Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

As Justin greets his bruised friend, Sarastra approaches him

“Ah, this is your friend? Very good. Now that you have her freed, I shall take my leave of you. It has been a very interesting day of travel, and I appreciate our common sojourn, but it is time for us to part ways. I have business elsewhere in this place. Fare thee well, and a safe journey home.”

Sarastra suddenly becomes enveloped in shadows and disappears

And yes, almost four years later we are just about to finish up the first DAY in game

Sarastra grimaces

“Magic is my strong suit”

The cold frosts the warty skin of the creature, but seems to not affect it

Sarastra smiles

"I believe this is where my skills might come in handy"

she pulls a slim wand from her small purse. The purse seems much to small and delicate to contain the wand, which is almost a foot long and made of clear crystal

"I can render us invisible. However, this is not the greater version, so do not betray your existence by attacking"

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

This would be a good place for any type of Knowledge/perception checks that anyone would like to try

Sarastra has refashioned her winter get up back into her standard Elf princess silks. She has also seemed to have cast some sort of levitation/fly spell similar to Justin, and drifts above the rusty garbage-strewn cave floor

"The fortress looks formidable, but do you notice? There are no visible guards or sentries. look at the base of the walls. There"

She points a slender hand at a point in the citadel. There is what looks to be a large rent in the outer surface, as if the metal had been punched in by a large object or force

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

Sarastra floats down the shaft, her robes swirling as she floats in

“Shall we proceed?”

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

The shadows around Sarastra congeal into a dark orb that suddenly bursts into flame. It streaks off to strike one of the mummies E12. It detonates with a roar

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

There seems to be some sort of magical barrier at the open doors. The swirling snow around them is somehow warded off from entering the chamber beyond. Sarastra sticks her arm within

"An environmental shield. It is cold inside, but not as cold as out here."

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

Sarastra gestures snd a purple bolt of lightning issues forth

Sarastra looks back at Alessia

“I simply showed the beast the thing that it feared most. Everything fears something. It died of fright”

The dark fey princess walks along unconcerned

“Well, shall we proceed?”

Sarastra chants some liquid syllables and purple lightning lances out

The magical lights dance and reflect off the many icy facets of the cave. The party begins to gingerly make their way to the back of the cave. Sarastra suddenly points to the snow pool

“Something moves beneath! Ware!”

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

Sarastra seems to stand above the snow, as if weighing nothing. She whisks off the snow covering her dress briskly. Her dress ripples and refashions from the diaphanous silks she had been wearing to a royal winter getup buttoned up to her neck with a sweeping ermine cape.

“Well, it smells better here at least”

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

The diminutive Princess huffs

“I will NOT be bathing in corpse entrails”

She looks at the group

“I can take us through the Shadow realm for a short distance. I will get us to the hallway. I was hoping not to consume this power until it was needed, but it is better than this brute force approach “

She gestures and a vertical flat black line appears in the air

“Join hands and follow. Do not let go or you will be lost in Shadow”

Sarastra scans the crowd in a bored manner

“I see the creature. What of it? He probably hunts for his dinner amongst this fleshy herd. He is not looking at us, and we have business to attend to”

She turns her cat eyes to Justin

“Shouldn’t we be finding this Black Pyramid you spoke of?”

Female Shadow Fey Sorc/6

Excuse my smooshy railroading here. Just trying to assemble the crew..

A voice calls out from the temple door

"Excuse me, but I was told that I could meet a Justin Case here?"

The party turns and sees a woman striding towards them with a languorous walk. She has pin straight raven-hued hair set in a braid that sways down her back to below her waist. Several gleaming jewel-encrusted hair pins adorn her tresses. A literal crown is perched upon her smooth milk-white brow, a coronet really, one smooth band of silvery mithril set with a darkly gleaming stone. Her violet-black eyes are pupiled like a cats. She is dressed in a form-fitting travelling outfit of purest black, inset with silver embroidery in swirls of geometric shapes. A slim rapier sits astride her hip.

The woman looks at the assembled group.

"I am Sarastra, Princess Royal of the Shadow Court. An old friend of mine, Renkar ShaHagmid told me that you were travelling to Avalas. As it so happens I have business there, and I would offer myself as a travelling companion. It is always safer to travel in groups I find."
