Hmmmm, it's been twenty-six days since DMoG has posted in any of their games. I'm starting to get a little nervous...

no, I feel weird taking it, go ahead and use it. I'm sure there will be other weapons down there...

Agreed, in the morning we are heading back.

Good plan

hmmmm, wasn't thinking when I made the comment about 'magical' weapons, Seljak does have an Amulet of Mighty Fist, if he uses his reach weapon it will give him a greater range of defense. The sword would be used some but he wouldn't start the fight with it.

Any thoughts?

Also, once GM answers about Ting's gear, we need to rest, then be under way, yes?

As a personal opinion, I prefer to use the gear we find until we find something better, so using the ring and sword only make sense.

Just double checking DMoG, I don't care either way, just want to know?

Malinor. wrote:
"I could hold onto the sword until we can sell it. I can use it and lack a magical melee weapon." Malinor says.

As does Seljak, but he was not with you when you found it

So officially, do we have to leave tings gear with him, or can we sell/keep it?

Raising an eyebrow when the elf displaces the magical ring and fine looking longsword, Seljak chuckles. "Not a problem."

Grunting, as Malinor leads the way back to the inn, Seljak chuckles at Wyran's question. Slowing a step so he could walk beside the Shaman, "Sadly, Wyran follower of Desna, Ting was closest thing to a brother." Smiling a ghastly smile that pinches and pulls the scar, causing his left eye to squint as he shows the sharp teeth near his unbroken tusk. "I am pretty good at hitting as well, we shall find out which is better."

Smiling slightly, "Just like ting, acting like it was all about the loot, when really he just wanted to help find the little girl."

As the angelic gunslinger explained the different types of creatures they'd faced, Seljak nods sagely. Looking from the Malinor to the elf then the human, he pats his fauchard. "It's good I brought weapons."

Perceiving the group was somewhat worn, he asks. "Let us leave in the morning, where will you rest for the evening? I will help keep watch."

Seeing the body of his longtime friend, Seljak nodded, patting the dead bird on his beak. "Goodbye Ting." Turning to the others, "When do we leave?"

Malinor. wrote:
Eh...however you see him acting works.

It's always different each time...

Shoot Malinor, Seljak usually refers to himself in the third person but is normally several IQ points dumber. I decided to not play him quite so stupid. Now if he refers to himself in the third person he just sounds like Gnasher. I should probably play his speech a little more straight forward.

The big half-orc's brow furrows, his eyes squint as he gives a low growl. "I would like to see body, then go with you to deal with cult."

Seeing Wyran begins talking to the woman, the enormous half orc leans in and seems to ask the barkeep a question. Setting down his stein he turns picking up his weapon from where it was leaning against the bar. As he moves out of the shadows, Wyran and anyone else with him notices the fellow.

A tall, thick, dark green half orc, with black hair worn short, like the bristles on a boar. His most prominent feature a scar that runs across his face, creasing his forehead, between his bloodshot black eyes, ruining his wide flat nose, chipping off his left tusk at two inches, (juxtaposed against the other ivory beauty standing four inches,) and marring his square jaw. His gear is well kept, the breastplate oiled and cleaned, the expensive rucksack high on his shoulders, a silvered maul tucked in a frog across his back and a fauchard resting casually on his shoulder and he moves like he knows how to handle himself.

Stopping near, he nods first to the woman, then looks at Wyran. "Pardon me" His conversation rough, as his lip pinches at the scar. "Me Seljak friend of Ting Ting Ting." He gestures back towards the bar, "Bartender said you travel with Ting." He shruggs, "But Seljak not see Ting with you. Him tell me to meet him here, said big adventure to be had." He furrows his brow, causing the scar on his nose to twist. "Where Ting?"

Saw were back in town I will get a post up for Seljak in the morning.

Heading back to town? Is this game still on?

Hmmmm our GM is active in one other game and he posted in it on Monday. I thought we were waiting on 'Lefty' to respond to the information provided. I'm in another game with him and sent him a Direct Message on that games discussion board (slack) and he's not responded yet.

