The fact that katana is even comparable to pathetic Western swords is a disgrace.

Westerners were dumb idiots who would hammer a piece of metal and call it a sword. These zweihanders were basically planks of steel with no finesse or thought behind them. No wonders samurai would cut down European knights whenever they fought hahaha lmao

Katanas were forged by blind smiths who lived on the top of the highest mountains. Each one was unique. Each one had a special jitsu technique enhanced in it. My favourite is omnislash, like you would cut, but it would cut through every foe within a mile.

Katana should be 1d12 dmg, finesse, agile, deadly d20, fatal d20.

Just to speak of tradition: the thief (now rogue) was in the 3rd rank as a martial in AD&D.

The first rank were the cavalier, barbarian, fighter, and ranger.
Second rank the cleric, druid, bard, and monk.
The thief was the third rank and the wizard the fourth.

D&D/AD&D Thief/Rogue isn't meant to be the computer games Rogue that deals a lot of DPS. So if someone chooses to be a Rogue thinking he will be a DPS machine, he is playing the wrong game.

Back then we were Real Men who played Wizards with 1 HP but sadly today it's all video game kids who somehow think a Wizard with 6 HP is fine.

Bah, all those "rogue problems" are just cases of bad GMing. A good DM would set up some special challenges for the Rouge to solve while the rest of the party is fighting. Eg. in a battle with a dragon, the Rouge solves a puzzle in the room which is so easy with so many skill points.

Or you know what? Tucker's kobolds in tunnels. Thanks to their high Dex and again, lots of skill points, the Rouge will be so much more effective in such an environment. You can't swing your big bulky sword in narrow corridors Mr. Fighter, but a dazzling quick thrust from a Rouge's rapier will prevail.

Really, it's all about GMs not being creative, likely due to too much easy mode video games these days.

Bans remove a persons access to everything, including purchased PDFs. Suspensions only remove access to the forums. Suspensions are usually timed. But the timing has to be set, if it is not the suspension is indefinite until manually lifted. If the concern was that banned posters wouldn’t have access to purchased PDFs anymore a permanent suspension does the same thing while leaving PDF access.

Glad to know Gorbacz was never banned, as some have implied here or there! He has been merely stuck in a limbo of suspended animation, yet fully aware of his surroundings. Legends have it that when the stars are right and the days are counted, he shall no longer be lost in time and space, and will walk the information superhighway once again...
