Monster and NPC Death

Most monsters and NPCs don’t have Resolve Points, so injury and death work differently for them. A monster or NPC reduced to 0 HP is dead, unless the last bit of damage it took was nonlethal damage (see page 252), in which case it is knocked unconscious. If it is ever important to know exactly when a monster dies, such as if you want to capture the creature alive, the GM can decide that a monster reduced to 0 or fewer Hit Points with lethal damage dies in 3 rounds unless it takes any additional damage or receives healing. If a monster or NPC has Resolve Points, the GM can choose whether the monster dies at 0 HP or if it uses the normal rules for dying and death.

So, it is not a rule that it takes an NPC 3 rounds to die.

And, even if an NPC has RPs, it can still die when reaching 0 HP while still having plenty of RPs (the GM choosing if death @ 0 HP or that NPC uses RP to stabilize etc.).

So no spell cast for poor Sparks?

Sparks concentrates for a while... and sends some more force bolts.

Sparks' fur is blown back by the sonic wave accompanying the roar... but she has heard Fitch bellow about people finishing all the cheese, so she remains unfazed by a mere dragon.

She is, on the other hand, very shaken by Maverick.
The man simply shot a bullet, and blasted such a hole! While... knocking a frickin' dragon to the ground!
She takes a small step away from Maverick--

--and Norys looks up... she smiles, and points to Maverick: Him! Not me...

Sparks glances up at Maverick, eying the man, and thinking: If he sees this as a worm, I don't want to go fishing with him!

The Dragon was hiding above, and passed over the side and down?

Sparks sighs, and, seeing that Norys is about to make things even colder, she spends some seconds summoning arcane symbols with her little paws, and sends three missiles of force energy at the dragon.

Sparks comes up and stands beside Maverick, having to get up on tip toes to look over the edge.

Sparks is remaining above, looking around the wreckage for now.

Sparks goes rummaging around... but finds nothing of interest.

Seeing that the group has it all under control, Sparks exits and goes to explore the other rooms of the crashed ship.

We'll get down.
There is five of us, so if one at least can get safely down, Sparks can get the others down (I can polymorph 4).
If none can get down, then Sparks will dig the tunnel so all 5 can get down.
I think I can only dig through 5 ft. per minute, and my spells last 6 minutes, so that's 30 ft./spell, and I can cast 4 x lvl 2 spells

I can polymorph myself into a Quorlu and burrow through the rock leaving a tunnel (but it takes 1 minute per 5 feet ; so I'd do 20 feet per spell, and have four such spells).
Or else polymorph myself and/or others and give a climb speed (super Ysoki with sharp claws) or a fly speed (as a Contemplative). I can cast these four times (lvl 2nd spell) so for four people max'.

Sparks drops the 2 medpatches and the canister of sprayflesh on the ground.

Then she looks over the edge and stands up on tip-claws: "NICE DROP!"
She steps back and looks at her comrades:
"Shall we do a quick search of the premises to see what's here... and then we go down?

Sparks picks up 2 medpatches and a canister of sprayflesh... and hopefully nothing else.

"All clear in here! You guys having fun?"

Sparks will open the door, enter... and rummage around, waiting for the monster to pop out of somewhere.

Watching Neroo lead the group off into the core of the reactor, Sparks continues to go to check the door to the locker and storage area...

Kudos Duhm! I think the consensus is that 30 minutes on a daily/regular basis is the most important.

Sparks glances around, in her mind, the surveillance cameras and such are part of the old base--
correct? (not stuff on the ship or hastily set up?)
--and she glances at the trap-gem: wondering if it looks like it was dropped there just now, or if it is some sort of pre-installed defence mechanism?

She puts her hand on Neroo's arm: "This place is trapped, so keep your done close. They might have automated guns and such. Let me send someone in who is more... expendable."

Sparks starts waving her paws, and mumbling arcane words, opening a little portal in front of her, summoning in a creature from another plane of existence: a small tornado with little arms and glowing blue eyes appears through the gate.
"Hello Dyson!", says Sparks, before switching to Auran.

Sparks will give Dyson some instructions, the idea being for the elemental to fly around for its 6 rounds of fun on this Plane, first doing a perimeter sweep some 3 rounds w. 200 ft/round?, starting by going right, to end up coming back from our left and checking out the big gun, then, when it has looped back, to go zig-zag around the buildings, passing in between them.
His task is to see if there are traps, or people hidden behind the buildings or such.

Sparks' fur bristles, and, dredging it up from her cheek pouches, she suddenly spits a toolkit right out of her mouth and straight into her hand.
Using this magical trapsmith toolkit, she hopes it will help her foil the crystal.
Since this is considered a trap, Sparks should get a +4 from the kit

She then glances around, to see if anyone's mojo is stronger than hers.
If so she will defer to them, otherwise she'll go for it!
If Sparks' bonus is the highest, she will roll as the Main person vs. the crystal ; if someone else has a higher bonus, she will Aid that person

Life Bubble was cast the day before our arrival, so should last today + 4 more days (6 targets, so all of us)

Besides most having clothes and armor with environmental seals, Sparks cast Life Bubble on all of us, and the spell «  In addition, the shell protects targets (and their equipment) from extreme temperatures (between –50° and 140° F) without having to attempt Fortitude saving throws « (link in my signature).

"Too bad we cannot drop some of those targeting beacons on the vessel... well, walk and trek it'll be!"

Sparks is ready to help land.

Sparks will spend some time to patch the second glitching system too.
(but it seems we are out of space combat now, so no need to track?)

Sparks is in favor of some orbital or flyby blasting, before putting down and trekking through the snow.

Life Bubble protects till –50°, so that is even deep into Extreme Cold, which is the step worse than Severe. I imagine all accepted the spell.

Sparks looks around and calls out on the comms': "Ready to divert power to boost our shields, unless I'm needed at the gunnery station."

Say if you prefer Sparks at a gun instead of giving some SPs.
Otherwise, I can try a triple: giving +2 to speed ; +2 to Science Officer ; plus boosting shields

If needed I can burn another RP and try to triple Divert: since rerolling 1's is useless, that would mean giving +2 to speed and +2 to Science Officer, it seems that is not really useful. My feeling is that I either simply Divert to Shields again ; or help w. the guns by shooting if needed
