Hey all, In a recent game, I had one of the trolls combating the PC group impale himself on the lead tank's weapon in the hope of no longer having that said character constantly carve up the poor trolls. My question is the following: What kind of combat maneuver is this? I am leaning towards grapple
I am imagining the troll pulling said weapon in, holding it and pounding on the PC for the remaining attacks for the following rounds (1 standard action to start the grapple) Any thoughts?
Hi folks, Looking for some advice on how to make my paladin a bit more versatile and effective in combat. So far, his deity is Shelyn so he is a bit of a give peace, love, and beauty a chance kind of guy. That said, once those have been given a chance, he will go to town on you. So far feats have been combat expertise, weapon focus glaive, improved disarm, greater disarm, and improved trip. So he is excellent for taking people alive but not so good at all sorts of other things. Would power attack or Improved Crit glaive be the next best feat? Or would you suggest something else entirely. Thanks.
With non-fighter classes, would having improved and greater <insert combat maneuver of choice> be a useful addition to the bag of tricks. Given that BAB is lower than fighting classes, wouldn't being able to trip and loading on the hurt on a prone opponent make sense? Same with things like feints or dirty tricks. All these combat maneuvers seem tailor made to level the playing field somewhat. This seems even more true given that most builds discussed are about damage maximization and not necessarily increased chance to hit. Any thoughts?
Hi Everyone, I currently have a ranger beastmaster with stats(16Str, 17Dex, 12Con, 18Int, 13Wis and 14 Cha and yes, I rolled well). I was thinking of switching over to a rogue and being a skill monkey that is able to do TWF. A few questions: 1) Is it worth getting the StepUp, FollowingStep feat tree or should I focus on immobilizing the badguy with the Improved Feat Tree. My character is about the least intimidating half-orc ever with the chain fighter and rock climber alternate racial traits. 2) Should I wait till level I reach level 4, that way I can get Diehard without having to pay with Endurance or switch one level earlier and forget about getting Diehard, that way I can eventually get one more rogue trick? In terms of group composition, we have a barbarian, a druid, an illusionist and a bard, so definitely not a typical party. Thanks. |
