Satine waits patiently for the talkers of the group to either convince this man named after gambling to leave us alone or to let her beat him around the head. She cares not which path is chosen.

To answer Jon's question, it would appear that the contents of resting to recover spells were not included in the Occult book (probably due to word count shenanigans). So technically:

a) You don't have to recover spells and don't have to worry about this stuff!

b) Since there's no written mechanism to recover spells, you can never recover them. Good luck with that!

c) The most reasonable approach is that since "A psychic spell largely functions like any other spell" all of the standard stuff applies to you as well. Use common sense (8 hours rest, prep time, etc.).

I would likely use the recovery rules for sorcerers as they are the closest thing in nature to the occultist.

What aboot psychic spells? Do I need to rest?

Satine wanders over to look at the various decorations. She inspects the fork and reads the symbols. Can speak Infernal

Satine looks around to see if anyone is watching her. Satisfied they are not, she reaches out and touches the fork. One minute later, she does the same to the Order of the Lash shield.

Satine will use her Object Reading ability to determine what she can learn about the fork and shield.

Object Reading (Su): At 2nd level, an occultist learns how to read information from items he examines. Examining an item in this way requires him to spend 1 minute handling the item. If the item is a magic item, the occultist learns its properties and command word as if he had successfully examined the item using detect magic and succeeded at a Spellcraft check. This ability does not reveal whether the item is cursed unless the occultist's class level is equal to or greater than the caster level of the item. If the item has any historical significance, the occultist learns one piece of information about its past (as determined by the GM). Finally, if the item was last used no longer than 1 day ago per the occultist's class level, the occultist learns one piece of information about the last creature to use the item. This information might be a glimpse of the creature's appearance, a brief vision of what it saw while using the item, or perhaps its emotional state when it last used the item. The GM determines what information is gained in this way. This functions like the psychometry occult skill unlock, but doesn't require a skill check and can be used at will.

Satine listens to Mor'targh's story with mild interest. His family's lineage is very... unique. I thought the Inner Sea area was very much prejudiced against half-breeds. Goes to show what money can do in this cold miserable place.
