Shirraj, now having the appearance of a calishite woman who has seen a lot of physical labor, looks over the paper before putting down the name Aisha Hareem in simple but curved letters.

"How about an elegant tabaxi lady from a faraway land? You would be the talk of the party." Shirraj sidles up to Jake and hooks under his arm. "Or I would."

"I'd much prefer to be seen. I know how to talk to people and keep their attention."

"It will do to impersonate a delivery worker. My specialty is not so much staying out of sight as it is drawing the attention," she pauses for emphasis "away from others."

"My true face is an asset just as much as any mask I may don."

Shirraj mutters a few words raising a hand and her countenance is replaced with that of a raven-haired half-elven man with short black hair dressed in simple workers clothing: "Changing faces is an easy task." the man says, before the illusion falls apart and gives way to Shirraj's feline appearance once again.

"Hiding in plain sight is more likely to help us remain undetected. We will want to make sure we are not recognized at the party later."

Shirraj's eyes dart between the congregated people looking for any sign of recognition of this mask: "Does anyone know more about the mask? Also is there more you can tell us about the layout of this abode?"

Shirraj returns the smile "Neither do I. Or at least, I wouldn't know. Either way I don't think it would be smart wasting any trying to find out. And anyway, the surprise to find I have them when I need one, it would be priceless!", she really seems to enjoy the idea.

Shirraj's head tilts sideways curiously. She doesn't appear to be aware of the idiom Jake is referencing. "What an odd question. Do you?"

"And yet here you are, talking about 'the craft' as though no one could be listening in?" a smooth female voice says in an accent enunciating the rolling 'R's and an amused tone.

A short but lean lady with feline features, blueish grey striped fur, and a flaring bunch of silver hair on hear head steps up to the booth. A long tail trails out from underneath the colorful skirt of purple, orange and green tatters she's wearing. Black tights and simple, light leather boots cover what is visible of her legs and a simple leather jerkin over an equally featureless longsleeved purple tunic dress is worn on her upper body. A rapier is sheathed at her side, next to a dagger. Her right hand clutches a red violin and bow.

She bows deeply to the whole group in a graceful, fluid motion: "Shirraj Silverclaw." she says. A wide smile beams across her face, revealing sharp canine teeth and one of her cat ears twtiches.

Sorry for being late to the party!

Hooray! I'll see about the unfinished backstory.

Threeshades here. This is my character so far. Backstory isn't done yet. What you find in the alias was written for a different campaign, I have yet to do a full rewrite there.

Shirraj Silverclaw

• Catfolk
• Bard (no multiclass planned)
• Feats: Weapon finesse
• Traits: Touched by Divinity (Desna), Signature Moves (Violin)
• Physical appearance: Height 4' 7"; Weight 95 lbs.; Silver Hair, Golden yellow eyes, Blue-grey striped fur, has a long and thick tail, she is small and lean, wears a simple, light leather jerkin over a long sleeved short purple tunic dress, the skirt of which partially covers a longer, flaring and wild pixie-style skirt held in various shades of purple, orange, yellow and green. Black tights and simple light leather boots cover what is visible of her legs.
• Personality traits: Inquisitive, Outgoing, Carefree, social, humorous, likes hearing and telling stories, entertaining and making other people happy, lacks a sense of self-worth and sees her value in Desna's glory
• Short biography: Shirraj grew up in an isolated tribe deep in the continent of Garund. Hearing many stories of great peril and adventure she formed a fascination with the world north of her home. She eventually set out to find these places driven by Desna's hand and a need to make a positive change in the world. On her travels Shirraj picked up many skills and talents the most important to her being her music, which she feels is one of the best ways to worhsip. She eventually heard the terrible stories of the Worldwound concluded that this was the place the hand of Desna was guiding her to.
• Alignment: Chaotic Good; Shirraj's alignment stems in no small part from her lack of self-confidence. Feeling her life amounting to nothing in her isolated home she had a need to make a positive influence in a world she had heard much about but never really seen. She turned to Desna to whom she always had a connection and from whom she draws her purpose in life. Her good alignment deviates from her tribe which was mainly neutral, only concerned with its own survival. She attributes it to Desna's positive influence but doesn't understand that she can be and always was moral even without the Godess's guiding hand.
• Mythic Path: Marshal (I realize this does not correspond with my campaign trait, but the character I envision wouldn't make sense with the either the Marshal's trait or the Hierophant Path)

4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 5) = 21 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 1) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 1) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5) = 14 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 6) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 1) = 15 14

I'll gladly take it. 27 Pb

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I would like to put Shirraj up for consideration. I will post the detailed form later when I have some time, and will also have to heavily modify her to conform with the rules here.

Congrats everyone.

Back to the drawing board for me.