So having trouble telling how interested everyone is. But maybe this is just going to be one of those really slow games...

So what are you folks doing?

DMoG please take a look at Seljak, tell me if you see anything awry.

I'll get a quick backstory explaining traits, how he met ting, and why he was late arriving.

Again, folks, don't feel like you have to be in a hurry to return to town. It's my fault I got ting killed; you shouldn't have to feel rushed due to my error.

OK, a Barbarian it is. Seljak will have been a friend that Ting invited to join them. But got sidetracked after a brawl and a week in lock up. So, he will get to the 'Ferry' as quickly as he could. He will be very sad to hear his best friend died and want revenge.

I'll have the crunch done tomorrow, but do not rush on my account.

Would mage hand be able to take a line of some sort down and tie it to the magical item to drag it up?

Turning from the scene outside the window, Seljak looks at Lazastrahd, blinking his eyes as if the dark-elf had slapped him. Seljak wasn't used to making decisions. As a matter of fact, most of the folks Seljak knew told him it was better if he let the other people make decisions for him. He paused scratching his head, as an agent he knew he would eventually be in situations where he would need to make decisions. He just hadn't thought it would be on the second day.

Looking from Lazastrahd's pistol to his shotgun, he furrowed his brow for a second. Resolving the revolver was more accurate from a distance than the shotgun, he decides. "You stay in the wagon and I will move towards Agents Bones' location."

Nodding to his fellow agent, Seljak reached across and opened the carriage door on the side facing Warlock. Turning the tiny handle with his sausage sized fingers he slipped out the door, shot gun in his right hand, closing the door as he exited he started to move towards his fellow agent and the criminal carnies.

Not exactly sure where Egorian is, Seljak nods looking from Lazastrahd, hanging out the window facing the road, then out the other window, facing the camping dangerous carnival folks, towards Warlock. Not exactly sure what else to do, checks his shot gun which was still loaded. Then asking Lazastrahd, "Do you see anything. The crooked carnies don't seem to be worried. Maybe their friends with the Hellknights."

Seeing the house centipede crawling up the side of the carriage, Seljak realizes it's Warlock's pet. Nodding politely to the centipede, he takes the note, clearing his throat, he reads it aloud. "Oh joy Hellknight's ahead."

Looking quizzically at Lazastrahd he asks, "Do you think it's a code? Maybe he's in trouble." He looks out the window to where his fellow agent was still conversing with the dangerous carnival people. "I hope he's ok, he does look like he's having fun."

Looking out the window of the carriage towards Warlock's antics, Seljak smiles, looking back towards Lazastrahd "I'm glad Agent Bones was able to entertain them a little." Remembering he hadn't eaten since breakfast Seljak starts rummaging through his pack looking for a little dried meat and cheese.

Just a little fluff :)

'Show them your normal?' Looking from the man who was only a little shorter than himself to the very small gnome, Seljak gulped, "Oh Bother." How was he supposed to be something he wasn't? All his life his parents had told him he wasn't normal. That he needed to remember to be careful when dealing with folks. Hearing Lazastrahd whispering in his ears didn't help, how could a giant green orc alleviate someone's fears?

Pondering Lazastrahd, hiding in the carriage and Warlock doing card tricks. Turning to Khardon, "Age... Mr Dourstone, you are the most 'normal' of us, maybe you could go eat with the carnival folks." He nodded politely to the man and gnome. "I'll take care of the horses and help Mr Lazasrahd."

Forgetting about the wood he had gathered and building a fire, Seljak went and checked on the horses, then climbed in the wagons cramped interior, look at Lazastrahd. "Yeah, that was really uncomfortable."

As he returned from gathering wood, Seljak looked towards the two carnival folks. Hearing Lazastrahds message, his face turned sour. 'Get rid of them? How?' Looking from Lazastrahd to Khardon, Seljak blinks and smiles, looking past the two towards Warlock. Hoping the gregarious agent would help, He blinked again "I'm Seljak."

