Agreed. Vrog’s been around a long time. I’m sure something has come up.

Male, LN Half-Orc, Paladin 2nd/Barbarian 3rd | HPs 52 | AC: 16, 18 w Shield | Init: +2 | Saves S:+3, D:+0(adv**), C:+3, I:-1, W:+2, C:+4 | PP 10

where Gio and Io hidden with those stealth rolls? Or do they seem to be only aware of Gorum and Quen?

Male, LN Half-Orc, Paladin 2nd/Barbarian 3rd | HPs 52 | AC: 16, 18 w Shield | Init: +2 | Saves S:+3, D:+0(adv**), C:+3, I:-1, W:+2, C:+4 | PP 10

Are we waiting on someone to act? I’m moving toward the voices while Gio and Io stealthfully follow. Quen I would assume is following either stealfully or a few steps behind Gorum. Gorum will move forward cautiously. If the voices go quiet he will take the dodge action in anticipation of an attack on himself.

Male, LN Half-Orc, Paladin 2nd/Barbarian 3rd | HPs 52 | AC: 16, 18 w Shield | Init: +2 | Saves S:+3, D:+0(adv**), C:+3, I:-1, W:+2, C:+4 | PP 10

then instead of a cure wounds, Gorum would have used some hit dice to heal.

so Gorum would not come up with this but an idea here would be Gorum goes in to gain the attention of those in nearby and draws them into an ambush by the rest of the party. We should have a good idea of the hostility level of the unknown party by that time. In the interest of moving forward, Gorum will move ahead toward the voices. The rest of the party can hide and wait for the ambush or follow the Paladin.

He does heal up before going in though lol. Just looked at my current health. He will cast cure wounds on himself and Wuen if you could spare some healing for him as well that would be great.

Nature: 1d20 ⇒ 2

Gorum shakes his head and indicates he has no clue.

Gorum is usually for the direct approach. So I will let someone else take the mead here unless the direct approach is what we decide.

Lacking said individual that can speak to animals, Gorum crouches down and tries to beckon the Fox near him. ”Come’ere buddy” he says holding out a bit of dried jerk.

”She’s gone...” Gorum says solemnly. ”She is under Ilmater’s protection now. “ Gorum stands and surveys the gruesome scene. Wiping his seeping eye, the Paladin urges his companions into action. ”Gather the dead and protect the bodies with brush best we can quickly, we can’t waste time though. Others are dying.”

Gorum’s attention moves from looking for tracks to the laughter. ”I think she might have a broken mind.” he leans in forward toward the laughing woman, ”Can you tell us where you’re from?” Gorum asks, hoping the the woman can at least communicate in some fashion.

Gorum kneels by the sundered bodies of the victims. ”Seems the were after the hearts.” He seems to think hard on it for a sec ”Sounds like we have the beginnings of some nasty dark cult stuff. Too bad Mender took off. This would probably have been right in his wheel house.” Standing, Gorum tries to think if there is a town nearby where they might find more information.
History?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
He also starts looking around for tracks the might tell more of the story.

Yeah, it’s advantage for the turn and you can only activate it on your turn. Disadvantage lasts until your next turn. It’s ok. Reckless Attack is super strong.

Gio yelled at me!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
I like the strategy Gio, just luck was not with me on that one. Sucks I can’t use Reckless attacks for it

Gorum was expecting Giuseppe’s call and looks over his shoulder for a brief second as he swings.

sure Io will take it down

save vs poison, I’ll use inspiration per GM warning: 2d20 ⇒ (3, 7) = 10
not so great. Based on the poison damage Io took, ill roll the 4d6. Poison crit: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 5) = 15

I also showed myself at -11 Damage with resistance to the claws.
3 hits for 9, 9, and 6 totaling 11 after resist.
Still hit hard though at -26 Health after the poison.

was there poison damage for every hit or just the one?

Gorum with his eyes still glowing, takes the wicked claws in stride The ichor infecting the wounds though sees more affective in wounding the warrior as the veins under his flesh become visibly blackened and even while in his divine fury, he winces in pain.

The Paladin fights on through and swings out hard at one of the creatures remaining.

foucusing target with his allies, since Gorum is technicall ahead of Gio, Gorum sticks with Reckless Attack

Quen, I’m guessing they look like werewolves or gnolls or something along these lines. Either one is no bueno and Quen should act accordingly. If I’m wrong, I appologze,

oh no, Gorum would move to them. I was merely responding to your description of “they leap in your direction, weapons raised.” Gorum is quite happy to make their acquaintance with his own weapon.

@Gio, why would I have adv on initiative? @DM Any attacks on Gorum this turn so have AdV though due to my reckless attaacking.

Gorum is no stranger to brutality and is ready to meet the dog creatures as they attack.

Greataxe: 2d20 + 7 ⇒ (10, 20) + 7 = 37

I think it would be cool to get another person or two. Some fresh blood to interact with in the party, I’m good with the majority vote though.

So from a balance stand point, the adding of spells to your prepared a stable spells as well as on es a day is strong compared to some other abilities that are similar. I think 5 e needs to work hard to keep the power creep under control.

Gorum travels stoically with his friends, happy that Gio has made his way back and caught up with the company. He listened quietly as Giuseppe relays his adventure home but his attention snaps away at the piercing howl coming from the woods.
”Seems like you might get a chance to test that new blade of yours.”
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Gorum moves toward the noise hoisting his axe from its baldric. His blade‘s story, also new, would have to wait for another time.

Watching Mender fly away, Gorum, standing next to Io, arms folder over his sizeable chest, leans over and says ”and everyone thinks I’m the hard headed one around here.” Shaking his head and sighing,”I s’pose we’ll see him again one of these days. Who’s ready to head back to a real city? This farm country is starting to get old. Come on with us Quen the Witch Slayer, let us show you around a proper city.” Break into a grin, he claps Io on the shoulder and heads for the road.

Gorum enjoys not being the one to row for a change and smiles again at the newly set free woman. ”You’re a pretty good swimmer. Didn’t have to help you much at all.” Feeling the wetness of the water around his eye, he drags the back of his gnarled finger across the bottom of the eyelid as if wiping away a tear. He didn’t want to distress the Lady by letting her see the bloody sap ooze out of the socket.

He then turns to look toward shore. Something in the back of his mind is as telling him that this wasn’t over just yet.

Gorum pulls out another crab cake and begins eating while the others plan. ”Witch or no witch, this lady knows how to make crab cakes.”

Gorum is a man of action. If the plan is to free the time trapped lady and swim to freedom, the half or is game. If the plan is to sit here and get mired in our own form of time stasis, Gorum is not OK with that. You have until our supply of crab cakes runs out to decide,.

According to Io’s stat block, no trained Arcana. I was hoping maybe you had it Mender.

Startled a little at first Gorum instinctively puts his hand on his axe handle. Then seeing the creature and hearing it ask for food, Gorum shrugs and nods to the creature. ”Yeah sure, you gotta tell us what’s goin on around here though. “ he says as he produces a slightly damp crab cake from one of his pouches. ”Sorry, it got a little wet on our way down.”
