove relevant to our destination."> Stari turns around and approaches the small group that are just about to head into the tavern, "Hi, there. Are the two of you from Brevoy? I heard there was some kind of building found in the Lake of Mists and Veils. Is that gossip based on any truth?" As Stari closes the distance to the group she stops, and does a standing bow towards each of the four of them, "I am Stari of the Ushinawa Isles. Would it be okay if I joined the four of you inside? I just need to leave a message for my friend at the Lodge so he knows to find me at the Wisp." <"Wait for someone to answer you before asking subsequent questions.">
Starigati was enjoying browsing the Grand Bazaar while her friend, Chishik, went to inquire about becoming a Pathfinder at the Grand Lodge. <"You don't need that. It's a toy. None of the items in this goblin's toy shop were ever part of my hoards. You have played with several of the toys in here already. Are you not bored yet?"> Stari eyed a kite on the wall, then asked the owner, a friendly female goblin named Ozi. "Thanks for letting me enjoy playing with the toys. I don't want to buy anything yet, though if you still have this before I leave the city," Stari curls the bandolore up and down a few more times before handing it back to Ozi, "I think I will buy it. I like your idea about some of your toys being useful to give to ill children to distract them with something fun. When I am passing back through on my way home, I will buy some stuff to take back to the islands with me." Ozi laughs and looks up a bit so she has her eyes looking at Stari's, "Silly, you are on an island. You meant another island, hmm?" "I did. I am from the Ushinawa Isles. I came here with my friend who is joining the Pathfinders." "A pathfinder? They like lore and stories. You should check out Horace's 2 Copper Reads. You might find some stories about your islands." <"Let's go already."> Stari thanks Ozi again and heads out to find your her way to the book shop. While browsing some of the booklets, she finds one that is a collection of tales of Minkai and buys it as a gift for Chishik. A couple of other customers were talking about some huge discovery far up north in the Lake of Mists and Veils. <"Stari, move closer so I can hear their conversation better."> Stari does as requested. After a few minutes of listening to the conversation, her 'inner monologue' over the next few minutes let her know there is a change of plans. They need to go north instead of south and to head back to the Grand Lodge to discuss the possibility of Chishik traveling north with them. Stari starts heading towards the Grand Lodge...
Starigati (pronounced Star-ee-gat-tee) "Stari" to her friends. Hero Forge mini of Starigati Going to read up the entries for Minata before deciding on the name that the eidolon gives as his name. Player knowledge: the cunning dragon might at some point allude to being part of Starigati's Tian ancestors (using a bit of truth to make a falsehood seem true). This is a cunning tactic the dragon does - so whenever the dragon's current bonded summoner figures out that they are a descendant of the dragon, they believe the dragon is an ancestor of a specific parent of theirs, when it is the other parent that is the direct bloodline descendant of the dragon. Brief 'snapshot' of backstory, which I still need to flesh out more than this tidbit. Spoiler: While at the river by herself, washing clothing and linen for the geisha bardic school, she had her first period. This did not surprise her as her mother had already educated her regarding puberty changes. What her mother did not tell her was that you would start to hear voices in your head. <"Do you want to live in this place your whole life or would you like to see the world, child?"> "Who's there? Stop hiding and come where I can see you." Starigati told whoever just spoke to her. <"You want to see me, child? Are you sure?"> "Yes" <"As you wish, child. Look at your reflection in the water and you will see me."> A bit confused at how someone under the surface of the water could be speaking so clearly, Starigati, looked at the water and saw her reflection, and then saw the face of a dragon emerging from her own face, until her face was no longer visible, "Now that you have seen me, answer my question, child. Would you like to see the world or do you want to spend your life on this island?" Seeing the dragon's mouth move as it talked, the voice was much deeper than it was before. <"My friend Dobu plans to travel to Absolom to become a Pathfinder."> Her own voice sounded different. <"Why does my voice sound different?"> The reflection of the dragon, her reflection...spoke again, "We have a bond, child, and while you host me others cannot see or hear me, and when we swap places, others can see me but not see or hear you. Would you like to travel with your friend?" Still not fully comprehending what exactly was happening, Starigati answered the question truthfully, <"It would be fun to accompany Dobu, but I do not have any interest in becoming a Pathfinder. He would be studying at their Grand Lodge for years. What would I do while he is enrolled at the Pathfinder school?"> "Finding hidden treasures." <"We would need a treaure map for that."> "No we do not. For I was the one who buried the treasure." <"This is the Shackles. Chances are any treasure you buried here might have been discovered by a pirate already."> "The first treasure we would be digging up is not in The Shackles. It is in Iblydos. So, I ask again, child. Do you want to spend your life here or become a treasure hunter?" Starigati ponders the question for a few minutes, <"Becoming a treasure hunter could be fun, but if Dobi needs my help or wants me to accompany him, for his travel to Absalom and his travels from there after his time training at the Grand Lodge, I would want that to take precedent over finding your treasure. Is that okay?> The dragon smiles, "Those are acceptable terms, Starigati. Do you want to secure our pact?" <"Not yet. I want Dobi to benefit from the magic items from your treasure as well."> "That is acceptable, Starigati. Any other terms you want to add?" <"Would we need more than you and me to uncover your treasure?> "We should not for the treasure I hid in Iblydos. For some of the other treasures I hid, we might need to ally ourselves with a few others to retrive my treasures." <"Then in addition to Dobi, any allies that help us should each get an item from each of the buried treasures they help us retrieve."> "There are certain items that are to remain mine, as well as certain items you are to take posession of. As for the rest, I can wait another century or two before reacquiring them after your friend and our future allies have benefitted from having them during their lifetimes. Are you satisfied with the terms, Starigati?" <"Yes."> Starigati sees the reflection of the dragon lift its right front leg from the water and bring its claw to its face and start to rend into its scales below its right eye, Starigati can feel the pain of the flesh under her right eye being shredded, "We are now bonded. It is time to start your magic lessons. The first lesson is to heal the pain of our pact wound, though the scar will remain. This scar is more than just a symbol of our pact. In time it will gain the power to mend any other wounds you...I...we gain." Starigati watches as the reflection of the dragon recedes, as her own face seems to emerge out of the dragon's head, though unlike the dragon's head, the size of her head never changes in size as the dragon's size gets smaller until it vanishes within Starigati's own reflection. The dragon instructs Starigati how to cast the Soothe spell, and the pain goes away, but the scars below her right eye remain. <"Would you like to suprise your friend Dobi that you are now a spellcaster too?"> Starigati smiles. |