His stomach started to growl as he tried to convince himself as well as them that he wasn't hungry. "Um I'm not very hungry." Put down the wood he'd gathered, he looks at the two and shrugs. "Besides, I don't have a musical instrument." He looks at the two, "And my father says I can't carry a tune in a bucket." He gives an honest smile, at least that part was true.

bluff (about being hungry): 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6

'Well, agent Dourstone is much more wise than I am.' Looking wistfully at agent Bones as his friend entertains the new people, Seljak ods his head in agreement with the elder agent and turns to follow Lazastrahd assuming the drow ad left to gather wood for the fire.

Watching from the corner of his eye as Agent Bones went to make friends with the traveling performers, Seljak continued caring for the four horses. While the horses drank, he removed the harnesses, placing them in the box on the back of the carriage. AFter the horses had drank, he hobbled them let them graze while he joined the rest of the agents. Asking, "Shall we asks Agent Bones' friends if we can share their fire, or should we build one of our own?"

A new TV show?

copied and pasted in my games
Hmmm, it’s been four days, still no power, went to the mother-in-laws for a couple of hours to do laundry, so will get a post up…

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

As the carriage comes to a halt, Seljak climbs down from his seat and opens the door for agents Lazastrahd and Dourstone. As he moves to unhitch the horses to water then he observed the wagon train. While he had gone camping many times with his father, he had never seen how an actual wagon train would set up camp.

Nodding as agent Dourstone comments about the girl, Seljak chuckles when the dwarf comments about getting Agent bones a 'token.'

Sorry, my posts are going to be a little thin for a while. We had a tornado work it's way through our county Monday night. Over 15,000 lost electrical service. The electric company is telling everyone they should have everyone’s power back by Friday. So I am using my wife’s work laptop to post from my mother in laws house. All of my documents and such are on my desk top at home, so I apologize if the posts are a little simplistic.

Realizing it's the same girl, Sariel, pleased that she was hale and whole start to waives. Realizing she had turned and slipped down the alley, he frowns turning to Driver Bones, "She's gone again, she's quick for a girl."

As they pass through the city gate, Seljak notices the small camp and it's lookout. Waiving at the lookout he watches for any identifying features that might let him know who the campers are.

knowledge: local: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Sitting up on the coach's drivers bench, Seljak notices the girl selling flowers. Turning to Agent Bones, he asks, "Hey does that look like the same girl to you?" He scratches his head, "Should we stop and buy flowers?"

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

I was sort of hoping someone else would post, so I didn't go before and after the GM :(
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Remembering he had called 'Shotgun' Seljak accepts the mape from Ms Silverleaf. Smiling he nodded, "Than you Ma'am." Moving out to the carriage he looked at Khardon and Lazastrahd observed. "When I recommended we split up I was thinking we'd use a normal wagon. It might easier for us all to go in the carriage instead of split up."

'Graxthor, Cregnatz, Cha'i-GalGoth, and Phillip; Graxthor, Cregnatz, Cha'i-GalGoth, and Phillip; Graxthor, Cregnatz, Cha'i-GalGoth, and Phillip; Graxthor, Cregnatz, Cha'i-GalGoth, and Phillip.' He mentally pauses, turning to Warlock, asking, "Agent Bones, which one is which?"

After the shop owner harnessed the horses, Seljak climbed aboard the bench at the top of the carriage beside Agent bones. Waiving at the folks who turned to admire their shiny black carriage.

Once back at the agency he realized he needed a few items from home, specifically the tent and furs he used to use when the went camping with his father. After walking back to the house he rummaged through his old room finding his camping gear. All the while telling his mom about their adventure in the city, making sure not to mention any names or places. Kissing her good by he tells her he'll be out of town for a few days. Waiving goodby he heads back to the agency.

Early the next morning Seljak loads his gear and heads to the 'carriage house.' Tossing his rucksack on the rack on top of the carriage, he begins to put the harnesses on the black horses. They weren't 'That different than the war ponies he had cared for, but he realized he didn't know their names.

As the other agents enter the carriage house, Seljak looks up from the buckles on the harnesses and asks, "Did anyone catch the names of the horses?"

