so, the description says:
Quote: Effect: Wall of whirling blades up to 20 ft. long/level, or a ringed wall of whirling blades with a radius of up to 5 ft. per two levels; either form is 20 ft. high
An immobile, vertical curtain of whirling blades shaped of pure force springs into existence. Any Creature passing through the wall takes 1d6 points of Damage per Caster Level (maximum 15d6), with a Reflex save for half Damage.
If you evoke the barrier so that it appears where creatures are, each Creature takes Damage as if passing through the wall. Each such Creature can avoid the wall (ending up on the side of its choice) and thus take no Damage by making a successful Reflex save.
My DM is making it a shaped wall to catch the most players in the wall, but my brain keeps stuttering over the difference between a "wall" and a "zig-zagging line". I'm not finding anything that specifically calls out that walls are straight lines, but every post I've read seems to assume that that's just what a wall is. Thoughts?

I've been trying to figure out which in game *year* this starts. I thought at first it was 4712ish (can't recall why), but then in the 2nd book I found a mention of things happening in 4716, but not sure how long before the start of the game that was.
My husband pointed out that there are no creatures of less than one hit die in the PRD, but the rules for Wounds & Vigor say:
Quote: Creatures with one or more full Hit Dice or levels gain vigor points... A creature with less than one Hit Die has no vigor points; it only has wound points. What are we missing?
As I'm reading it, the "Goblin Warrior" (a CR 1/3) entry in the PRD bestiary would go from having 6 HP to having 24 Wounds and a d10 of Vigor because of the NPC Warrior class. A level 1 fighter, on the other hand, would have roughly equivalent Wound pool and 10 Vigor points, which makes for a significant increase in the Goblin's danger, seeing as it's far less likely to drop before it does damage to the fighter.
Is this intentional?

Nuku wrote: Looks good to me, but note it only does this once per round. If you're eligible for multiple attacks/round, and want to use them, its usefulness will be hampered. *nods* Yep. My husband pointed that out, too. He said when he read the spell the first time thru he thought it was intended that you have two ranged weapons and switch between the two - fire, hand to the hands, draw 2nd ranged weapon, next turn fire, swap, rinse & repeat.
And then I was just now looking into the Weapon Special Abilities in UE, and saw ...
Quote: ENDLESS AMMUNITION
Price +2 bonus; Aura moderate conjuration; CL 9th; Weight —
Only bows and crossbows can be made into endless ammunition weapons—firearms and other projectile weapons cannot. Each time an endless ammunition weapon is nocked, a single nonmagical arrow or bolt is spontaneously created by the magic, so the weapon's wielder never needs to load the weapon with ammunition.
If the wielder attempts to load the weapon with other ammunition, the created arrow or bolt immediately vanishes and the wielder can load the weapon as normal. This ability does not reduce the amount of time required to load or fire the weapon. The created arrow or bolt vanishes if removed from the weapon; it persists only if fired. Unlike normal bow and crossbow ammunition, these arrows and bolts are always destroyed when fired.
Which puts me right back to, "Should I let the spell negate the load time?"
(I'm inclined to it because it's for a limited time, but with a +2 enh. specifically *not* ... eh?)

Does the spell "Reloading Hands" negate the reload time for crossbows?
Quote: Reloading Hands Spell description
Level: magus 2, ranger 2, sorcerer/wizard 2
Target: projectile weapon touched
Duration: 1 round/caster level (D)
Once per round, phantom hands load a single ranged weapon or firearm with conjured ammunition. This ammunition counts as magical for overcoming damage reduction and attacking incorporeal creatures, but is the standard for its type (a normal bullet or pellets and black powder in the case of firearms). Conjured ammunition ceases to exist 1 round after it is removed from the weapon, or at the end of the duration, whichever comes first.
Quote: Weapons section of Ult. Equipment (used a browser search for "Crossbow")
crossbows and slings require an action for reloading (as noted in their descriptions).
I am inclined to say "Yes" because it's a 2nd level spell, and add that while the spell is handling the reloading, there's no Attack of Opportunity provocation for reloading, but firing while threatened still provokes AoOs.
Is that reasonable? Any thing I else I should be taking into consideration?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Should Adobe adjust their security features to provide finer control options, we'll revisit that feature. This brings me sorrow. While I love the artwork, I would be more willing to pay the higher price for a reusable full featured (image free) PDF than for a single use, can-you-read-my-chicken-scratch-I-mean-writing, piece of paper, no matter how beautifully illustrated.
In fact, I might even be willing to pay the higher price for a folio with the reference material while using my (typed up) fan-sourced character sheets, assuming it was the same size as the two pocket standard business sized folios. Example from Staples
The more I think about it, the folio would be more like a player's version of the GM screen, and the PDF of that has been a good on-the-tablet reference doc.
So, are the reference tables all on the covers, or interspersed throughout the character sheet? Basically, if you didn't want to use the pages, would it be worthwhile to unstaple them and use the folio that way?

In my OP I specified gloves of Dex and mithral gauntlets (that bypass DR/silver). They each provide a separate and distinct benefit. I think, by the RAW, that they shouldn't stack for that reason. Just like wearing two cloaks or two amulets.
However, only one of the items (the gloves) are magical. So as I said, I think I'm going to allow non-mundane items to stack in the same body slot as long as only one of them is magical.
The book specifically states that armor sets are made so that boots and gauntlets can be switched out. But you're talking about doing damage with them gauntlets, which makes it seem that you're talking about *spiked* gauntlets, which as weapons would go over gloves.
We're running into an interesting situ in game tonight and I'm looking for other folks opinions.
1. Does Countersong counter the Suggestion spell?
2. Can Telepathic Bond be used to communicate Inspire Courage?
Quandary wrote: Shaybee, if you want to SEE what changes Paizo has done, just tell your friend that they can download the latest updated PDF directly from Paizo if they indeed bought the PDF from Paizo. Everytime Paizo updates their PDFs, you can re-download the latest update for free. FYI, apparently a signifigant update sounds like it is coming out in the next month or 2 or 3. Cool! I'll poke and see if I can get him to re-download then. =) about the only thing he uses the PDF for is full-text searching, so the bookmarks haven't been an issue for him. I'm not sure if he's aware that there's been errata added, and I'll make sure he knows that the 3rd publishing will have more.
Thank you!
Question: I bought the book from a gamer store, and I am considering buying the PDF, but one of my friends had it from the subscription, and the bookmarks in it were horribly wankers. Since half the reason to get the PDF is faster flip throughs, bookmarks that aren't organized well and don't go where they're supposed to is a pretty big issue for me.
Have the bookmarks been fixed in the PDF since the original launch?
