![]() As I am a person with chronic pain who walks with a cane in my mid-20s, a person who knows the experience of having to plan my every day... and of knowing that those plans don't always turn out as expected... I love Ciravel. I've loved a lot of iconics for Starfinder. This is the first to bring tears to my eyes. Thank you. ![]()
![]() So, I've found a discrepancy in the Guide to Organized Play. Organized Play Basics wrote:
But... Player Basics wrote: As you complete adventures, you will gain more wealth that can be used to buy any common item that is no more than 2 levels higher than your current level. Uncommon items may be granted by Chronicle sheets or through other special boons. Characters with the appropriate crafting feats may also be able to obtain formulas for equipment that they can create during Downtime. Emphasis mine in both areas. Which is correct? We can purchase common equipment with an item level equal to character level or less (minimum 2), or we can purchase common equipment with an item level equal to character level +2 or less? ![]()

![]() Hi all! I'm organizing the OPF events for Gaming Hoopla (link to their site), a really great charity con at the Hilton DoubleTree in Mundelein, IL, which supports Aurora Cancer Care. I'm looking for players and GMs both! Anyone interested in GMing should email me at condochimp@gmail.com and we can work out a schedule. One note is that because of convention policies and in the interest of supporting the charity, we will not be able to provide free badges. Thanks so much, everyone! ![]()

![]() So, I was looking through the Armory, and saw the graviton pistol. It seemed interesting, especially for the melee operative I'm building to use as a back-up when she can't get close enough. However, I checked the operative, and trick attack has the following wording (emphasis mine): Trick Attack wrote:
This seems to imply that if your attack doesn't innately do damage, that the trick attack won't do additional damage, but I can't find anything saying whether or not that's accurate. Given that the graviton pistol has a damage entry of "—", I'd like to know if it's possible to trick attack with it an do the extra damage. Thanks! ![]()

![]() So, sorcerers are stated to be trained in a number of skills equal to 5 + INT mod. However, there's a matter I'm unsure of how to handle, and it's in the section on how to read a bloodline entry. Playtest Rulebook, page 129 wrote:
Emphasis mine. So, am I trained in 5 + INT mod skills, AND the bloodline signature skills? Or do I just get 5 + INT mod skills, and the bloodline signature skills are among those options? What is effectively 9 + INT mod trained skills is a lot for a sorcerer... ![]()
![]() Hi all, I was looking over the sanctioning document and updated chronicle sheets for Dead Suns, and had a realization. I've been GMing Dead Suns in campaign mode, and applying the chronicle sheets to 1st level characters with reduced credits. Given that you must normally wait until the character is within the level range for the chronicle sheet to benefit from any of those boons, how does the Legacy of Vanished Ages boon from the chronicle sheet from book 6 work with that? It requires you to have completed all six books and is applied to a new character, but doesn't say that the books' chronicles have to be applied to the same character or anything like that. So would I have to get the character I apply my book 6 chronicle to up to 11th level before I can use the Legacy of Vanished Ages boon? I would hope not, but I'm honestly not sure. Thanks all! ![]()
![]() Hi all, I just got this scenario (I'm GMing it this Saturday) and noticed something odd about the chronicle sheet. Spoiler:
The gold pieces gained scale with the number of quests done, but not with level. House of Harmonious Wisdom, which was structured similarly, scaled them with both number of quests and level. So, is that element of the chronicle correct? Or should there be an adjustment to how much is earned? ![]()

![]() So, I've been conceptualizing a paladin of the oath of charity, and with Merchant's Manifest out, there is now the Knight of Coins. RAW the archetypes stack, but I'm trying to figue out how Charitable Mercy from the oath of charity interacts with Blessing of Prosperity from knight of coins. A paladin can't normally change their known mercies. A knight of coins can't normally change their known blessings. Blessings of Prosperity can be gained with Extra Mercy. Oath of Charity lets you, at 5th, change your mercies each day, unlike a normal paladin. If I have both archetypes, can I exchange blessings? Relatedly, do blessomgs of prosperity count as having a mercy for prerequisites? Because RAW, a knight of coins has to wait to get their first normal mercy at 6th to take extra mercy. ![]()

![]() So, I've been meaning to build an armor storm soldier for a little while, and found myself confused by the wording of enhanced tank. It gives one more upgrade than normal beyond its normal maximum number of upgrade slots. I'm confused because I see two clearly obvious interpretations. 1: You can have one more upgrade than normal, no matter the number of slots it occupies.
The armor storm FAQ heavily implies the latter, but I'm not certain... Especially because said FAQ's ruling also implies that if it IS one slot, I'm not allowed to have a 2-slot upgrade occupy my bonus slot and one normal slot, which seems like a serious but potentially necessary limitation, depending on how powerful it was intended to be. Anyone know which one it would ve? ![]()
![]() So, I'm looking this scenario over so I can prep it later, and noticed something on the chronicle sheet. Spoiler:
The Rare Weapons boon states you can buy the weapons as they're shown under the available items. But it only shows those weapons as having specific enhancements. The way it appears is that because the items normally aren't legal, you can only buy them with those enhancements. I'm worried that GMs might see that to mean you can't enhance them further, as that would no longer be an allowed item. So, is there a way someone could clarify that boon? ![]()

![]() So, I was looking into the Ranged Tactics Toolbox, trying to find anything I missed in my first few perusals. Found the ring of far strike, found here. My question is, can a magus with one of these rings use spellstrike in conjunction with it, making the melee weapon attack required to use spellstrike at the 30-foot range afforded by the ring? My inclination is that the answer could be:
And then, if it's the second one, they're separate standards, what about holding the charge? Can I move, cast shocking grasp, choose to hold the charge (purposefully not swinging), then use my next turn to use far strike with my spellstrike? ![]()

![]() So, from what I understand, summoning a celestial creature with summon monster gives the spell the good descriptor, and summoning a fiendish creature gives the spell the evil descriptor. If I use the Versatile Summon Monster (Monster Summoner's Handbook, page 18) to summon a chthonic creature, will the spell itself have the earth descriptor? If I use it to summon a dark creature will the spell have the darkness descriptor? Thanks for any help that can be provided. ~Lindley Court <3 ![]()

![]() I'm happy to have received my subscription order, but when I opened it, I did not have the Curse of the Crimson Thrown Pawn Collection that I'd ordered. Instead, I had the twice-as-expensive hardcover book that I already have from my FLGS. What can I do to get the product I ordered, and what should I do with the hardcover book I was given on accident? Everything else came in fine. Thanks! ![]()

![]() I was thinking about how the skald's nature is commonly reduced to merely an angry bard, when the fact that it's so much more is so much more interesting. So I made an archetype built around a variant of spell kenning, with no raging song. If you can critique it, it'd really help. :) ![]()
