@DM_ThatCanadianDude - I swapped the trait "light-bringer" for "marked by unknown forces". They are pretty similar, but I thought the second could create an interesting hook if the sigil on his palm is something related to the Runelords (even if Sarsam doesn't know what it is yet). ;)
I think these are all the submissions so far. I hope I haven't missed anyone.

Backstory added to the profile!
Here's Sarsam Zimm. I still need to add the backstory, but the statblock is pretty much done.
If we are allowed to take a drawback for an extra trait, I might make a small change and swap Intimidate for Diplomacy. ;)

Player's Introduction - I've been playing PbP games for a few years now, always as a player. I've finished a few PFS scenarios, and the first book of Rise of the Runelords (after that, the GM decided to take a break). I've also played in other APs, but as is often the case, most of them died out after a while. I'm currently playing Curse of the Crimson Throne; we started 2 years ago and we're in book 2 (it's a more laid back game, but the party dynamics is fantastic). Personally, I really like the literary aspect of PbP, which allows players to richly describe their actions.

Roleplaying a stabilization roll...
A heart to heart between the character and the NPC that screwed her childhood.
When the party finds itself divided about how to proceed, the Shoanti cleric asks for divine guidance.
Sorry guys, I'm finding it hard to get invested in this campaign, and on top of that RL has been a bit hectic as of late. I'll have to bow out of this one.
Let's head to the wastes!

Alhtough Sarsam would rather spend more time in the lab and study the clave's tech and numenera, he refrains from lingering too long in there. For a moment, he considers taking the cyphers with him, but on second thought decides to leave them behind, since these objects are accounted for, and removing them would make him a common thief. After a quick look, he follows the rest of the party.
He reads the journal with great interest, seemingly oblivious to Sirona's curious eyes peeking over his shoulder. He lifts his stare from the diary and starts thinking about Xarmun's report.
"So, the lockdown is just a diversion to prevent the locals from noticing their absence." He looks at Voss. "We were hired to do deliver these boxes, and thus we ought to find its adressees to finish our work... but I admit that this is secondary to my curiosity. If what Xarmun and Brogun tell is true, then there's some strange device acting in the region, and I wish to see it. " He finally nods in agreement to Voss' suggestion. "So, yes, let's find the 'holy men'."
Any directions to the Facetted Dome?
"Well done, Voss. Let's deliver the cargo... and hopefully talk to the priests. This story about the nightmares intrigues, and they might know something about it. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some numenera behind it. I've seen them do stranger things", Sarsam says, looking at his forearm as the shadow nanites undulate within his veins. He picks up one of the boxes and follows Voss and Sirona.
Sarsam approaches the force field and starts looking for any switches, pannels or devices that seem to operate the energy barrier, both on their side of and on the other.
Searching (trained): 1d20 ⇒ 12
Understanding Numenera (specialized): 1d20 ⇒ 12
"This is getting somewhat repetitive", Sarsam remarks with a hint of irritation in his voice. "Is Hataniah your boss? Is she one of the priests? Perhaps you should summon her, for she'll certainly be more criterious as to what merits an exception to your current policy. We bring cargo of utmost importance to the priests, one they are surely expecting urgently. You wouldn't want your superiors to know you were the reason they didn't get it, I assume."
Arriving at the ship, Sarsam helps Sirona and Voss unload the cargo again. During the walk to the tower, he tells them about his exchange with the innkeeper and describes the dream he had, explaining he decided to make an empirical research to detect what seems to be the problem afflicting the townspeople.
Facing the new guard, Sarsam replies "We've come once again to deliver the supplies your masters have ordered."
Sarsam sits on the edge of the bed and cleans his forehead with the back of his hand. He takes deep breaths to regain his calm, letting the nightmare fade from his mind. How long was I asleep? certainly less than an hour, or the innkeeper would've called... and still, I feel more tired than before. He stands up, walks out of the room, and approaches the innkeeper.