BACKGROUND:
Having grown up among the Silverclaw tribe deep in southern Garund, Shirraj spent most of her life oblivious to the terrible threat of the demons pouring from the Worldwound in the distant north.
She loved spending her youth learning about stories and legends from strangers. However she felt her life amounting to nothing among her small reclusive tribe, which gnawed on her selfconfidence. She decided to commit her life to something larger and turned to Desna and even before coming of age Shirraj left her tribe behind to travel in her Godess's name and learn more about the worlds and its legends. Travelling further and further north Shirraj picked up many stories and a fascination for music. She found the best way to worship Desna was to create music herself by learning to sing, dance and play the violin, a curious instrument travellers from the far north gave her.
Curious of the culture of the travellers' homelands Shirraj travelled further north to Avistan, where she first heard tales of the rift to the Abyss known as the Worldwound.
Fascinated and horrified by the tales and hearing that another Crusade Shirraj went on further to see this place herself and help however she can to beat back the demon horde. On her way she learned all she could about the nether plane of the abyss and its denizens.

APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY:
Appearance: This comparatively short but lean catfolk girl has silvery hair worn in a flaring bunch behind her head and a blue-grey striped coat of fur. She wears a finely wrought chain-shirt over a long sleeved short purple tunic dress, the skirt of which partially covers a longer, flaring and wild pixie-style skirt held in various shades of purple, orange, yellow and green. Black tights and simple light leather boots cover what is visible of her legs.
From her belt hang a sheathed rapier, a buckler and a magic wand next to a small pouch. She rests a finely made violin on her shoulder the bow in her other hand ready to play.

Personality: Shirraj is a bright, inquisitive girl. Even for a catfolk she is outgoing and carefree. She gets along well with others and tends to have a sense of humor about most things. She likes to entertain and make others smile and enjoys hearing and telling stories.
Despite her demeanor Shirraj lacks a sense of self-worth, she committed herself to Desna and her faith gives her the purpose and confidence that she lacks on her own.

MYTHIC PATH/CHARACTER PLANS:
Marshal;
as for class i expect to stick strictly with bard focussing on support, I do plan on getting Dervish Dance so I can deal some damage myself if I have to.

RP SAMPLE:

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

"If you would promise to be accurate, aiming for that window, I'd be willing to try.", Shirraj's amused smile bares needle-sharp teeth.

"You all need to lighten up, there's still plenty of time to be worried and serious on the battlefield. Right now raising their spirits is how we can best help all these people."

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Sirraj smiles coyly before picking up her song again and elegantly whirling around the man on the table with her. Whatever shyness on her face was nowhere to be found in her movements.

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

As her song proceeds the Catfolk skips from one table to the next eventually ending up on Ulfr's table as the song draws to its finale. The last note ends abruptly and she bows to the crowd and then bends backwards a grin beaming from her now upside-down face at the skald.

"Thanks! I've lifted the spirits of many people with my music before but it never felt quite like this. I'm Shirraj Silverclaw."

Shirraj goes on to play another cheerful tune, just loud enough to fill the background in the tavern as she follows the Ulfen to the bar.

"Those fiends won't know what hit them!" Shirraj responds to Bertholdt, loud enough for everyone to hear: "We're going to make them think we opened that wound to take their home!"

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

A pair of slender legs clad in black tights and light boots dangling from above are joined by a long grey-blue and black striped tail gently unfurling downwards. "Such a drab mood in here" Above the crowd on a ceiling joist sits a young catfolk girl with silver hair wearing a purple tunic dress under a set of studded leather armor and a colorful flaring skirt.

She skips off her perch landing in the crowd and brandishes a bow and violin of clearly superior craftsmanship. Carefully placing the bow in the strings of the instrument, she produces two drawn out notes. Then with a dancer's graces jumps onto the next table, to observe the patrons for a moment, a short string of several fast notes follows, underlined by a swing of her hip trailed by her long tail. The Catfolk shoots a wink at the large Ulfen in the corner and looks meaningfully at his drum before before slowly starting to play an accelerating tune on her violin and moving her feet and hips to the rhythm of her tune.

though I think I'll be setting up a thread for those who want to RP with the others. I know that puts some people off, but I enjoy it as a player and a GM.

Ah that should work perfectly for me.

That is an avalanche of applicants.

Anyway, in which format should we give you an RP example?

Should we just come up with a scene and play it out with our character?

Threeshades's character submission

Catfolk Bard, going for Marshal.

Backstory and crunch are in the alias's profile page.

I might still add a few items to my inventory, my gold isn't spent yet.

RP sample coming up.

Threeshades's submission. Still reworking the character because I had to level her down first.

Okay, only need to put together the background and the traits now.

Alright, looking over Shirraj. You are almost solid mechanically. You have no background or traits and your equipment is not marked off your gold yet. I believe you did your skill ranks wrong, as you have the wrong Perform at 13. You've baked the bread with only a few minor missteps, but have yet to put any jam on it. Though as a catfolk, you get access to the awesome avatar. :P

first i accidentally put the bonus into sing, then i moved it to apparently the wrong perform again.

