Female Human Witchwarper / 1
You can run my character for few days. Mom passed away and I am busy with stuff.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace draws her bow as she moves up and fires and arrow at the lead troglodyte purple one. ranged attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 point blank and precise shot
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace heads after them. "Be careful what you are running into. We have no idea what is up ahead."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace swings at one of the trogs that just attacked her. Blue attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
The problem is that we cant let them live now. I doubt they would leave us in peace after this. We dont know how many more tribes there are and this may give them cause enough to join the hobgoblins.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
It's the presumption of who is or isn't innocent that is the problem. We still do not know who attacked who first. If the humans were the aggressors, then the troglodytes are innocent and should be within their right to punish their attackers according to their laws. We would have no issue with killing troglodytes for attacking us. We even recently executed a prisoner. I do not think we have any moral highground here and I am trying to decide how to have Solace act once this fight is over.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace swings again at Tanelin. I forgot about checking their alignment, but Solace will go ahead and use Smite Evil in the hopes that the troglodytes are evil. melee attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace is displeased. Though the law is certainly shit, we are weighing the lives of two people against a whole tribe. Are we going to kill them all now? Are there females and children as well in this tribe? Will any remaining troglodytes team up with the hobgoblins now?
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Damn it Falcon." Though she didn't want to start a fight with a whole tribe of Troglodyte, she would at least finish it. Solace whips out her axe and slashes at Tanelin. I am assuming that Solace was close enough to attack him since they were talking. melee attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace keeps a calm face as she replies to Tanelin. "We were discussing your method of trial. We have not heard of it before, though of course we have had no contact with your people before so that shouldn't really be a surprise. I am curious as to how often people judged by the stone prove their innocence?" Solace in genuinely curious about their rituals, but also wants to keep the trogdolyte talking while the group still tries to come to a decision.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"The way they explained it, if they make it back out of the hole they get to live. It's not a guaranteed death sentence. Do we think that they are strong enough to pass the test? I wonder if they would allow anyone else to take their place in the test?"
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace sighs and continues the quiet discussion. "We have no evidence yet they there were defending themselves. We can ask whoever they are calling the innocent one for her version of what happened, but right now it seems that if there is any chance in making a truce with these people, we have to let them carry out their sentence. We have to decide if a truce is worth the sacrifice. I also don't think we have any moral highground in this matter since we would be doing the same if our positions had been reversed."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"We know that the Hobgoblins have allies of other races doing some of their dirty work for them. Our people may have feared that you were working with the Hobgoblins and would report our location them and put our whole group in danger since we are currently too few to withstand a full attack from them yet again." This is not good. I'm assuming that sacrificing someone to a stone equals killing them.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Sided with the very creatures who chased us from our homes, killed half our families and enslaved the other half and who hunt down all of us who survived and escaped their attacks? I'm sure you don't think much of us, but we are nowhere near that stupid. We've come seeking other survivors of our village since we need all the help we can get to fight back against the hobgoblins and to find out who your band owes its allegiance to." diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace follows Falcon's logic and finishes his sentence. "...Then they won't both to check on them mushrooms making any noise and we can sneak by. I'm willing to give that a try."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace follows Alezandu's lead. "Protected how though. We can't be with every group that forages and we can't have all the other fighters out roaming with the foragers and leaving the main group unguarded."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace shrugs. "Why not attack us? Maybe with the Hobgoblins in the area they just can't find enough resources of their own and it is easier to take us out than to try to compete with the Hobgoblins. Maybe they just really don't like humans? Maybe our scouts fired first? There could be any number of reasons why."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace sighs unahppily and speaks quietly to her group. "If it was the Trogs that killed them, it pretty much kills any chance of trying to enlist their aid against the Hobgoblins." To the group at large she volunteers to check the area the missing were dragged off from. "We should head out right away while the tracks are still fresh if we hope to be able to find them."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace quietly waits to hear his answer to Claustipher's question. sense motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Were you trying to convince the Troglodytes to help the Hobgoblins kill humans? Are you aware of any other groups of survivors fleeing the Hobgoblins?"