Khardon Dourstone wrote:
400 deducted, thanks for covering other half

The other half? Are we only paying 400 gp?

Realizing that the others seemed to be dead set on purchasing the really black carriage, Seljak fished two hundred gold pieces out of his purse. Handing the money to senior agent Dourstone, he gives a toothy smile lifting his double-barrel in the other hand. "I call shotgun."

Does everyone have enough cash left to cover one fourth?

Is 'drive carriage a skill? might be a profession. I assumed 'handle animals' would be the go to skill

Thinking about the difference between taking care of one horse and taking care of four Seljak Furrows his brow as Khardon makes the deal. He looks from the dwarf back at the carriage. "We'll need a lot of hay for four horses. Do we know if there are inn's on the way? Or will we need to carry food for them?"

I forgot about the 'Keen recollection, the roll is for local or geography, whichever works best
knowledge: 1d20 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (2) = 4 that's about par for the course

Looking from the experienced wagon with the portable facilities towards the dark carriage, Seamus scratches his head. "That doesn't seem to be very inconspicuous."

He looks from it to other wagons, knowing most wagons go about as fast as he can walk. "Does it go faster?"

He furrows his brow remembering how much food his dad had to take for the war pony. "If it needs four horses, will we be able to feed them all? It's a long trip."

As the left the office
Raising an eyebrow at Agent Bones' observation, Seamus looks back to the newly set door. Shrugging. "I don't think it's a question of liking us. From what the instructors told us were supposed to maintain protocol in all situations. I think she's just trying to do that." he furrows his brow. realizing he was the guilty culprit. "But if anything would irritate a person it would be having your door knocked off it's hinges while bathing."

at the shop
Seeing he dwarfs palm, Seamus unconsciously inspected his own magical marks. He was still not quite used to them. As the group talked about wagons and horses, Seamus added. "We'd like a draft horse that won't startle in combat, maybe an animal that had a little training for it." He looked from one dwarf to the other, not wanting them to think he's a coward and would hide behind a horse. Quickly adding, "Not that we'd expect it to fight or anything."

engineering: 1d20 ⇒ 2

As they inspect the available vehicles Seljak really likes the one with the hole in the bed of the wagon. It must be so they can use the facilities easily while they are on the move.

As they leave the agency, talking about preparations, Seljak listens, trying to remember any lessons that might help. "I took care of ponies for my father my whole childhood, but I've never ridden a horse either. I think a wagon would be fine." Turning to Lazastrahd, "Maybe we should leave in separate groups." He thinks about what the instructors had told them about surveillance. "Maybe three groups. The first one going out of town then doubling back. The second one, the wagon with a driver and someone hidden in the back with the bag, then a third group bringing up the rear watching to see if the wagon was followed." He looks at the agents to see what they think. This plan assumes we still have at least four agents...

As the walk down the street towards 'Jumly and Sons' Seljak watches as a cool breeze spins and flutters fall colored leaves around a tree. "It will be winter by the time we get back. Probably too cold to be sleeping under the stars. I think I'll pack my winter coat and buy a tent." He starts to reach for his coin purse. "So a large covered wagon and a draft horse? That should be big enough for us to use." As they walk, Sejak scratches his head, wondering about the chance of getting attacked on the road. "We may need an animal that won't spook easy. My dad has a friend who adopts old war horses, I may be able to purchase one from him."

My recommendation, a large wagon: 100 gp. a heavy war horse (so we don't need to worry about it running off in combat) 300 gp. Seamus will also purchase a small tent 10 gp. cold weather outfit, 8 gp. and furs 12 gp. leaving him 400 gp. to contribute. What else do we need?

Realizing they had been dismissed, Seljak began to shuffle out of the office through the newly repaired door. Looking at the others he asked, "Two hundred miles to the green woods." He scratched his head, "Should we buy horses to ride or a wagon or just walk?"