"I had the nightmare. Like seeing through some creature's eyes, and yet, not seeing. Just confusion and terror... it's hard to explain. Have you had the same dream? I heard people talking outside... and your reaction earlier, too. Is this... a widespread phenomenon? What can you tell me about it?"
I should warn the others something is not right in this city.
"That's exactly what I plan on doing", Sarsam replies to the flustered innkeeper. "Any reason I shouldn't?"
Sarsam is a little taken aback by the woman's reaction. Her certainty that he will soon experience this mysterious dream intrigues the nano, and he starts looking for accommodations to test an hypothesis. Upon finding a small inn, he steps inside and calls for the management. "Greetings! I'd like a room for the next hour. Please call on me after that time has passed. Would that be at all possible?", he inquires, pulling out a shin from under his hood.
Sarsam will just walk around town, let me know if he sees something. ;)
"That other mercenary—Servae, right?—probably stole it. It doesn't concern us, anyway. It's not our boat. A good thing we had the cargo with us", Sarsam says in response to Sirona's question. He then turns to Deymish. "Do you know this town? What is there for us to do until tomorrow? I expected to spend some time learning from the local Aeon Priests, but it doesn't look like they are receiving guests. Perhaps an archaelogical site nearby...?"
Sarsam quietly observes the group's interaction, except for when he corrects Voss and Eptin. "Deymish", he says, "Not Deylish". He seems to mind it more than Deymish does, since the merchant doesn't even flinch at the mistake. Things should be named after their name, the nano thinks.
When Sirona asks for her belongings, he collects the equipment taken from near her cage and starts handing them over to the woman. As he does so, he pauses a little with every objects he gives her, analyzing Sirona's cyphers with interest and not much discretion. After giving her the last item, he eyes her with curiosity. "You have implants", he says, stating the obvious. It almost feels as if there should be a follow-up question.
Upon encountering the caged woman, Sarsam halts and keeps staring at her with a puzzled look on his face. "Oh. A prisoner." He makes no mention of coming to her rescue.
"They lacked sense. Attacking without assessing their target... a reckless idea", Sarsam says, correcting Voss. He jumps to the other ship and starts perusing the raider's belongings, looking for cyphers or any technology they might be carrying. "It's ironic that by attempting to take what they did not have, they should lose what they did..."
Sarsam looks over his shoulder and sees another raider coming at him from behind, and barely has time to duck the attack. He feels the pull of the dagger as the blades rips the cloth in his hood; turning around, Sarsam thrusts both hands forward, and the shadow nanites crawl away from their prior victim to fly towards a new foe.
Our replacement could be a prisoner of the raiders. That would be a nice tie-in. :D
Not totally sure Servae is still with us, his last and only post was a week ago...
Watching the blade plunge towards his chest, Sarsam vigorously parries the attack, twisting the raider's arm in the process. The criminal drops his weapon and screams in pain as Eptin bombards him with a bioforce blast. Sarsam quickly turns his attention to the second bandit, and invokes his shadow nanites to aid him in dodging his strike. The shadows swirl around the raider, hampering his attack and confusing his sight, which gives Sarsam the opportunity to dish out a devastating onslaught. Obeying his mental commands, the shadow engulfs Sarsam's foe and constrict him with great strength, muffling the cries of despair within its darkness.
The rules do not mention nonlethal damage per se. In page 93 of the Core Rulebook, under the header "The Effects of Taking Damage", it is stated that "when an NPC reaches 0 health, it is either dead or (if the player wishes it) incapacitated, meaning unconscious or beaten into submission".
So basically when I say nonlethal what I mean is that I don't want to kill him; in case my attack reduces the raider's health to 0, I want him unconscious instead.
Also, just checked the Onslaught esotery and it should be only 2 intellect damage (4 damage is for physical attacks only). Plus 3 damage from effort.