The equipment and background aren't finished yet.

Threeshades's character so far.

Really? It's been too long since I last took a close look at the actual casting rules I guess. Okay let's retcon it so that I only made one new torch arrow, and didn't distribute any

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

After sheathing her sword and Picking up her bow, Shirraj draws another arrow and enchants it with light, this time keeping it in her hand as an improvised torch. She prepares three more glowing arrows and hands them out to Killian, Isilma and Horgus. "It is better we have a few light sources at hand just to be prepared.", she looks at the slain mongrelfolk: "I would not want to engage more of these traitors at half strength either. Sinjin and I are still able to press on, but if you need to rest, we will take watch."

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

"Sinjin, attack!" Shirraj instructs her companion while charging the remaining mongrel.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Sorry for my lack of response earlier. The actons you did in my stead are fine though. I'll make sure not to miss my next turn.

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Having just shot an arrow shirraj will probably be having the front seat in this. Sinjin will be as close as possible, other PCs get priority here.

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj draws an arrow from her quiver and invokes an orison, upon which the feathers start to glow with a dim light, as she readies her bow she turns to the group: "I think we should be careful here. Those of us in full fighting condition go at the front."

She turns back and fires the glowing arrow into the darkness ahead.

On the off chance it wasn't clear, I cast light on the arrow and shot it forward to illuminate the path ahead.

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj's smile vanishes, "I have seen truly wicked creatures before. I have had encounters with the evil of the denizens of the abyss. You've shown yourself to be nothing like them, Mulluq'Tar. If truly you were such a vile creature, would you really attempt to be good. Demons are at peace with their own evil, they wouldn't care to try to be different.", she looks at Mulluq sternly, but also with worry in her eyes, "You strive to be good, as much as any righteous person would. To me this means you are good," she turns to Lysbeth now "Both of you proved this. You don't let your ancestry, but your actions define who you are, and by our actions only shall we be judged."

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj who has been following the conversation with a curious, almost puzzled look on her face, simply smiles warmly at Lysbeth's words, she pats Killian on the shoulder and keeps walking in silence.

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj, who has observed the conversation curiously so far, interjects: "We are all children, even when we grow up we might make mistakes, it is in feeling sincere guilt that shows that we may be forgiven for our misdeeds. Only those who show no remorse are villains. Even for hating them I would not fault you, young elf, if you hate them for the wrong they did, it is a righteous feeling."

After Killian puts his arm around her shoulder, she smiles: "Back to Neathholm."

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj's smile fades momentarily as she looks around the others. "Well, nobody got physically hurt and this will not heal the affects of the creature's cry.", she smiles again "I only have a few scratches, I can sleep it off, but you are badly hurt. Now stop being so humble and hold still."
She lays her hand onto the wound on Mulluq's stomach and lets the energy flow into him.

Shirraj casts the blood off of her blade by swinging it to the side and puts it back into its sheath. As sinjin comes up to her, she pets his head and lauds him in her language. She turns to Mulluq: "You fight bravely, but you shouldn't try to take such a beast alone. No reason to get yourself killed," she pauses, "You're hurt. Perhaps I can help.", she smiles at him as the light of positive energy shines form her hand.

Shirraj casts cure light wound but holds the charge until Mulluq agrees to be healed.

I'm going to assume Sinjin acts on (or after, which wouldnt make much difference) my initiative since I only now ordered him to interfere

Shirraj shifts her footing to deliver an upward slash to follow up on her previous attack.

Again with the power attack and all that

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 20

Damage: 1d10 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 = 18 forgot to add the bardic perfomrance bonus to damage previously

Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Quill damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

You're right, fixed it. I didn't see that you were taking a step towards the flank. I'll call in the dinosaur anyway

female Tabaxi Bard 3 | HP (21/21) | AC 14 | Saves Str -1, Dex +5, Con +1, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +5 | Init +3 | Perc +2 PassPerc 12

Shirraj takes a step to the side to bring the beast between her and mulluq and swings her sword around form the other side to attempt to connect again. Shirraj turns toward her animal companion for a moment: "Sinjin! Flank!"

Taking mirrored step to mulluq's to flank, Power attack again, plus bard song

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 15 which i think would qualify as a hit

damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Handling Sinjin to flank: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

so sinjin would come in next to either him or me whichever is the closer. Does he act directly after me or on his own initiative next turn?

Quill defense Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

On it

"I'm sorry, friend, but we need more than arrows to bring it down." Shirraj says to Mulluq as she raises her blade and charges forward, swinging at the quilled beast. However her attack as if to spite her misses the beast altogether.

Charge and power attack against the howler. I hope we are close enough, so my AC is down by 2 until my next turn

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

So I miss, I'm not sure if I still get hit by the quill defense (does strike mean hitting it or does it also mean just attacking regardless of wether you hit?), I will just roll anyway and apply the results if you confirm it Leinathan