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Which of those we do will depend upon the truthfulness of your answers. Are you in league with the Hobgoblins?" diplomacy to ask the question: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"We could just wait here until we can get him to awaken enough for questioning. Then we can decide whether or not to free him, transport him or simply do away with him."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
I'll be having limited internet access until Friday afternoon. Moving houses and will have to set up new internet.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
If Yorc is still standing on her turn, Solace will shoot another arrow at him. If he goes down before then, Solace will run over to his position and begin to tie him up in case he is not dead. ranged attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Worried about Yorc getting out of sight, Solace sprints ahead to try and catch up.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace darts 20 feet towards Yorc while keeping an eye out for anything else that may attack them and fires off an arrow at him. ranged attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Fully expecting both a trap and Yorc to try something, Solace was quick to grab an arrow and send it after the now fleeing Yorc even as she tried to keep an eye out for anyone attacking them. I don't know if i'm suppose to believe the bluff or not. ranged attack: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 3 = 18 +1 if within 30ft
Damn it! I hope we can avoid killing him, there's so much more I wanted to ask.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Are the Trogdolyte's group so much bigger than ours then? Do you think that there are enough of them to help stand against the Hobgoblins if they could be persuaded too?" Hmm, seems like we are heading towards the same hermit's cabin we've already been to. I wonder if he knew what was inside the cabin?
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Yes, we would like for you to lead us to the hermit's cabin." At least this will give us an excuse to keep you with us and talking for a while... "Would you be willing to share with us what you wanted the Troglodytes to help you with? If they were unwilling, perhaps we could work something out. We could certainly use some allies around here." Solace will move to follow Yorc if he begins to lead the way. Assuming that the hermit's cabin is the same one we know of, we'd know if he was leading us in the wrong direction, correct?
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"We are searching for a place to make camp for a while, do you know of any areas the hobgoblins have not explored yet or other human settlements that have not been attacked yet?" Not that I'd ever camp anywhere he told me too, but it could be useful to know what he would say and if we need to prepare a trap later......
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Have the Hobgoblin's taken over the Troglodytes homes or do they just fear that they are getting too close to them? Have they taken over your home as well? They've taken over more villages than just the one we hail from. I'm wondering about their total numbers if they've managed to overrun so many villages so successfully."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Though less than surprised, Solace is still disgusted by Falcon's news. Before they head over to Yorc, she comments: "Act like we know nothing and need his help. Perhaps we can learn something useful. If he suspects anything different though, we should kill him." Solace will head back over towards Yorc.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Bah, whatever, I bet we'll have to end up killing these Trogs later anyway. Not any better than hobgoblins, for all we know, they could even be working with them... I'll have to share that concern with the others when we are out of earshot. Solace scowls a bit, but will follow the others for now and remain non-aggressive.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
At Alezandu's command, Solace will place her arrow back in her quiver though she keeps her bow in her hand as she approaches his location. She remains quiet for now until she understands what is going on.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace readies her bow as she attempts to take cover behind a tree. stealth: 1d20 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 3 = 5 She may have hidden on the wrong side of the tree though....
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"That sounds like a good idea. Also, if they prove too numerous for us, we should at least leave that hobgoblins body near enough to it and leave a trail so that maybe the hobgobs will think the Trogs took out their scout instead of any survivors."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
After her conversation, Solace will wearily head to where she has her bedroll laid out for night. Likely at a location just far enough out from the mail groups that anything coming into camp would stumble upon her first.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace welcome Claustipher to the conversation and replies to Lorne's last comment. "I have been giving thought to possible rescue attempts back at the town, but I think that we may have to delay any such attempts until the spring at least. Our first thoughts will be shelter for us all throughout the winter and we may be hardpressed to find enough supplies to last us throughout it. And of course in winter we loose a lot of cover for trying to sneak up to the town and it would be impossible to hide all of our tracks in the snow."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace shrugs at Lorne's question. "They die just like anyone else does. That's about the only weakness I've noticed so far. It sounds like they are desperate for a place to call their own home and desperate people are often fierce fighters and are more likely to fight to the death versus retreating. We don't know their numbers or how many others might follow in their footsteps and come this way as well. The best we can hope for now is to just survive as best we can, help whoever we can and try to add to our numbers and band up with other survivors."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace will accept the arrows from Alezandu. "I agree that we need to head deeper into the forest, hopefully we can find a place further out then their scouts are willing to go. Northeast seems a reasonable direction to head in."
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
Solace will voice no objections to killing hobgoblin. After all, they can't let her go and they have no facilities to hold her prisoner in.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Who pushed you out of your lands? Couldn't you have just used your armies to push back rather than come and take ours?"
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"Well, some nicely smoked meat is a much better find than another undead creature. This should travel and keep well." Solace will begin the work of packing up the food for the travel back.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
"The shed? No..." Forgot about there even being a shed. Stupid undead things.... Solace will cautiously go and check out the shed, assuming that the others can handle one lone hobgoblin. With any luck, nothing else will jump out at me.
Female Human Witchwarper / 1
A bit shaken by the encounter, Solace takes a moment to gather herself and then to inspect the cabin to make sure that nothing else will be coming at the group from behind.