Sarsam dodges the first attack; as the second man thrusts a dagger aginst him, the nano diverts the blow with his right forearm and raises the other hand, causing the scanning shadows below to quickly crawl up the bandit's body until reaching the head. The shadows penetrate the man's eyes, ears, nostrils and mouth, seeking to shut down the raider's mind.
Despite the violent impact, Sarsam holds on to to the ropes and manages to remain on his feet. He watches the four preparing ready to boardand gets ready for the action. Under the influence of the nanites in his bloodstream, Sarsam's eyes turn black, as do the veins in his body and face, in vivid contrast against his brass skin. Light around the taciturn voyager seems to flicker for a moment as shadows creep from under his feet in the direction of the bandits, seeking them out.
Spending 1 intellect point to use the scan esotery on the bandits
Standing at the fore of the ship, Sarsam observes the canals with attention, spotting another synth-ship closing in on them. Suddenly, he realizes the other vessel is set on a collision course; he nudges Voss and points to the incoming threat. "Look." He turns to the aft of the ship and shouts out a warning. "Deymish! Eptin! Servae! Brace yourselves! We're about to get hit!" He seeks protection behind the mast and holds on to the ropes, waiting for the impact, positive that there won't be enough time to change their course.
Looking at the floor as he takes the stairs, Sarsam notices his shadow turning around, a peculiar occurrence that, he has recently learned, can only mean that his associate Voss Nerik is nearby. A quick glance over his shoulder confirms the presence of the graceful man, who currently salutes their employer rather enthusiastically. "I also told Deymish you weren't", Sarsam says, referring to Voss' tardiness. "I'm glad you made it in time." However, Sarsam's satisfaction does not derive from affection, but rather from practicality. "One more pair of hands to share the load", he concludes bluntly before retiring to the lower decks.
"Good, I'd rather make watch during the sunset and evening", Sarsam says, heading towards the lower deck. Before taking the stairs down, he turns around and addresses Deymish. "About Nebalich... yes, I'll take you up on that offer. I could use the ride." With these words, Sarsam disappears downstairs.
Is Eptin androgynous? I ask this because the picture in his avatar is female, and I usually go by the avatars to visualize the characters...
Sarsam puts down one of the cases and fastens it to the ship, nodding at Deymish. "That's not particularly generous, but reasonable." He looks up squinting his eyes, blinded by the sun; with a grimace, the man pulls up his hood, which had fallen to his shoulder during the moving of the cargo. He then steps into the shadow of the mast, staring out into the canals towards Redston. "When do we leave?"
No slam, it's a different connection for Controls Gravity from the Character Options book. That connection states that your descriptor interferes with someone else's descriptor; since Sarsam's descriptor focuses on darkness and shadows, I suggested the shadow thing, if you're fine with it.
@Voss & Eptin: I'm more inclined to use the connection with Voss, mostly because his gravitational powers would be more intriguing to Sarsam. He's not THAT into botanics and biology. :)
Teleporter (traveler) is an occultic cypher, so it counts as two. Therefore I should not get the third cypher (retaliation node).
I also don't get the additional oddity, since it came from the mechanical descriptor.
If we may use the connection suggestions from the Character Options book, I just thought of a cool connection between Sarsam and Voss: Sarsam's shadow always leans towards Voss when they are within short range of each other. :)
Ok, two things:
1 - I was thinking about changing my descriptor to Tough to avoid the mechanical overlap between Sarsam and Eptin (both share the same descriptor and type). It wouldn't change Sarsam's personality or background (the nanites would give him a hardened skin and better health and regeneration, hence the Tough descriptor).
2 - Explores dark places - the connection for this focus says to choose one other character with whom Sarsam has worked before (in our case, probably another hired job, perhaps the same that brought us to Quintas). Sarsam and the chosen character get a +1 bonus to rolls when working together (basically when using the help action or attacking the same foe). I´ll take applicants. :)
