I am good to continue on, or forge ahead with alternate plans. I have been in a few PBPs at this point and this is actually the first one I have participated in that had a drop out. I believe this has more to do with the nature of First Steps than anything to do with your ability to DM, so do not take that the wrong way Fortuna. I thoroughly enjoyed your portrayal of the scenario, but due to how First Steps is set up, your hand is kind of forced.

To back up Cedrick here, there is actually a pretty good mix of scenarios. It is kind of necessary to do a little research before purchasing them to figure out whether you bought a dungeon crawl or rp scenario. I personally ran a group all the way from Master of the Fallen Fortress through part 4 of Eyes of the Ten. My group leaned very heavy towards the roll-play side of things over role-play, so I tried to run 75% dungeon crawls and throw the occasional role-play scenario in there to spice it up.

No matter what we decide to do from this point, I would like to thank you for taking the time to run this scenario for us Fortuna. I am usually behind the screen and any opportunity to get to play a character is greatly appreciated, thanks!

"I have a very bad feeling about this. I am a healer and guardian, not a thief."

"This job seems a bit underhanded, don't you think? I wonder why the society would be working with these types of people."

Simon takes a look at everyone to see if there is anything he can do for the poison and heals damage before allowing them to head to the docks.

Simon runs through the door behind Aesantiel, making sure to keep out of the way of the door so the others can prevent the imp entrance to the room.

Simon makes a grab for the box, then stands as close to the 3 more martially inclined people as possible.
"We will need to return this. Hostilities need not continue if you do not wish them to."
He says aloud to the imp.

Simon steps forward to assist Aesantiel with keeping the imp in the sheets.

Simon takes a 5 foot step into the room, draws his spear (move), and casts Bless(standard).

"May Sarenrae's light guide you"
Simon speaks aloud to the group, as he steps into the room and draws his longspear off his back.

Simon winces and keeps quiet, not wanting to get dragged into an argument between the two.

Simon senses Cedrick's discomfort and attempts to speed up the transaction.

"You are correct in the fact that we are here for an item that was loaned to you from our vaults. I'm not here for a debate on theologies and we must really be on our way. If you would please return this item we will be on our way an let you get back to..."

Simon pauses so as to not be drowned out by the crashing noises in the next room.

"...whatever it is you are doing in there."

On a side note, it is so hard to resist making a "Paint me like one of your French girls." joke here. It would be so out of character for Simon.

Simon states offhandedly to the painter.

Simon continues his casting of mage hand to pull the key down from the ceiling. Failing that he pulls the line holding it taut making it easier for a blade to cut.

Simon heals the snakebite channeling positive energies from Sarenrae.

Casting Mage Hand.
He then casts a spell and attempts to lift the key from the basket and from the liquid in turn and deposit them on the floor.

"I joined up to make sure all my allies return home safely. I know all too well what it is like sitting at home waiting for a loved one to return, and never seeing them again. It is my calling to make sure no one else has to suffer through the same."
Simon confides with Cedrick, obviously upset by something.

Simon responds to Cedrick, as he closely watches Elross lifting the jar.
"I'm just a little eager to get out in the field. One step at a time I suppose."

"Well I suppose the test is to get the chests open. I'll have to admit, I am not much of a locksmith. Although I don't mind the cool air at all. Reminds me of being back up north, as opposed to the oppressive heat that seems to linger in this area."

Had a great time. Played a lot of high level society games. Met Tracy Hickman and Monte cook. Saw a couple of cool bands. Checked out the new Gears of War game. Way too much to relay here, but those were pretty much the highlights.

We were sent here by the temple of Sarenrae to assess the validity of some rumors about Miss Baltwin, and ensure the safety of the children under her care. Is there anything you can tell us about Baltwin that would assist us? Maybe about these mean streaks? We are here to help."