Relieved that Lazastrahd had picked up the narrative, Seljak happily sat nodding in agreement with the fine Drow. Raising an eyebrow when Ms Silverleaf called the girl a flower, Seljak considered explaining that she had been carrying flowers, not that she was a flower. But remembering the glare she gave him he decided against it. Scratching his head, he thought he had heard of a Bower King but maybe it had been the Beggar King.

He smiles when Lazasrahd is permitted to adopt the child and leans move to his friend. "Let me know if you ever need a baby sitter. If I can't do it, my mom loves watching children."

As Ms Silverleaf speaks of going out of town, Seamus begins to wonder about what Helldrick was after in the underdark. When she asked if there were any questions, he paused, not sure if he should asked, and hoped one of the others would. When neither Lazastrahd or Khardon read his mind and asked his question for him, he raised a large hand holding one sausage sized finger up. "Um we have a day, should we check the underdark and find out why Helldrick was going down there?"

Khardon Dourstone wrote:

My only concern is it takes a week to take effect... that and I really want my greatsword to be magical...If you think it's worth it, even though we need to wait a week to use it, I'll swap out the magical and masterwork, and be able to purchase one.

Thank you for your patience GM_Panic, I think I've got Seljak up to snuff.

I'm still working on Seljak, if I don't get him posted today, it will be tomorrow. I don't think it should slow the pace down any.

Shoot, ninja'd by Khardon, I think I'll leave it as is, reflecting Seljak's quirks.

Seeing Ms Silverleafs look up from her desk, Seljaks confidence melts a little. 'Our instructors told us when reporting list the events first. Once we've compiled all the facts we then asses opinions and solutions. Trying to keep a professional demeanor, Seljak can't help but smile when he hears the boy is still alive. He looks to Lazastrahd, wondering why he didn't bring the boy as instructed. 'I hope Lazastrahd doesn't get in trouble.'

As Lazastrahd finished explaining what happened to the lad, Seamus stood a little straighter and began to list the details of the events that lead up to them saving the city. "As we reported in our, um, report, we went to see a Mr Butterworth." He looks towards Khardon, "An old friend of Sar... Agent Dourstone, at the City Asylum to discuss the existence of the corps d'elite. Along with the other information he gave us, he told us a password for picking up things others have left. The password was 'Honey cake' and the cake shop belong to one Mrs Millent," He looked at the others to make sure he hadn't left anything out.

Nervous about continuing, Seljak cleared his throat, as Ms Silverleaf, rolled her hand indicating he should continue, "So, later continuing that portion of our investigation, we went to the shop. Khardon gave the password, and received the box of evil demon seed eggs while Agent Bones was kind enough to purchase pastries." He smiled remembering he pastries. "I had a lemon-iced, strawberry infused vanilla cupcake, a chocolate cupcake infused with coffee liquor covered with raspberry cream cheese icing and drizzled with chocolate Ganache, a pastries made with phyllo dough called..."

He looked at Ms Silverleaf, seeing the withering glare. He swallowed hard and looked to his friends, hoping one of them would pick up the narrative, "Then Agent Lazastrahd joined us having dropped of the little blind drow slave boy" His eyes widen, Putting his hands over his tusk filled mouth. "I left out the part where we found him." He looked at the others, Hoping they could repair his incomplete narrative.

Aghast, Seljak looks from Agent Bones to Agent Silverleaf, "He's just kidding ma'am, well be at your office in one hour." Breathing a sigh of relief as she leaves, Seljak feels his odd friend patting his arm.

Turning to Warlock he breaths a sigh of relief. "I hope so, Agent Bones, but I think I only did what any of us would." He looked at the door where she exited. "I doubt she too upset, I think she'll understand we did the best we could. Even if it interrupted her bath, we still saved the city and hopefully the boy."

I'm sure Khardon Dourstone made it to the room in time to here Eleonora Silverleaf orders

Turning to the veteran dwarf, "Agent Dourstone, I guess we should find Lazastrahd and the boy." He then heads to the nearest exit, intent on going to the temple to fetch Lazastrahd and the boy.

He turned back to Agent Dourstone, asking, "So if we become officers will we get offices with bathtubs?"
